MY Husband and my brother in-law both went to look at the storage units on the Smithfield Rd one. When they were told that it is a well lit area, very clean and the staff was very nice. My husband decided to sign with them. He also got two others to get a unit as well which if you send them business they are suppose to give you $75 per person, He never received it and when asked about it they acted like those people were not in the computer system. Which I know they are. DUH..one is my brother in-law and the other a cousin. So they played us. The day he was moving in, the unit had not been cleaned out from the prior renters. So he had to clean it out before he was even able to unload, but the biggest issues is that they false advertise. When they say "the place is very clean" yeah..no they are not. Besides having to clean out the unit before we moved stuff in. We had to go grab a few things from the unit and when opened the door there was a bunch of mouse/rat droppings everywhere, furniture ,clothes, toys, ext completely destroyed. As we are looking around at the damage I happen to look up and see that the wall that separates the units is not even all the way to the ceiling it is about a foot from the top, then in front of his unit there was trash and debris in front of the unit. We had to go buy a broom and some cleaner and clean as much as we could,but because it started getting dusk out we could not even get close to finish cleaning and their was barely any light we ended up having to get flashlights and use the truck lights to just gather what we needed, lock back up and go. To top it all off we ended up with nails in 3 tires and one through my shoe. ( which STEVE had nothing to say about our 3 flat tires and the nail that just barely missed my foot) Oh, yes we did take pictures and called to make a complaint to the manager Steve. We called over a dozen times,but he never returned out calls then one day we call again and long behold Steve answers the phone. We told him the problems and asked if either we could get a month free or even just cut the payment in half since we have to clear everything out, clean it, and plus a lot like I said was destroyed. All he could say is "it is no different than having a garage". REALLY!?!?! So my husband asked him for his bosses number he replies "I am the boss" "no you incompetent ,unfriendly person (STEVE) " I will make it easy for you I would like corporates number. STEVE hung up on me. My husband called him right back and told him that our lawyer will be in touch. My father in-law is a lawyer and did call and we ended up getting corporates number. We sent the pictures over and explained everything. From the lighting to the trash to how un-friendly and un-professional Steve is. They were not happy at all,with the disgusting photos, how the place is not being kept up. They were very nice and helpful and told us they would have a talk with Steve about how he treats customers. They say they work with you,but they don't. They cannot wait to auction off your unit. Most places work with you,but not this place. We had to go to California because we had to get a funeral ready for our grandmother that passed. We called Steve to let him know that we were out of state and the reason and we will be in by the end of the month to pay. " his words were well I hope you are back and in here by the 26th or I will be getting your unit ready for auction. I have never in my life dealt with someone as rude , heartless and arrogant as him. I personally cannot wait till we are able to move the stuff that is still good out of there and never have to deal with STEVE AND THAT PLACE AGAIN,

#2-it is not a very well lit area at all
#3- they do not keep it clean
#4- they do not care for their customers
#5- Steve is beyond happy to auction your stuff off asap and really knows how to make a bad situation worse read more
