Smashburger - Burgers Near Me - Edison, New Jersey

A friend purchased the 100 days smash pass. And they kept posting all the things they ate on all of their social media accounts. And it made me hungry. But all of their post has never convinced me to go to Smashburger. Finally had a chance to go and good thing i never made it a priority. For being a burger spot trying to compete with all these trendy other joints, they didnt have a lot to offer. I was looking for like a triple burger heart attack of some sort, but the menu was boring, more like a typical restaurant burger. EVERYTHING WAS SALTY. Although the smash fries were surprisingly appetizing. But still salty. If you don't want to eat fast food chain burgers, I guess Smashburger is better alternative. But if you are willing to spend at least $10 for a burger, you can find better. read more

Turned into an excellent alternative to the hustle and bustle of the adjoining food court and as an added bonus, there is a soda fountain with complimentary refills. A major advantage over the food court. I had a Cobb Salad topped by a burger and with the spicy chipotle mayo which had quite a kick. For $8.99 this was very filling and pretty tasty. The fried egg included in the salad is an added plus. read more

When I say I am so appalled, I am beyond appalled by the atrocious service that I received this evening at the Menlo Park Edison Smashburger . We entered smashburger at 7:50pm & by the time I ordered a milk for Liv it was 7:59pm. I gave Liv her milk and informed her that we probably couldn't make it to Chiplote Grill due to the time that the mall closes (which is at 8pm). We then decided to order dinner from @Smashburger. I came back on the line and I now am the last customer with a person in front of me. The supposed story manager Brittany starts cleaning up and I tell her I am ready to order. She responds that she is "closed." I tell her but I am in your store and that she recently took my daughter's milk order. She states she's sorry, but that it is ten mins after 8 and that she "needs to let her team go home." I said Miss I don't want to order for myself just at min order fries for my daughter and she states that "it is not my responsibility to feed your child." I then ask for the corporate number and she comes out with a damn survey website. I said "you are not talking to a fool and that I am not leaving until I get the corporate number so call your manager to get it." She goes on the phone, but supposedly she's the boss and then miraculously finds the corporate number. I will NEVER go to smashburger again after this terrible service. Really, you couldn't provide fries after I seen that they were cooked already. read more

First time here and i must say it was decent. Def some shake shack vibes coming from this place. Can't be compared though. We ordered 2 smash burger originals and fries. I ordered mine without onions cause I don't like raw onion. But ofc they forgot and when I opened my burger it was filled with onion. Boo. But I picked them out, still had onion taste in the burger though. But other then that the burger was decent. A bit dry for my taste but still good since it was my first meal of the day. Price is similar to shake shack so if I were to choose I'd spend my money at shake shack. The fries were too thin for my taste and oily. It was like eating fried oil? Does that make sense lol. read more

This Smashburger is always busy, but that says how good it is! The employees are always friendly and help you, and generally know the answers to most questions you ask. I always get a craft your own big burger and it doesn't disappoint. Other than the price and the wait, it's a good place to stop for the best burger in the food court. My tip is to download the app, as they currently have a promotion for a free entree with a purchase of a drink and side. Delicious! read more

Smashburger - To go container - Burgers Near Me - Edison, New Jersey

Understaffed and overbooked for subpar food. Thought we'd give this place a shot but still waiting 40+ minutes for a burger. Go to Cheesecake Factory, it's probably faster and better quality. My burger is ice cold from sitting at the window for nearly 20minutes. The person handing out the food waits for your burger before calling a fry drop then let's it's sit. Literally the most deficient method. read more

Ordered to go. Ingredients were missing and everything was slim. A spinach salad with 10 leaves? Cobb salad missing ingredients. Burger missing ingredients. Sorry not worth the price. Brussel sprouts were super greasy, burnt and had a fry in them, as if they never change the oil and fry them together. Burnt brussel sprouts yea. Missing guac and jalapenos on my black bean burger and other ingredients of my cobb salad. Seems some places take advantage of to go orders making them less and crappy unless this is their standard read more

Honestly if I could give zero stars, I would. The food was absolutely terrible. I felt like I was at the airport with the high prices and crappy quality of food. Such a waste of money. I ordered the Jersey burger, which came extremely salty and dry, with burnt fried onions. My nephew ordered the buffalo burger which came as a slice of beef thinner than a piece of paper and topping that were old and dry - a couple of dried up blue cheese crumbles .. both sandwiches were a disgrace that could hurt a person's feelings ... read more

Orders are taken quickly at the register and you are given the option of dining in or taking out. When you dine in, you're given placard with a number. A server then brings your food out to you. I ordered the black bean avocado burger with smash fries. The burger was a lot bigger than the bun and pepper jack cheese was melted in it with only two slices of avocado (last time I was here I was given 4 skies). The burger was perfection. It was smooth, a bit spicy (from the cheese) and cool from the avocado and lettuce. He smash fries are flavored, warm, and some are crunchy. The ones on the bottom were a teeny bit soggy. Definitely coming again when I have a bit appetite and up for going the Menlo Park Mall read more

