My partner and I were thinking of trying a new spot in Burbank. We came upon this street in its beautiful holiday lighting and were on the lookout for a delicious looking burger joint called "Smashed Burbank." We were already coming up with hilarious puns we could make.. 'That burger smashed!' 'Smash or pass? Smash!' .. But unfortunately, we were both disappointed the moment we took a bite into the burgers. Got the "Smashed Double" and my boyfriend got the "Smashed Triple". The burgers were small, the patties stretched thin so make sure to get either a 'double' or 'triple'. The buns practically deflated once you took an adequate-sized bite. This was the fastest I ever went through a burger, which is unusual because I take small bites and eat slow. You get charged extra if you want to add simple things like a piece of lettuce, slice of tomato, etc.. My partner and I remarked that this was an equivalent to an In-N-Out burger, but with a twist, and it certainly wasn't better, especially for the price. We definitely felt like we overpaid. The burger presented itself also looked so small? The Smashed Fries helped add some more calories in. However, it was basically a basket of fries with a bunch of the same sauce stuffed in the burger mixed with chunks of the beef patty. We left in under 15 minutes of getting our meal and didn't feel satisfied, still feeling hungry. We didn't want to spend anymore money however and just dealt with it the rest of the night. The interior design was unique and cool. The tables were spotless and clean, the staff was friendly.. but unfortunately, my partner and I are going to pass on this. read more

The burgers here were delicious. I got a double smash burger, and it melted in my mouth like butter. I do wish the burgers were bigger, but the combo meal comes with a lot of fries, which you can share with someone else. They have a kiosk where you can order your food, and the wait time wasn't too long. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. read more

Easily the best smash burger place in LA. I'm very picky when it comes to burgers and especially smashed fries and we tried this place for the first time yesterday and it exceeded my expectations. I added a patty to my smashed fries but my girlfriend got the fries without the extra patty and even hers had a generous amount of beef. And the woman who took our order was incredibly nice. Food came out pretty fast for a place. And even though we took the food to go, the location had a cool 80's vibe going on that was fun. It was good but nothing too special - Double old fashion: the old fashion comes with the addition of ketchup, mustard and raw onions compared their regular smashed burgers. If you like ketchup and mustard on your burgers, i would suggest this - Chopped cheese: this comes on a sub sandwich and the patty is chopped and mixed in with cheese and onions topped with lettuce, pickles, and tomatoes. Smashed Burger uses premium, natural Black Angus beef, and their ingredients are 100% halal. Also, all their fries are hand-cut. The best part? My family and I love trying new burger spots. We enjoyed our burgers, they were flavorful. The bun was fluffy and it came with grilled onions and house sauce. They typically also come with cheese and pickles, but I asked to not have them. I think for the price it would be nice to have lettuce and tomato included, but nonetheless the burger was still really good. I tried the Cajun fries, and the fries itself are really good and crispy but had a lot of Cajun seasoning on them. They ended up being very salty but when paired with the house sauce they were good. I let the cashier know and was told the transaction was canceled and a new order was placed/charged for the correct item. She told me I would see the refund within a few days. After waiting a few days and not seeing the refund, I went back to the establishment and informed the same cashier that I never received the refund. After some back and forth and claiming to not finding that particular transaction in the system she told me the manager would call me and of course that never happened. This burger joint is 10/10. I get an old fashioned burger and fries every time I visit. The last trip included a Nutella milkshake, which was divine. The burgers are tasty, melty, smashed to perfection. I recommend ordering one meal and an additional burger to split between two people. They give you a LOT of fries when you get a meal. Do NOT skip the milkshake. I'd like to think I'll go for strawberry next time, but the Nutella flavor is locked in my mind. I came to this place in a whim because I wanted a vegan burger. Maybe this place is delicious for non vegans but the vegan patty was not it. The bread is almost a brioche so it's thick, I felt I was eating just bread with the patty being so thin. The patty is soy based but all I saw were chopped veggies and corn. I guess the buyer wasn't terrible but when I think burger, I want a hearty beyond/ impossible party. For $18, I think I will stick my loyalty to Vurger Guyz. I ordered two double smash burgers for delivery from door dash and really enjoyed them. Since I did not visit the physical location, such details won't be included in this review. The burgers were a standard size for a smash burger, which tends to be slightly smaller than a traditional burger. I thought the bun/patty/pickle/onion/sauce ratios were solid and worked together to create a well balanced tasting burger. The doubles were quite filling even for someone who can eat large quantities of food like myself. I went with the doubles but there were also single and triple options available but for smash burgers I've noticed that a double works best. There are so many smash burger spots popping up everywhere these days, some are better than others but this spot is very clearly in the middle. You're not getting something wildly mind blowing or something inedible, you're getting a safe smash burger that tastes good and won't send you to bankruptcy court. Ok, the reason why I wasn't too keen on this place was because of what you pay for and what you get. The I ordered a double or combo #2. They asked if I wanted lettuce and tomatoes, I said yes and bam extra charges of .50 per item. I was shocked to see this charge but what can I do right? Then you wait 30 min for your order and hope for the food to be piping hot. Burgers were ok temp and the fries were also lukewarm. The turnoff for me was the tiny burgers with super dried crispy meat Patties and fries that were fresh cut but tasted like they were fried with bad oil. Forget about getting the smashed fries, it's basically animal style fries with ground meat on top. Honestly, if I would have to choose, stick to Inn N Out where everything is fresh, piping hot and way cheaper with great flavors. Sad that I have to say this didn't even add up to a fast food restaurant. On a brighter note, I found the bakery across the street to be extremely high quality. Give Artelice patisserie a try. I would give a 5/5 for the burger itself. They use the martins potato rolls for the buns which make all the difference. It comes as a basic burger with cheese and pickles. Any other thing you want to add is extra $. We got two double doubles with cheese fries and 2 waters. We paid $40.70. That's realy expensive for two burger combos. You would think cheese fries would have American cheese but they put nacho cheese. Nacho cheese and fries DO NOT mix. That's strictly for chips. Couldn't even eat my fries. At least mention to the customers that it's nacho cheese. There's plenty of seating and parking structures around. Anyways, if you're a smashed burger fan then yes try it but it's expensive compared other great ones I've tried. read more
