If you are looking for a relaxing time whilst meandering through salt pools of different temperatures (60-109 degrees )...then Aire is the place! I first visited in Seville and was thrilled to hear about the Chicago location. The ambiance is ancient bath house moody with exposed brick and candles. I got an amazing massage and absolutely loved floating in the warm pools and jump scaring my muscles with a (quick) dip in the colder pool!

My boyfriend surprised me with a visit to Aire! I was so excited. It's such a serene and nice place. This bath house is huge! It has so many pools- all with varying temperatures. There's a few cold plunge areas, as well as a salt "Floatorium" and an outdoor pool you swim under a glass to get to. Our couples massage was soo relaxing. My masseuse really knew what she was doing. Overall, I would visit again

This place is otherworldly! We came to do a post Valentine's Day spa day. It was our first time and while pricey, it was worth every penny. We got 90 minute massage and bath session. The staff was incredibly helpful and the interior really felt like you were transported to an ancient Roman bath. The variety of baths were so soothing. The environment was so chill and relaxing. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough. Parking is a little tricky in this area so make sure to bring a little extra to park valet.

An unforgettable, deeply relaxing experience I visited Aire Ancient Baths and booked the Argan Hot Oil Massage, and it was absolutely heavenly. From the moment I stepped in, the atmosphere was serene, warm, and transporting -- like entering another world designed purely for relaxation. The massage itself was incredible. The warm argan oil, the slow rhythmic pressure, and the calming environment worked together to melt every ounce of stress away. I walked out feeling lighter, looser, and completely restored. If you're looking for a place to truly unwind and escape the noise of the city, Aire is unmatched. I can't recommend it enough and will definitely be returning for another treatment

I came here a few weeks ago to celebrate my wedding anniversary and I booked the Ultimate Couples Bath for about $355 total for the both of us. It included 90 minutes of use of their entire bath and steam facilities as well as the changing room and shower amenities. At the end of our experience we got a mask and salt scrub goodie bag to take home as well as got to partake in a wellness shot before leaving. We had a very relaxing time. The ambiance was like it described. Low lit and romantic and very inviting. It was not super crowded and we didn't know how long we were there as you're not allowed to use cell phones. They have a system where they ring a bell every 45 minutes so you know approximately how much time you have left of when your time is up. The staff will occasionally come by to check wristbands and all are super friendly and accommodating. Upon arrival, we check in and later a host will take you the changing room. You must bring a bathing suit and they provide robes and bath shoes. These shoes must be worn at all time. They provide lockers so you can store all your personal belongings and all cell phones must be stored away. No cell phone use is permitted in the bath house. They have hooks all over the bath house to hang your robes. There were about 5 different baths. My favorite of all the baths was the Floatarium, which was a salt bath that was so relaxing as your body naturally just floats and I loved plunging into the cold baths right after a sitting in the steam room. We didn't book a massage because there was no availability but as a 1st timer I am glad I got to experience the full 90 min of the bath and steam time. Don't miss the opportunity to use the salt mound to exfoliate as well. That was super nice to have at this bath house. I highly recommend this luxurious bath house. Perfect for celebrating any occasion or find an excuse to have one. I can't wait to book again.

Adi completed my body scrub and massage, she was excellent! Chaz provided my tour, checked on me and gave great advice on how to approach the amenities. I appreciate her too. The space was unique, in all the right ways, baths and pools/plunges a treat to experience. One huge negative, the room I received my massage in was cold! So cold when my legs or arms were exposed for massage it was jarring. Mentioned it to a few people and apologies were given. One small negative. You don't really control the time the take you back for a treatment. You can access the amenities after treatments but I personally do all my water/plunge/steam amenities before my massage and like the massage oil to stay on my body for the day. Suggestions: -If your room seems to be in the back corner by the coldest plunge pool, I kindly suggest you insist on a different room unless you like cold temperatures. -Definitely make the time to enjoy the amenities, Ado was great but not sure the treatment is worth it when I can't time the amount of time with the amenities prior. They let people inside the bath house in waves to easily distinguish time frames, so it's not as simple as just arriving early for your appointment.

I went to Aire for the first time last year and I had a wonderful time! So much so that I went again this year. I traveled 4 hours by train for this pampering experience. I purchased the Ancient Relaxing Massage for 45 minutes for $258.00. The massage therapist was not good. She spent more time rubbing my feet and pushing on my body than concentrating on my back as I requested. The staff were a tad aggressive when telling myself and other people to be quiet. While couples displaying PDA and damn near having sex in the pools went 'unnoticed '. The atmosphere is relaxing and the pools are therapeutic. But I'm not sure if I'll go back again....

