When it came time to pay he told I was not eligible for the discount because of a fine print detail. I believe it was you had to book online and not over the phone. He also had a crazy list of things he wanted me to do to pass inspection. Some of them were legit and I had the issues fixed, but some of the things were using his magical headlight defogger at over $100 for the service! I took it to a new shop and had the work done there. If you really want someone to help you with your car/truck troubles or you need an expert opinion this is absolutely the wrong place to go. I had AC issues and I went to them couple of times and both times they procrastinated by saying either they did not have an expert available or fixing it would take a long while. I got another specific appointment for a day they agreed was good to have it looked at and rectify (I have a Honda Accord '06). They came back saying everything from the refrigerant to the compressor need to be replaced and gave me a $925 quote! There was a separate quote with original parts which went up to $3000 I don't exactly remember the number. Needless to say, I took it to another place and they just replaced the refrigerant liquid and it seems to work absolutely fine. Unfortunate that they had to be dishonest about something so basic. The guys at Ootmar answered all my questions with a lot of patience and passion for their work - they communicated really well and eventually helped to solve a problem with a dying crankshaft sensor. They provided a courtesy car as well, which was very nice. I'll definitely recommend them and go back the next time I need any work on my car!

I bought a 2001 Honda Civic LX 2 years ago with 180 000km on it already. I have done my regular oil changes every 5000 km, but the engine was starting to make a few "off" noises and when I went over speed bumps there would be a large clunking noise from the suspension. So back I went and they offered a free quote on what they saw the initial problems being without taking apart the whole engine. I went to two other local repair shops Axle Alley and Rudy & Peters who also offered free quotes but did not go to the extent to show me the actual problems, and both came in a few hundred dollars more. The next day I called David the owner back and they took my car in right away. They fixed the car up and called when they found another small issue with the transmission to see if I wanted to repair it as well .Two days later it was all fixed they threw in a free oil change then Mike the other owner walked me through all the new pieces and changes that had been done. The car is running much better, but it is still early. I do feel as if I have found a trust worthy mechanic here in Vancouver I would be happy to refer my friends to.

The service and price to fix your car is very reasonable and they don't overcharge. Other places are compartmentalized so your always redirected to another department before you even get to the repair shop and you don't ever talk to the actual person who knows cars.
