Yes, they were the cheapest. They did the replacement on my truck rear windshield the day it was broken. It took four hours instead of one, so I got to know the waiting room intimately. Dark, saggy couches, smelly bathroom that opens directly into one of the couches. When the work was finally done it was dark and late so I left. It wasn't until the next morning that I noticed all the black adhesive smeared on my seats. And the water leaking into the ceiling of the truck. My second time there took only two hours, while one employee worked feverishly cleaning the stains with W-D 40 (WTF?) the other caught some Z's in the corner of the shop. They re-caulked the head of the window (sure, like a window in an old wood-frame house, makes total sense), apologized, and I was on my way, feeling like a sucker. My third time there they added more caulk and furnished more broken English apologies. The leak has now stopped but humid air is getting into the truck, condensing on the windows every cold night. I can't bear to go back, so I'll probably go somewhere else and have it all re-done. read more

We called and set up an appointment for a home window repair. They said they couldn't give us an exact time but would be there sometime on Saturday. At 2:30 still no show so we called the number to see where we were on the schedule. It went straight to voice mail so we left a message. At 5 pm with no call no show we gave up! read more

Don't be fooled. 1. The business manager screens calls by listening to voicemails. He never picks up the phone, he will call you back if he wants to. 2. They operate under different names and locations but still the same company. 3. Poor communication: I waited 2 days after they took my deposit before I called to inquire of installation date. I had to call rather than they call me. 4. Was given an installation date and they failed to show up. No phone call to alert me they were not coming. 5. When I talked to Mike about the installation team not showing up he said that it was his mistake, he told me Thursday, but wrote on calendar Friday. 6. Installation showed up on Friday with the wrong size window. I could tell just by looking at it on the truck it was the wrong size but they pretended to act surprised after doing a measurement. 7. Check out Better Business Bureau, BBB requested in July of 2019 that they remove the BBB endorsement sticker from their store front. They have never been a member of BBB. They have yet to comply. In summary, very frustrating to work with. Non-communication and when they do, it is filled with excuses, deceit and outright lies. read more

Horrible. Do not come here! Brought my civic in to have the passenger side window replaced after a "smash & grab" two years ago. (a bit of a wait to write a review, I know. However I wasn't a yelp member. Now, when looking to replace my windshield, I happened across them again.4 stars?! Seriously?!!! I got so agitated, I signed up just so I write a proper review. ) When I picked up my car, the window rolled up at a muuuuccch slower rate and didn't fully close. When I questioned them about this, they claimed it wouldn't close because it wasn't Honda glass. What??!! Its not like a civic is a rare vehicle! Not wanting to leave with a super slow and nearly closed window, I asked to speak to the manager. He wasn't in. I asked when he would be in- it was apparently "unpredictable". I asked to make an appointment. Impossible. SOOO frustrating! Left with no other options, I cut my losses and had it re-repaired at the Honda dealership. According to Honda's technicians, the window motor was damaged (either from the smash, or first "repair") and the glass was installed improperly. They refitted the same non-Honda window that Smart Glass put in. Turns out it CAN actually be fitted to close properly! With the new motor and refitting my window works like new again, and I only had to pay for it TWICE. I still get steamed up when I drive by Smart Glass. Bad service. Bad work. The piece of glass I got was not cut to the specs I ordered. Yet I got the right size runner from a seamstress not associated with this shoddy business ! THEY ARE REFUSING TO RE-CUT THE GLASS PER THE SIZE I ORDERED. I've been hung up on, sworn at and as with other reviews they did not apologize nor any willingness to correct their error, but they are willing to cut another piece IF I PAY FOR IT. BEWARE!! I am a very experienced automotive consumer and have had many windshields shield installed in many types of cars, as well many other services professionally done. We hired Smart Glass to install a new windshield in a late model QX56 Infinity. It was a complete disaster from the beginning. The installer damaged our vehicle in so many ways and tried to mask and hide his wreckless amature attempt at a glass installation. First thing we noticed, plainly, is he left the antenna for the remote start completely hanging below the rearview mirror. Contacted him directly and he said he had no automotive tape left to re-install. I had to go buy this special tape and reinstall it. OK give them the benefit of the doubt. Upon getting the tape and reinstalling the antenna I noticed he broke the plastic cover that is a show piece around the windshield automatic rain sensor and other controls. I called the store manager Mike and he was nice and agreed to replace. I had to do a the leg work with Infinity and have it sent to the Seattle store on 4th Ave. After getting the wrong part once and weeks of waiting I had to pick the correct part up as nobody called even to tell me it came in. Reinstalled this piece and thought we had bee done with it. A couple weeks later upon detailing this car I was horrified looking at the other damage. A large black plastic panel on the outside if the A pillar was cracked and the installer tried to find the crack with some kind of caulk. Then I really started to look close. All the exterior trim around the windshield was so badly bent and damaged it no longer fits correctly. A these parts will need to be replaced and I am sure this is going to cost a lot of money. This is a very bad place to take your car. GO ELSEWHERE! If you don't believe the compete honesty of this review just go visit the shop in 4th Ave. The state of disrepair, filthy and disorganization will speak for itself. We plan to file with the BBB, state attorney general, and small claims of King county. Ok update as of fall 2016. After our complaint to the WA State AG office I was contacted by Smart Glass. They did nothing but work with me to resolve the damage to our vehicle. It was addressed and fixed to our satisfaction. I would recommend that anyone looking to use this company visit them to plan the job first. Speak with the office shop manager. Always good to update Yelp good or bad. read more