Had the pleasure of receiving AIRE gift box for Christmas and just getting an opportunity to use it. Thankful it never expires. This is TRULY an EXPERIENCE! From the moment I walked up until long after departure I have been mesmerized. The entryway is on the side off the building down a short red painted alley. The waiting area (although I did not need to wait) is dimly lit by candles. Lots of sofa seating. Greeter checks id and confirms appointment. The bathroom attendant was kind and patient. Well aware that many may not have been before and didn't mind re- explaining the process. I wont go step by step but I was surprised that showering was NOT a requirement before entry into bath/ pools. After changing into my swimsuit the bathroom attendant walked me down to the bath area attendant which checked me in and gave me a tour of the many pools and steam rooms. The young lady that toured me was bubbly and patient. I tried EVERY pool but did not exit to the outdoor waterfall. You do need to dip underwater to get to waterfall. The cold plunge after sauna is the best. Overall the areas were pretty quiet. I also had 60 minute massage with Jasmine which was phenomenal and additional 15m foot scrub. I wish they would have signs with the temperature of each pool. I'm checking my calendar now to see how soon I can return

Am I missing something? The price for the pools alone is $150/person for 1.5 hours? King Spa is $40 with unlimited time

They have about 10 Different type of spa and cold plunges. I was also questioning whether its worth it as king spa is so much cheaper. But if u don't want to go all the way to Niles this is a good one to try. Also the kind of spa is different. King… Read more

    What are the prices?

There are different prices for different packages. It depends on what package you would like.

How many people are allowed in the salt water flotation pool at the same time?

I didn't see any signage denoting a max, but it's large enough for at least 6+ people to float with good spacing

    Do they offer exfoliating scrubs?

yep, and i got a body scrub! you have to buy it with a package, i believe. i did a package with the scrub and massage the first time i went. then the second time, i just did the baths. i'd rather get a body scrub/massage cheaper somewhere else. but… Read more

Are you able to have outside drinks or do they sell drinks there, besides juices?

No outside drinks They only sell their juices

For those that have been there when it's at it's full capacity does it "feel" crowded and does the "energy" of the staff feel more stressed/rushed around noon time on a week day? Or is it better to go at 4 or later?

I went on a Sunday at 5pm and there were around 15-20 people total in there which I believe 20 is their full capacity, but don't quote me. It felt a little busy and I would've rather had it been close to empty, but that's just me.

Do they have blow dryers and a place to redo hair and makeup?

    Yes they do

We (2 people) are doing the Ancient Thermal Bath & 60' Relaxing Massage... What should we tip for the massage? Usually, when I get a massage I tip $20 (per person), is that enough here?

Yes $20 or more per person would be great!

Is there a certain type of bathing suit women have to wear? Does it have to be a one piece?

There is no certain swimsuit you need to wear. You can wear a two piece or one piece.

    How deep are the pools?

Not very deep. It you can stand in all of them and water is at your waist level.

Is this the kind of place it would be okay and comfortable to go to alone?

I would say yes. It's a very quiet and relaxing atmosphere and would be totally fine to go alone.

Is this a good place for me to book my fiancée and her two friends for a girls spa day? And what service would you advise?

    Definitely!

What are the prices and what all is offered?

    Go check the damn website

Is there nudity? If so can I be with my wife or have to be separated? And is there couple messages together also?

No nudity. Swimwear required. And yes couples massages together are avail but they are terrible. Rooms are by bathroom so you hear constant flushing and the actual massage was even worse. She just rubbed me with oil for an hr. But I Loved the… Read more

Are they strict with the time limit for the baths?

    Yes 2 hours

Is this safe for pregnant women?

I believe they say on their website that the baths are not pregnant women friendly due to the salts and high temperatures of the spa pools.

    Do you tip here?

Maybe if you get a spa service (e.g. massage) but if just using the waters I do not think you need to tip.

What is Sat night like here? Only opening is 9pm - doesn't strike me to hit the spa that late but wondering what the scene is like.

We went at 7 and the crowd was small. I would think 9 is good since you will come out very relaxed which makes for a nice end of day.

Is this a place after services that you can chill and hang out and enjoy the day? Bring food and things?

Not really. There is a waiting area with a large couch, where you can buy their juices and chat with a friend or two, but not really a gathering area.

Is it difficult finding parking around on a Tuesday?

They have a valet service. Parking may be hard to find after 5pm on a weekday.