Fresh and somewhat healthier alternative to BK and Mac. There is not much to write here besides the fact that the place is clean and food is fresh. The staff is dedicated and provides sit down restaurant style service with no extra charge of tips. The food is made fresh. I really like the grill chicken Baja burger and smash fries. The prices are justified by the quality of the food. As always you have to try it to believe it. #happyeatin read more

Customer service was on the meh end . When I arrived to the establishment the person at the counter was talking to an individual instead of placing my order. Overall tho , the wait time on the burger was quick and they offered me a free coupon for one side which was awesome so it pretty much evened out. The food was a mix bag. I ordered the Jalepeno Baja Burger with drink and fries. The main problem was that there was literally no jalapenos on my burger and it was not spicy whatsoever ( As being jalapenos being the first word you would think that this would be the main item ). Everything else tho tasted great and fresh. The fries just stunk . They were small and tasted like they were in a deep fryer for too long. Now I understand that this is not Five Guys but for paying more I expected some sort of quality. Soda was refillable and it was just like any fast food joint. for the price they offered I was not impressed. Too small portioned in terms of hyped condiments and bland fries. The only thing that was great was the quality of the burger and the customer service. If you want a better burger then go somewhere else. read more

Yeah this Smashburger's rating is about right, at a three. Amazing burgers, sometimes too salty-- I mentioned it to the cashier today though and I do think that there was not extra salt put on my burger. So that was good. I love the truffle mushroom swiss and get it almost every time. If you want to save a couple bucks, just get the regular burger and not one of their special burgers. A couple of drawbacks is that it's more expensive than the Smashburger in other locations, such as North Brunswick. Tonight it was slow, but I don't usually have that experience. Tempted to give them a four for listening to me about the salt tonight. That's the kid with the man bun. But for the higher price here you would expect better service. The girl who was cashiering before him was the one slowing things down on purpose. I've seen them be not helpful to people trying to order or understand the menu, or people asking questions, etc. I think it really depends on who happens to be working-- I think some of the people here would be nice. read more

Their burgers literally taste delicious. The fact that you can actually order what you do and do not want on it is amazing. Essentially the add-on options provided are extensive and well selected. Extremely friendly wait staff. The smash fries are a little sad and thin but the seasoning they put on them is very good. read more

I Love Smashburger except this location. Please oh please don't try to give the cooks in the back extra work like extra toppings in your burger! it will make their mind explode, information overload. These guys can never follow simple friggin instructions. Extra onion strings with spicy mayo sauce and pepper jack cheese is too much for them to remember even though it's printed in the darn receipt. Where do they find the cooks for this place, they need to start looking for a new one. This is the 3rd time it has happened to me. Shame on me for even going and giving them a 3rd chance. read more

Earlier this week I witnessed a customer return an incorrect sandwich after leaving the store with it. The kitchen employee then realizes his mistake & tells the counter employee to hand this same sandwich to a little boy who I noticed had been waiting a very long time. I was very uncomfortable with how this little boys money had been taken, he was made to wait over 15 mins, and was given a burger that had left the store. The employee that handed him the burger had no idea whether it was bitten or what could have happened to it. I addressed both employees that took part in this very distasteful event (the kitchen and counter rep) only to be dismissed as if this was acceptable practice. I then told the little guy to give the USED sandwich back and take me to his mom so that I could let her know how her child was treated. I was very disappointed to see a child being taken advantage of. By the way, there was no management to be found. read more

For some reason my boyfriend had some fascination when we found out this place opened in Menlo Mall so we actually ate here two times. The burgers themselves are tasty, but I honestly think Five Guys' burgers a little bit more flavorful. The fries are cut really freakishly thin, and they're honestly not that good to me, but still better than Five Guys' fries. Also, I think I had some wild expectation for their smash sauce, but it just tastes like pickles, mustard and mayo. Plus, I'm not sure if it's because they just opened, but this place takes a little long to bring out food and also they sometimes don't bring all your food out at the same time. All in all, it's a nice burger addition to the mall, but I've had better. read more

During my most recent experience last week, the host (name is Brittany according to the receipt) took my to-go order and I walked over to my mom, who was seated, just to confirm that she didn't want cheese on her burger. The host then yelled in an accusatory tone from the register, "Excuse me, is there something wrong???" I turned and looked around to see who she was talking to and she was looking right at me. Wtf! I must have looked confused enough for her to realize she was yelling at me for no reason. If I didn't pay already, I would have walked out. Over my several visits here I've noted that they're slow to clean tables (example: three tables unoccupied and none were clear of food and trash until we asked, and even then they didn't wipe down the table) and customers are always sending back food or having issues with the to-go orders. Already complained on their website, I hope they do something about this location. The customer service is unreal, in the worst way. read more

