But unfortunately, we were both disappointed the moment we took a bite into the burgers. Got the "Smashed Double" and my boyfriend got the "Smashed Triple". The burgers were small, the patties stretched thin so make sure to get either a 'double' or 'triple'. The buns practically deflated once you took an adequate-sized bite. This was the fastest I ever went through a burger, which is unusual because I take small bites and eat slow. You get charged extra if you want to add simple things like a piece of lettuce, slice of tomato, etc.. My partner and I remarked that this was an equivalent to an In-N-Out burger, but with a twist, and it certainly wasn't better, especially for the price. We definitely felt like we overpaid. The burger presented itself also looked so small? The Smashed Fries helped add some more calories in. However, it was basically a basket of fries with a bunch of the same sauce stuffed in the burger mixed with chunks of the beef patty. We left in under 15 minutes of getting our meal and didn't feel satisfied, still feeling hungry. We didn't want to spend anymore money however and just dealt with it the rest of the night. I do wish the burgers were bigger, but the combo meal comes with a lot of fries, which you can share with someone else. It took almost 20 minutes to get my which is not a big deal but when i went up to ask if i might have missed my number i was brushed off and told to give them a second. Easily the best smash burger place in LA. I'm very picky when it comes to burgers and especially smashed fries and we tried this place for the first time yesterday and it exceeded my expectations. I added a patty to my smashed fries but my girlfriend got the fries without the extra patty and even hers had a generous amount of beef. And the woman who took our order was incredibly nice. Food came out pretty fast for a place. And even though we took the food to go, the location had a cool 80's vibe going on that was fun. I think for the price it would be nice to have lettuce and tomato included, but nonetheless the burger was still really good. I tried the Cajun fries, and the fries itself are really good and crispy but had a lot of Cajun seasoning on them. They ended up being very salty but when paired with the house sauce they were good. I visit this location frequently for lunch. I have no issue with the food. My issue is with the service. I placed an order and when I went to pick it up, it was the wrong item. I let the cashier know and was told the transaction was canceled and a new order was placed/charged for the correct item. She told me I would see the refund within a few days. After waiting a few days and not seeing the refund, I went back to the establishment and informed the same cashier that I never received the refund. After some back and forth and claiming to not finding that particular transaction in the system she told me the manager would call me and of course that never happened. Ok, the reason why I wasn't too keen on this place was because of what you pay for and what you get. The I ordered a double or combo #2. They asked if I wanted lettuce and tomatoes, I said yes and bam extra charges of .50 per item. I was shocked to see this charge but what can I do right? Then you wait 30 min for your order and hope for the food to be piping hot. Burgers were ok temp and the fries were also lukewarm. The turnoff for me was the tiny burgers with super dried crispy meat Patties and fries that were fresh cut but tasted like they were fried with bad oil. Forget about getting the smashed fries, it's basically animal style fries with ground meat on top. Honestly, if I would have to choose, stick to Inn N Out where everything is fresh, piping hot and way cheaper with great flavors. Sad that I have to say this didn't even add up to a fast food restaurant. On a brighter note, I found the bakery across the street to be extremely high quality. Give Artelice patisserie a try.
