It truly was an outstanding experience getting a Brazilian lymphatic drainage body massage here. As…read morea person who spends a lot of time helping others I aways put my self love treatments in the back burner, so this was an exceptional treat. It is located right off of Michigan ave. There is public street parking available but I ended up using SpotHero as I didn't want to risk running around to find a spot. There is also valet available in the area if you're interested. I arrived at the office and everyone was so welcoming and kind. I had the privilege of working with Dania as my lymphatic drainage massage therapist and she was an absolute delight. I explained to her I've only had typical swedish and Thai massages before and she gave me a thorough explanation as to the difference and what to expect during the experience. She offered to explain the techniques during the massage if I like or if I would prefer a silent session. I love the option as I enjoy learning things related to health. Prior to the lymphatic drainage massage I used the add-on for the Cocoon Wellness Sauna Pod to prepare and relax my body and mind. It looks exactly like a space pod from a science fiction movie, but ever so calming. Laying in the pod you're exposed to infrared dry sauna heat, it looked like red light therapy, vibration massage and Himalayan salt therapy and aroma therapy. Relaxing in here put me in a calming state of zen that I'm usually unable to achieve by meditating. This was an eye opening luxurious experience as my body felt lighter as the lymph and fluid were pushed away from the area and towards my core/kidneys. I've also gained my bodily awareness as I tend to tense up my abdomen subconsciously which inhibits my ability to relax my mind, body, and vessels. This is truly a luxury experience that is experience feel special from start to finish.

Linda and Ella gave my husband and I an amazing Swedish Couples Massage w/ Lymphatic Drainage. This…read morenew location just opened directly across the street from their original location. This was our first time as customers of theirs, so we don't have much to compare it to, but the new location is beautiful. The decor is bright and welcoming, and the treatment rooms are cozy and relaxing. We mentioned a Groupon offer and they honored it in-store, but we did get upsold on a "Healing Treatment" that cost us $30 more each. It was supposed to include an 8- minute foot soak (we soaked for 4 minutes, I timed it), calming chimes to help us relax, and the Lymphatic Drainage portion of the massage. This didn't extend our massage length, but that was understood. The foot soak set-up is somewhat of a work-in-progress, if you ask me. We sat on adorable, furry stools placed precariously just inside the doorway of our treatment room. My husband rested against the wall while I sat in the middle of the room with no back support. It made more sense, to me, that we should've been sat against the opposite wall. The water was warm and felt good, but the door was open the entire time and we didn't get our full 8 minutes, which made it less than relaxing. Our full-body massages ended 4 minutes early, but I feel that this is pretty normal for this type of "spa"/ massage parlor. We both thoroughly enjoyed the Eucalyptus aromatherapy - you are able to choose a scent of your own. The hot stones were nice as well. They also used what I believe was a disposable, heated eye mask and a weighted heat pad that was laid atop our tummies. We've had lots of massages, but use of these items were new to us. We left feeling relaxed and sleepy! P.S. Parking in the area was the typical, Chicago-area nightmare, despite what I was told when I called to inquire. Had we known this, we would've Ubered or caught a Lyft! P.P.S. One more thing, paying in cash saves you a 3% card processing fee. You're welcome!

I've had massages from chain massage places like Massage Envy all the way up to $1,000 spa packages and the quality of this massage is top rank. This isn't your full service spa with a relaxation room, steam rooms, slippers, robes, and other amenities, but if you are looking for a less-expensive but fantastic massage in a well-decorated but quaint atmosphere, then this is your place! I cross-checked all the massage Groupon offerings with Yelp, and this place was the clear winner. Although it doesn't have a ton of reviews, all of them are glowing - and for good reason! They sometimes have two massage therapists in the office, but I think that was just Thursdays at the time we were booking. Therefore, if you are two people you might have to take the massages in sequence, but it's worth the wait! There's a groupon for $49 for a 60 minute massage. I think if you call and ask they will honor the groupon price without having to purchase it. I highly recommend Maria and Lotus Touch to anyone!

I've never had a Swedish massage where someone digs their elbow in my back. I feel they do the same massage for everyone and there is no attention paid to someone's individual needs. This is fine if the establishment is charging $29 as most other massage places do that give everyone the same massage in a big room. So I guess here you are paying more money for a private room. The bed wasn't heated. I was cold every time she took the blanket off a section. The bed didn't have a head cradle at the top, was rather a hole in the table where you stick your head. At first I hated this as it was uncomfortable but I didn't get a stuffy nose like I typically do with the face cradles. So I preferred this. I don't understand the tea house portion of the name. They had random boxes of tea on a shelf in the waiting area..... Overall, if you get a "deal" then I'd say come here. I would not recommend it for the full price as you can get more customized massages elsewhere.
