We had such a strange and confusing experience here recently. When we arrived, there was a sign on the stand when you walk in that said "please wait to be seated". There was no host, but occasionally the bartender would sneak away from his full bar to seat people. We waited for about 10-15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us and seat us. A large line started to form behind us. We should've taken this as our sign to leave. We were seated at a table and were not given any menus or menu QR codes, so we looked up the menu online. There seemed to be a lot of employees working, but no one was really doing anything except for the bartender, who was server an entire bar and also seating people. Several different employees walked by our table, but no one stopped by our table for about 15-20 minutes. We finally asked an employee if she was our server when she walked by and she ignored us and kept walking. When she was on her way back to a table in our section, she said she would be with us shortly. About 5 minutes later she came over and asked what we wanted to order, then saw we didn't have menus and asked if we needed some. We told her our milkshake order and she made a face and rudely said to us "Uh, those aren't even on the menu? We don't even have those?" Since we weren't given menus when we were seated, we were basing our order off of the online menu, which said what we ordered was available. She then rudely told us they only had vanilla shakes. It was frustrating to be talked to as if we should have known. I completely understand being in the weeds or overwhelmed with customers, especially in a high turnover airport environment. However, there was no urgency, teamwork, or quality customer service here at this location. We weren't treated kindly from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. Sat at the bar and ordered both a smash burger and chicken smash burger. My partner attempted to order a specific burger and wanted modifications, but because of the amount of modifications our server Evette made him change his order to something else which he didn't want. When it came out wrong and my partner asked, she immediately got angry with us. Evette was incredibly rude and spoke to my partner like a child, shaking a thing of sauce in our faces. She blamed making us change our order on "language barriers" in the kitchen telling us she doesn't know what she's dealing with with them. read more

When travelling to Des Moines from Reno, (and back) my Southwest flight often connects through Terminal C at DEN in the morning. You'll usually find me at McDonald's as their bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit (with OJ) is a favorite. But the last time around, I tried out Smashburger's breakfast sandwich (with OJ). Observations: 1. The line was manageable. 2. Counter service was efficient and interesting. 3. My combo was significantly more expensive than the Golden Arches. 4. The breakfast sandwich is on a bun and it's a lot of food. 5. Tasty choice, although the whole breakfast burger thing was weird. Smashburger is really the only hot food option in this area of the airport, and bless their hearts, they try their best, but they definitely get in the weeds and backed up. The customer service was great- shout out to William- who remained cheerful and positive even when customers weren't the happiest. He definitely deserves a raise! There was quite a wait to get our food (thank goodness we weren't in a rush to get on our flight). It was about 20 minutes total. The food itself was just ok. Definitely not the best Smashburger we've had. The burger was sloppily constructed and fries and tots weren't hot. And of course airport prices are super high. With limited options, we wouldn't complain too much, but I hope they either improve or other dining options become available. And give William a raise! read more

This place was right out of the gate (near gate B46/B45). They have a full sit in dining and a to-go area. Went in without any expectations. Barely made it on the breakfast cut off time and was able to get the bacon/egg/cheese sandwich. Boy this was so good. The egg was also well made to where the edges were crispy. It was also served fast, not even 3 min. Before I was done with the breakfast order, the cheese danish pastry was calling to me so I ordered it. It was satisfying. We ordered their main burgers as I wanted more: The double truffle mushroom burger. This one was very juicy and very filling. Love the mushroom. The classic grilled chicken sandwich was also very good as the chicken wasn't dry. Meat was soft and juicy. It was also very aromatic. Service was great and speedy!!! There were servers & bartenders a few of them made eye contact with me while I was waiting ....the restaurant was about 80% full Including the bar. I waited for about five minutes before anybody came up to the podium to ask me what I needed. I asked for a table at the window. There were two open. the host told me those tables were reserved for four . One of the other tables only had two people there. No other dishes or drinks or evidence to indicate that there were two more people that were part of the party and had just stepped away from the table. I pointed that out to the host and said that table only has two people. Other than that, there were only single seats at the bar, which I did not want. I went there. the same bossy waitress came and said, sir are you ready to order, she was saying sir but her tone was very rigid and very much like order now. anyway, I knew what I want so I order smash burger, fries and a coke. she brought coke and my burger in less than 1 min. and I mean less than 60 sec. I was impressed as I was going on my flight so yeah why not. when I touch my burger to pick it up, it was cold. I mean the bun was not even at room temperature, it was cold. first I thought, suck it up and get it over with, but then I changed my mind and called her and said it's very cold. she said, in a condescending tone, sir it was made when you ordered. I said, " ma'am it's cold". she said it's probably due to the vegs inside, I said ma'am, it's very cold and from the outside, she literally made a face and took my burger. this time it took few mins, and came back with another smash burger. this one was warm from the inside but again the bun from outside was very cold. The best way to induce vomiting on a Friday night is to stop here while en route to your flight. Located by gate C50 (Southwest Airlines gate area) on Concourse C, Smashburger is among the last chances you'll get for a hot meal prior to your flight. For an airport location, this Smashburger franchise is unbelievably slow. Slow, slow, SLOW! 7 minutes to even get acknowledged (and I sat close to the kitchen area), and another 7 minutes to get a check. What is interesting is that I ordered an Avocado & bacon club sandwich, just to find that it was on top of a burger (club sandwiches usually are turkey, tomato, etc). I reluctantly agreed to eat it, given that I had to eat something before flying back to Dallas. Burger was slightly undercooked, yet I hardly had time to get another one. The saving grace may have been the rosemary fries with olive oil, and local IPA brew from Fort Collins for $8. Altogether, I'm out $22 for the night. This location could've been better. It HAS to get better. If I wanted garbage the next time I'm in Denver, I'll tip the men's bathroom trashcan over into my mouth rather than eat here again. read more