After searching high and low for a hard to find rear window for my 99 Audi Wagon, Smart Glass went well beyond what other companies were willing to do (Safelite, Budget to name a few). Smart glass ordered the glass and had it shipped (@ not additional cost to me) and will be driving to my house to install it on schedule. The place seems small and gives the impression it cannot keep up with the their competitors, but that only tells me they are willing to do what it takes to earn their money. I went here after getting the cold shoulder from the established glass place on Cap Hill that's only a few blocks from my place. All I needed was to have a mirror cut. This isn't much of a money maker for any glass place, I'm sure, making cuts on glass that customers bring in. The woman who helped me was very pleasant, and spent more time to make two cuts on the mirror, to clean up the edges. The charge was quite small, less than I was expecting, especially considering it took about ten minutes total of her time. Left me with a very positive impression and now I know where I want to take bigger orders in the future! read more

They can simply reject service yet the keep making promises they don't keep such as a check up on a piece of glass that they didn't do a good job on in the first place, which could potentially fall down if weather ever gets real bad. 0/10 would not recommend. We recently went to Smart Glass to fix our Toyota's front window. The representative was very nice on the phone, and explained exactly where they were. Once at the business I was taken back on how dirty and disorganized the exterior of the business was. Once inside I saw that the exterior was the shining star - inside there was garbage on the heavily tattered sofas, and trash throughout the waiting room. The job that they did on my car was also without concern. Once completed I was given the keys and was thanked for my business. As I neared my car I noticed tape around my window. I went in asked the manager, and he stated that it was there to secure the window and should be left on for 24 hours (not a problem, but it shouldn't be the customer that needs to look for answers on a technical issue - the technician should be proactive). Once in the car there was rubber dust all over my dash, gages and seats. Then there was the horrific smell of body odor. Here is a hint to the business owners - when you have a staff that is standing around looking for the next customer - maybe, just maybe take some pride in your business and clean the place up. Next, please require that when you work on a car that you clean the dam thing up afterwards - you may then get some repeat business. As for now, I will never recommend Smart Glass to anyone. You got one star only because there wasn't a lower score. read more