This smash burger is pretty standard as far as the chain goes. They're a little lacking in cleanliness for my lacking. They're also typically understaffed and the burgers take about 10 minutes because they're made fresh but I prefer my fast food, fast. My favorite is the mushroom Swiss. read more

Smashburger - Classic burger and sweet potato fries - Burgers Near Me - Edison, New Jersey

I've had Smashburger before in the Piscataway location. The burgers were good there. Here, they are sad. i got the smashburger with the works, regular size like i always get. The burger patty that came was laughably small. 3/4 the size of the bun. The french style matchstick fries were always done perfectly crispy at the Piscataway location too. The ones i got to tonight were shrivelled and greasy. What a waste of money!!!!!!!!! What I did try and liked was the veggie frites, which are flash fried string beans and carrot sticks. Decent flavor, but again, the beans were shrivelled and greasy. Maybe I'll go back to the Piscataway store and try it there. Bet it's better there. read more

I am very impressed with the service I was acquainted with. Although the food was slow out, the service definitely made up for it. I'm at the Menlo location and the service is awful, it started with the person taking the order playing with his dreads to the service I received, 16 minutes after I placed my order the food came with the most measly portion of fries I've ever had at any other Smashburger location and it took 25 minutes for the milk shake to come.... awful service will never come here again!!!!! Would give 0 stars if I could. I NEVER take the time to give bad reviews because I generally like to give people the benefit of the doubt. But after getting my order wrong twice I gave up on getting what I wanted and was going to suck it up and eat whatever they gave me as I was starving. One bite and I had to throw my food out, it was absolutely abysmal. I made my girlfriend throw hers out as well on principal. Not to mention we were basically locked in the restaurant since they closed the grate soon after we ordered. Awful food, awful experience, will not ever be going to one of these again. Had it not closed I would've demanded a refund, worst use of $20 I can possibly imagine. read more

I've been meaning to try Smash Burger and was glad that this mall had one. What I ended up with was one of the saltiest meals I've ever had. First off I'm fully aware that pickles are salty but the fried pickles were not only not crispy instead they were soggy. They were seasoned which makes no sense to me. why would you salt something already salty and serve it to someone. The burger was good but also a bit on the salty side. Not sure i'll be back. read more

This place is horrible. The "triple bacon" burger has 2 anemic patties with THREE COUNT THEM THREE pieces of bacon. The burger comes out dripping with grease and is soaked with ketchup and mustard. Most of the time I stop here to eat when I am at the mall. Burgers are good for the price and their smash fries are so yummy! Today, I decided to have lunch at Smashburgers in the Menlo Mall. This was my first time visiting any Smashburgers. I got over there just before 12:45. There were two people on line in front of me. As I started to give my order to the girl a woman came up and barged her way to speak with the girl telling her there was an insect or some other foreign object imbedded in her hamburger roll. The girl took her tray and proceeded to rectify her order. I had some immediate concerns but I clearly had a good view of the roll and I didn't notice anything unusual. Some people are excessively concerned with perceived issues with their food. I decided to continue with my order when the girl returned , which was a few minutes. The line was now getting kind of long behind me. I ordered my burger and fries at 12:52 and decided to eat in the restaurant. They gave me a order card, number 33, and told me they would bring my meal to my table. I grabbed a drink and sat at my table to await my meal. I soon began to realize there were some issues in the restaurant. There was a table in the back that was piled at least two feet high with trays of previous customers garbage. Pretty disgusting. The line grew longer and became somewhat boisterous over the wait. Some left for other restaurants in the food court. It was taking quite long for my order to come. I had enough after 25 minutes and seeing people who were on line behind me and eating in the restaurant get their food before me and other customers on line behind me who took their orders to go. I went up to the counter to demand my money back. There were numerous to go orders and other orders to stay under the heat lamps but not mine. When I asked the girl for my money back she said she could not do it, only the manager could. The manager (actually ass't mgr) was processing orders. Then my order came up and I reiterated I did not want it any more and I wanted my money back. After a few more minutes of waiting I asked the girl how long I had to wait to get my money back she replied, "I have no idea." I got kind of loud and told her to get the manager out NOW! The assistant manager finally came out and offered an extremely timid apology and mentioned they were short staffed. To me she clearly did not have the required managerial skills to handle the situation in the restaurant. There was no advance notice that the restaurant was experiencing difficulties and the wait time was beyond normal. Rather than caring for their customer base they were clearly trying to ring up sales regardless of the inconvenience caused to their clients. They lost me as a potential client and I hope others be more vigilant to the service activities of this restaurant. Zero stars for me!!! read more

I think this place is absolutely disgusting. It's not clean and, while they will "brick" the stovetop grill if you're a vegetarian, they don't really clean it off so your food will taste like beef. The entire place smells like cow carcass. The only cool thing is that the to-go ketchup comes in a small plastic container that's shaped like a Heinz ketchup bottle. Otherwise, stay away!!!! There are so many better options out there. read more

Probably one of the better location, the food is ok the only problem at this one is not cleaning the dinning room.