However, new ownership seems intent on slowly ruining this treasured institution. When I heard that the owner of Red Square had taken the Sweatlodge over, I braced myself. I no longer patronize that place due to experiencing a rapid decline in the quality of service and facilities. It turns out my apprehension was valid. In short order, Sweatlodge started going downhill ... - The satellite radio was the first to go. No more chill blues or jazz, but a local radio station that plays obnoxious commercials half of the time. - The wood in the saunas was replaced with much cheaper material. No more pleasant smell of cedar when you walk in. Also, there are exposed screw heads throughout the benches of the dry sauna, which have burnt me numerous times. - The zero gravity chairs that were perfect for a nap have been replaced with uncomfortable wooden chairs. Word is that the owner grew tired of fixing them. But somehow this wasn't an issue for the nearly 20 years they had previously been there. - The ice machine was taken out, and the water tank replaced with a fountain that is often lukewarm. - The sand filtering in the cold plunge was replaced with chlorine. The pool is often much warmer than it should be, especially in warm months. - The food portions are much smaller while meals grow more expensive. For example, I got the chicken soup most of my visits for a decade and a half. It was the best in the city. Now, it is a medium bowl of thin broth. featuring an anemic chicken leg and thigh with a few slices of carrot and potato thrown in - for $17. It was previously served with a small, fresh baked loaf of bread. Not anymore. - The cafe hours have been limited to save on payroll. It doesn't open until well into the afternoon. - Last time I was there, a sign proclaimed that you could request only one extra towel. (This was a classic Red Square tactic. Nickel and dime bullshit.) - 10% service charge added to all services. - One of the TVs had disappeared from the wall last time I visited. All of this while the admission price steadily climbs. I have still visited, but much less often than I used to. An unpleasant surprise has awaited me every time. I will probably pop in once in a while, as the heat is still good, and the plunge still satisfies (when it is cold). The staff is friendly and competent. This is the only reason for my second star. However, I am sure it won't be long before the penny pinching results in an underwhelming experience I refuse to pay for. Many men have been patronizing this joint for even longer than I have, but I would would imagine that they have their limits and will begin to drop off as well if this continues. Really disappointing and a true shame that new owner is ruining this magical place.

So I came here with my wife, and it turned out to be the perfect relaxing, fun (and slightly gimmicky) activity between a morning of site-seeing/walking around Chicago, and an evening dinner/show. We did the silver package. After a trip to the Sauna (we did not last long) and the steam room (which had a cold shower inside that was extremely nice to cool down) we headed downstairs for the soak (with fresh drinks and a snack platter). The soak was very relaxing and gave your skin a light hoppy/floral scent. Everything seemed clean and well-organized. Definitely would recommend for a unique couples' spa package.

It was such a luxurious and beautiful experience. This was one of my favorite places to come celebrating my birthday. I will absolutely come back to enjoy another Self Care Day. Great place to unwind, release stress and detox your mind body and soul.

Very well maintained facilities. The staff are constantly cleaning and sterilizing. The wet sauna…read moreand hot tub are large and meandering, with nooks for intimate connections. There are also open shower rooms (like gym showers) next to the sauna and on the third floor by the gym. There's a dry sauna by the gym as well. The rented rooms are well maintained, with mirrored walls, flat screen tv (with porn channels) a lock safe and bed ideal for sweaty activity. I especially appreciate the water fountains with mouthwash fountains as well. The facility is three floors, with dark rooms containing swings, slings, glory holes, and play areas. You have the option to rent a locker for your clothes and belongings, or rooms which have lock safes inside under the bed. Great variety of guys every time I'm there. Keep in mind that when there are themed events there is often a line to get in, stretching outside and down the street. But it's a fun place to get naked and enjoy yourself. Also, you cannot bring any bags or backpacks in--only nap sacks with essentials like a change of clothes and flip flops. Your bag will be inspected before entry. No drugs or drug paraphernalia are permitted. If you bring video head cleaner, it will be tested before entry.

My experience is as someone who was interviewed for a job at this particular location. I had an…read moreinside reference and was brought in to interview pretty quickly. The night before my interview I was told that the exact position I was applying for was given to someone else, but I was still encouraged to interview. That was only the beginning of the strange things... I arrived on time and the General Manager asked me to wait 10 minutes in the locker room while he finished something. Fine enough for me; I knew that I would've been happy with this job (the hours, the work, the benefits), but that I could do much better elsewhere if things didn't work out. Finally, the GM sat me in his office across from his computer screens, one of which showed his two dogs. He continued to work. I asked, "You have dogs?" He said, "Yes." I said, "They're very handsome." He finally looked at me and asked, "What does that mean?" I told him, "on your screen" to which he seemed surprised and said, "Oh, sorry. Thanks." As if this weren't odd enough, he asked me in the middle of the interview, "So you're married?" I told him no, never. And he proceeded to tell me that he isn't allowed to ask that question. I pointed out that he already did (my ring on my ring finger), that I wasn't married and he should move on. But he proceeded to tell me it's illegal to ask, and he didn't want to know and he went on about married and coupled employees who had problems because of it. I assured him I wasn't married. It was the most uncomfortable interview that I've ever had, and I'm hoping that someone has it on video. Sounds like something isn't right at this place?