I'm going to start of with saying that the price was ok, they were not very professional, they had no consideration for no-smokers. They continued to smoke after telling me they wouldn't smoke while I was there. Their waiting room was extremely cold and not once did any of the employees' come to check with me on wether I was ok or how long it would take to complete the job. The couch looked as though it came from a frat house with all its stains. Their bathroom was disgusting. Just walking in there I felt like I needed to take another shower. They were rude about vacuuming up all the glass when I pointed out that they had clearly left glass on the seats. Yet he gave me "$5" off for driving my car to him. If you should feel the need to give them your business, I would consider having them drive to you. I myself will not be giving them anymore of my business. read more

We had our windshield in our Tahoe replaced by them a couple months ago. I was impressed that it looks exactly like our old windshield and the guy took the time to take off the items like our Good To Go Pass and oil change stickers and place them on the new windshield in the same place. It was only around $240 too which was a bargain! They came to me over on the eastside too. I would have liked to have received a phone call before the guy was coming, which I was expecting, but he didn't call and I had been out on a walk. Luckily my husband was home to give him the keys but I would have felt bad to leave him standing there waiting for me to return. But overall great job and easy to book the appointment with a single phone call. Very happy and no problems with the windshield at all! read more

Smart? Hardly. I had a terrible experience with "'Smart(?) Glass" like many others have reported. I had mobile service come out to my house to replace the windshield in my wife's 2009 mini cooper. It had a few small dings so I thought why not just replace it for a few bucks more... Huge mistake that I went with this company. The Installer shows up in a beat up van, with no identifying uniform etc, and speaks very broken English. I am pretty open minded so I let it go, but my wife would not have been comfortable. The windshield goes in but the interior trim is left hanging unseated. Irritating, but not a big deal, I can pop them back in place. The next day we wake up to find the floor boards soaked and water pooled up in front of the dash. Call them, the lady (reaching here) rudely says "you're gonna have to come to us". Ugh. Ok whatever. I take the morning off work and drive to their shop. Their facility is unkempt, unorganized and not at all what I would call professional. Can you drive it in to the shop for us? Ok... They say "how long ago did we supposedly do this" excuse me? Supposedly? Look at the receipt. It was just a few days prior. I am glad I documented this visit (pictures of the car in their shop, etc) as they wouldn't provide any paperwork for this go around. They fiddle around, pull the moldings and squeeze some compound into the corners and say "you're good to go, let us know if still leaks". The next day... You guessed it... Water in the same places. The car now stinks like a wet dog. I find out from a reputable glass shop that the proper procedure would be to remove the windshield and re bed the installation. They didn't do that. Luckily this real glass shop is more than willing to testify to Smart AutoGlass' incorrect procedures... Seems they don't care for 'hacks' cutting corners to underprice. Wish I knew what I know now. I call them and ask how to resolve and they say. Wait for it... "Just bring it in and we'll take care of it". So maybe after 3 tries they can get it right. As of now I'm out 4 hours, $250 and have a car that stinks, leaks like a sieve and I still have to go back and deal with their attitude. I'm willing to talk with others that have been burned by this shop to do a group effort to expose these bad practices... You could say its what I do (feel free to read into that). Beware... Do your research and learn the safety implications of improper windshield installation. If they can't get it right this last go around, I'm more than willing to get it fixed at a real auto glass shop and take the next steps to rectify through the legal channels to recover my time, issues with cleaning the carpets, and proper installation. What is your time worth? How about being left with stinky wet carpets that will likely stay that way? How about being left with your safety compromised due to incorrect installation? read more

