If I could give less than one star, I would! We have been using them for almost a year. The walls…read morein my unit are wet and many of my items have mold on them now. And everything that was in that large climate controlled unit are exposed to mold spores. I have to now wipe and clean everything. my unit has lacked climate control many times and after repeated calls, no one returned my call. When the climate control was repaired one of the times, I did get a phone call from someone telling me that the heat was turned on by accident! When I explained to her the issues I was having in my unit with mold and dampness and that boxes were collapsing because of it, she told me that does not happen to cardboard boxes and she told me I was an ungrateful customer and she hung up on me. That lady needs an education! Do not use public storage! Even the local property manager does not call you back. It should be the property manager's job to check and be sure that the AC unit is working every single day for those they are collecting money on climate controlled rentals.

I have mixed feelings about Public Storage in Raleigh (Glenwood Ave). The first meeting was great…read morewith a price of about $150 per month for a 20 x 10 feet climate controlled box. Space was clean and easy to access. Quickly the price was bumped to $250 a month (after the 6 months of honeymoon). 3 Months later another bump to $330 per month. That is a $180 increase in 9 months (December 2024 to September 2025). I just wish my income would follow the same trends. Clearly, they don't want you to stay and will squeeze you until you leave. That is too bad as I am storing mostly books and Models that will not rot or attract any pests. When I move out, I wish them someone who will store nasty and dirty stuff. They truly deserve it.

I am extremely upset with regard to how I was initially lied to. I called many facilities, trying…read moreto find one that both had an available 10x20 unit and would take annual payments. When I called Extra Space, I was told that there was a 10x20 unit available and that they did indeed take annual payments. They said that they would have to do it in two charges of six months each. But after taking the first payment, the story suddenly changed and I was told that I could not pay for the second six months in advance. So, now I'm forced to find another facility and move my belongings a second time. Had they initially told me that I couldn't pay annually, I would have kept searching for another unit. The amount of time and expense that I will have to spend in order to move my belongings again makes me furious. On the positive side, the unit was immaculately clean, and carts are available to move belongings. It seems to be a safe place to leave belongings. For those reasons, I'm giving them two stars.

Email from the managers clearly stating they don't really know what's transpiring on the property…read moreor who is accessing stored property. Isn't that why I paid to store my vehicle there, behind a gate that requires a code for acccess? For SECURITY purposes?? Beware that they clearly state that non-approved vehicles/persons can "tailgate in" behind another vehicle to access the property and access YOUR belongings illegally. They state they are not monitoring this activity, despite the massive security camera presence. This issue could have been alleviated had they simply asked for a photo ID of the tow truck driver claiming to be ME!!! Or calling ME (who pays the monthly storage fee) to verify I was having said vehicle towed away. But no! It never happened. "Please understand this, the tow truck company could have tailgated in, took the vehicle and tailgated out, this is something I would have had no control of, after speaking to your brother last night I feel that one way or another the Blue Cadillac was being towed off our property yesterday with or without my knowledge. One last thing, the towing company did not need our assistance, they knew exactly where to go to, which car to pick up and tow away, also they knew where to take the vehicle." We have used multiple storage companies throughout various States while serving in the military and government contracting in the last 35 years. Do not use!! * Your unit gets your lock cut off and storage lock is put on when/if your payment doesn't post by day 5 into your billing cycle. * Some young kid is managing office with no clue on life. * There are only 4 carts available to load and carry items to and fro vehicle to storage unit. If needed on weekends forget it!! * 4 payment increases within a 12 month period and services had no upgrades from day one until we vacated the unit. This is the worst storage unit EVER ... EVER !!
