I booked an 80 minute deep tissue appointment on September 22 with Andrea, with the understanding…read morethat she was one of more experienced therapists in the office. Once we were in the room she asked me to explain what areas I wanted to focus on. I explained that I had had knee surgery 7 weeks ago and that my calf and hamstring on that leg were tight and needed to be stretched out. She nodded that she understood. She started working on that leg with light pressure and then moved to the left leg. I asked her to please go back and apply more pressure on the right leg and she refused, citing that my surgery was too recent and that she would need to wait 8 weeks to apply more pressure. At the end of the session I asked her why she didn't tell me that she was not going to honor my request when we first discussed it but she just repeated what she had said before. I had booked a longer appointment just to have this issue properly addressed and it was not. I didn't get the work done that I asked for and feel that I am owed at least a partial refund. I left a review at the office but have heard nothing back from them.

I walked in and asked for the combo. There are multiple tables in one big, clean room. I was pointed to a table and put my things in a plastic container. The language barrier is very strong, but the people were very nice, and the services great. They covered my eyes and wrapped one of my feet with a heating element (it was a bit too hot and made my big toe so uncomfortable I was distracted for the other foot's massage). Also, there were two mall speakers just outside the door blaring different songs -- the auditory conflict was pretty bad and hard to get over. Foot massage was good! I was then led to a table for the body massage (still in the big room, so all your clothes stay on). I had gone in because my body was extremely stiff from a workout and a long plane ride. This woman worked me OVER! She was NOT effing around. She asked me multiple times if the pressure was okay, so if this is not for you, there's other levels. My massage was 60% not enjoyable but I knew it was going to be worth it. She fixed my stiff body in just 20 min! I will definitely be back, particularly when I'm post-flight!

I have been to other spas around town and get massages about once or twice a year but am far from a regular at the spa. Current Crush was pretty much a massage newbie, so I thought the couples massage would be a good introduction. We both decided to go for the therapeutic massage, a version of a deep-tissue massage (50-minute option). There is an 80-minute option as well, for those looking to seriously decompress. Both of the massage therapists were competent and put us at ease. Relative to other spas (I think the Spa at the Dana Hotel is comparable) the Wit's Spa is slightly smaller, but in no way does this detract from the experience. The Whisper Lounge is enjoyable although the wicker chairs are a bit difficult to get into and out of. The woman at the front desk handling the booking and payments was so sweet, which made the experience that much more relaxing. I liked that nobody tried to push products at the end, although it would have been nice to get a little more instruction on aftercare (hydration, exercise, etc.). At one point I heard a car horn, which took me out of the tranquil experience, but I suppose that is to be expected at a spa in the heart of the city. The prices are in line with what one would expect for a nice spa in an urban setting. Overall a relaxing visit and a great way to kick off summer.