I was walking my dogs at the park and returned to my car to find my back window shattered and the contents of the trunk stolen. I called several auto glass places and they all told me that they could fix it in a few days or a week. Living in rainy Seattle I did not want to leave my vehicle susceptible to the weather or further vandalism. Mike said, "come right over, I will send my son to pick up the glass for your window." I dropped my dogs off at home and went directly there. Within 2 hours they had my window repaired and I was on my way. They did an excellent job, were kind, helpful and professional. I brought my car down about 4 weeks ago to have a ding fixed. The owner, Mike, fixed one ding but pointed out that there were actually two very close together. He was worried about drilling the guide holes so close together so told me if I came back in a week or so he would fix the second ding at no extra charge. I came in once to find the ding machine out of the shop doing mobile repairs which was a slight bummer, but had such a good experience on my first visit I didn't mind too much. I came back again, by this time about 4 weeks from my first visit, and Mike was good to his word and fixed the second ding at no extra charge. My husband has had work done here before and we've always had good results. Nothing fancy from the outside, but good quality work and reasonable prices on the inside. read more

Let me just start off as the job got done & it works as of now. But I left my car at work to get it done and from what I heard- he wasn't professional. I was told he showed up looking "homeless", left glass all over the shop bay floor, and barely spoke English. Then I called to pay over the phone, which went fine, then asked for a tinting contact. They gave me his number (they said he does all of their tints and he's really good) when I called he sounded like he was at a party. Barely spoke to me, only saying "yes". Was very standoff ish. The price was okay but I needed it done ASAP. I don't think I'll be calling them again. read more

My car 2002 Mercedes C230K. Not only did they come on time to my house, they were cheaper by about 45% over what overs were charging and over 50% from one major outfit. The glass that was brought out ended up being the wrong one, no fault of their's, just my car is an in between year. They promptly went and got the right one came back and replaced my windshield in under 30 minutes with the exact glass. Rolando was a total professional and did a fantastic job. This place was amazing. My window was chipped on my way to pick someone up from the airport and caused a foot long crack. The crack continued growing significantly as I was driving and I knew I needed to replace the windshield. I called and they were able to give me a quote over the phone that was significantly cheaper than other big name windshield repair companies. They were knowledgeable and were able to identify that I had a special windshield over the phone and better yet they had it in stock. I was able to schedule an appointment within an hour of the incident happening. I pulled in and was taken immediately into their garage and after just an hour they replaced the windshield and called so I could be on my way home again. When some butthead decided to throw a rock through my car window, I didn't know where to go. I'm very glad I ended up here- they estimated it would take an hour or so to fix and if took less than that! I called ahead of time and when I arrived they helped me right away and were very friendly. The price is comparable/less expensive in comparison to some of the other repair shops I checked out ($175 without tax to replace the window on the drivers side backseat of a small hatchback- you can call and they'll happily give you an estimate) I definitely recommend! read more

The guy that came out to replace my window was pretty sketchy the car he drove was a two tone color, and the fact that he had no professional logo on his car or any pop up tent to cover the rain as he worked on my car window, did not make me happy either. Hard to understand. He got the new window in pretty quickly but there was still a ton of glass left inside my door panel, as he came my house he was able to use our shop vac but apparently not the right tools with him to finish the job correctly, there was still glass chunks in my window that he left in. When I called them to have them come out to my work they asked me if I had a plug in that they could use for the vacuum!? Really? Just shotty work. I had to go somewhere else and pay another $44 to get the rest of the glass sucked out. Sometimes it's just not worth the crap. read more

Used brand name glass (Pilkington) They came to my home to do the work. Would have gotten five stars except for poor communication about when they would come to fix the windshield. Person on the phone gave me a specific time, the man on the truck called an hour later, but I wasn't available. Said he'd come at 10 am the next day, he came early, fortunately I was home. I made an appointment for a windshield replacement. The installer didn't show up. I call and i am told that he "must have gotten drunk last not and didn't wake up"...seriously? He came out the next day and did the installation. After a couple of weeks I notice a whistling sound and cold air coming from the windshield. I call and they send someone to "fix it". A week or so later I notice that the molding on the drivers side of the windshield is missing from my car. I call them and they say they will come out and "fix it" again. I tell them I will be at work....they send someone to my house. The installer calls me and asks where I am... he promises to have the boss call me. No call. Skip ahead a week and a half and I call the boss AGAIN. He says, he will send someone this weekend...stay tuned. read more
