I called at around 12ish on Saturday thinking that they may not be open or even if they are they may not have time for my very very small job. To my pleasant surprise, after a few rings, a gentleman answered and after telling him my problem, he asked me to see him at 3:30pm! He did say that they are very busy but still willing to take a look see for me, naturally, I expressed my appreciation! On arrival, I was a bit taken with how busy this little shop is, but only after standing at the counter for about 5 mins. I was acknowledged by Jackson (the gentleman on the phone), he immediately took my car in and asked us to come back in about an hour. Seeing how friendly everyone is when they come in, I know that all are regulars, which is a good sign already! Jackson, then proceeded to check my car and his advice was to use another power outlet instead since the car's USB may not have enough voltage for my multi-headed charger. He also checked all the fuses and they all turned out fine. With mystery solved, I am now happy to use the other power outlet. Jackson was so nice that he only changed me a minimum fee, which is very generous of him to do so! There are three reviews below that "aren't recommended" but I believe each and every word. The guys at Dependable are just that. Dependable. They are honest, forth coming, and they work fast. After they told me I didn't need pads, I thought it would be a good idea to get them looked at again after the last 8k kms. Turns out needed the front done, but not the back. All in with an oil change was far less than I expected, but done in a very timely manner.

Came here to get some suspension work done, on the recommendation of a friend…read more Parking is available in front of the building, but this can fill up. The owner/manager Danny (super chill and easy going guy) took care of me from the beginning. Usually I'm a bit edgy about trusting shops (including dealerships) as they've messed things up in my car before, but Danny was open when I mentioned the model-specific quirks for repairing my suspension. The other guys in the shop are easy going and friendly as well. I was able to guide them through the repair as the critical "quirky" parts of the procedures came up, and they were receptive. Very special mention for this, as most shops often have the "I know more than you do" attitude, followed by the "oh, I didn't know this repair for your car is different from other models, think I broke something" garbage. The entire shop is quite easy going, and there are cars going into and out of this place all the time. As a result, the work may take a bit longer, as the crew are switching back and forth between vehicles. But they have a nice lounge with Netflix, which kept me entertained. I also saw them offer other customers a lift to somewhere nearby such as Metropolis so they wouldn't be stuck at the shop for a few hours. During my repair, Danny even pointed out some failed components I didn't even know had broken. A quick call to the dealer to order parts, and I was back the next day. This repair took a while, but the shop was busy that day and I knew they were squeezing me in as a courtesy. No complaints. When the alignment was slightly off (common if the suspension isn't fully settled) after I picked up the car, Danny took the car right back in, no questions asked. He even took me around for a test drive so he could see the problem for himself. The price for replacing 4 controls arms, inner tie rod, and subsequent 4-wheel alignment(s) came to under $300 - almost too low, to be honest. Let's see the dealer do this work for under $1000. My suspension is now buttery smooth, and this shop has earned itself a loyal customer. Highly recommended.

Buddy had my car for a couple months trying to find parts. In that time his technician got into an accident with my car. Fine, they'll fix it and get to working on the real problem. Over the holidays, the owner of the shop decides to leave my vehicle on the street outside of his lot. Tuesday morning I get a call from VPD. "Sir, someone has broken into your car and your car is filling with rain. I call Arbutus service centre, leave a msg, don't hear back. I call back at noon the next day, speak to the owner. "Oh it's not my responsibility where your car is left, I won't be taking any responsibility for the damage caused." You couldn't even call me to give me the option to move my car out of your location if you didn't have time to work on it or it was taking space or was going to sit there over the holidays. That's what you do Steve, you call the client and say "hey, parts haven't come in, I don't have room to store your car, can you come pick it up? I'll call ya when the part is in and you can bring it back. You DON'T leave the vehicle on the street, quite simple. My car being broken into is not what bothered me, nor the fact that I trusted my vehicle with this mechanic or that I spent 5k and the mechanical issue still persisted. It was the shitty attitude and absolute lack of any ownership that made me loose 1000% respect for this person and his business. If that's the new norm, bring your car to a mechanic but you can't trust they'll keep your car safe, I call bullshit. I contacted VW & they recommended - B & D Auto Body & Glass, for some slight rear end damage I needed fixed. I saw Vi, at the front desk reception. She was excellent & informative. Left my SUV here overnight & picked it up in swanky condition the next day. The repair job made my SUV look brand new again. Very satisfied & happy. Thank gawd for insurance. Yelpies if you haven't done so - get front & rear dashcams ASAP for your car. It's getting insane out there on the roads. I don't care how old or young your car is - dashcams will save you many headaches & heartburn. See my review for BlackboxMyCar. Everything is spotlessly clean, the floors, the waiting area, how the staff are dressed, and everyone presents themselves in an organized, friendly, and professional manner. Over the years, our cars have been run into, whacked, hit, and subjected to all sorts of Vancouver's lengendary bad driver shenanigans. We have never had to take a car back, for an adjustment , or because something wasn't done right the first time. I just had my car in for repairs and the loaner car was a year old, spotlessly clean Lexus sedan. I rent cars a lot for work, and the loaner cars at B&D are so clean they look like they have been detailed after every use. I get a kick out of the staff calling to remind me to bring my car in the day before and they stage arrivals so that each customer is given the attention they need and deserve when dropping off and picking up their car. Here is an example of the level of customer service they offer. B&D has a short pull in area just off Clark Ave. Clark is a very busy street. Customers drive in and park their cars front first and their lot is a single car length deep just past the sidewalk.. B&D always turns your car and their loaner so that you can drive out front first. This simple act shows consideration, attentive care for customer safety, and sets the tone for your experience. One more thing, all of the staff are spotlessly clean, they look more like they work in health care than in an auto body shop. Bill W.
