Multiple times, the company scheduled and confirmed service visits, only to never show up or communicate that they weren't coming. Each time, I had to move furniture, remove window coverings, clear access to the door, and rearrange my schedule, only to do it all over again for the next appointment. This level of service is simply unacceptable. If you're looking for Milgard products, I would recommend Sound View Windows or Lundgren Enterprises instead. Based on my experience, they offer much better customer service, often at the same or even a lower price.

I got bids, and was the most impressed with Danny L at Signature Windows. We had a tight deadline because the home was going on the market and access to the window, especially in the rain, was really challenging. Meeting the deadline, and the safety of the installers, were non-negotiable. Danny came out the very next day to measure the Window From Hell and, not only did he give me the best price, but his company was the only one that had all the scaffolding equipment readily available at no extra charge. The window arrived sooner than expected, and installation was quickly scheduled to meet the deadline. Then we hit a snag: some epic rain made the cedar roof too slippery for safe conditions. Brent and his crew of expert (and very brave) installers rigged up a safe way to haul this brand-new Mother of ALL Windows up to the second floor and install it using very long ladders, secure scaffolding, and harnesses. I think we had 4 or 5 installers for this job. It took all day to get the old Window From Hell out and the new Mother of All Windows installed. But what a job! Perfect caulk lines, perfect cleaning of the glass, perfect clean-up of the job site, indoors and out. Job done ON TIME, SAFELY, and at an excellent price. If Signature can handle my Window From Hell, I am very confident they can install ordinary double-hung windows that exceed your expectations for quality, price, timeliness, and workmanship. The Rheem estimate from the big box store was ridiculous; the teaser price went up by 50% once they actually itemized the install. Emerald City's came in comparable to our usual plumber, but with the added benefit of getting another Rheem instead of a different brand and adding an automatic shut-off in case of leaks. Emerald City partners with McClendon Home Services for the water heater installs. Jesse and Aaron were on time and professional. Jesse checked our meter at the street and explained why we didn't need an expansion tank and, in fact, why having one could unnecessarily increase our water bill. We now have a 10-year parts-and-labor warranty and peace of mind. We also got an estimate for windows, but unfortunately Emerald City doesn't currently provide exterior painting services. We still might loop back with them in the future for first-floor windows where we could paint the trim ourselves. Overall, we're happy with the communication, customer service, and value.

In May '25 we completed the order for 10 custom Brightside windows. They worked with us on our…read morescheduling so in July '25 we had all 10 Windows installed in 1 day. After the installation, Brightside returned to inspect the install to be sure it was done right and nothing was wrong. From start to finish the process was easy. I was so impressed that I told my neighbors but they just ordered from another company. Their windows were much more expensive, the install took 4+ days and it left unpainted trim for them to fix. Now that our windows are in we are even more impressed. As promised, the house is more quiet and the tint means more privacy. All the manuals, receipts, warranties, invoices, etc were emailed which made the process fast and I had proof every step of the way. The upgraded windows will certainly reduce energy costs throughout the upcoming winter and add overall value to the home. Our neighborhood seems to attract outside salesman, some are not great. I read some of the reviews here and the less than great ones seem like a one-off salesman issue. Everyone I dealt with was great. My salesman was polished, polite and not pushy at all. They used predatory sales…read moretactics in our home and failed to provide mandatory physical copies of their cancellation forms as required by Washington State Law (RCW 63.14.154). Instead, they hid the cancellation details in an unmentioned digital link. My spouse is a stroke and brain surgery survivor, making a hidden digital link completely inaccessible. Meaning he didn't understand that he had to open the link and print the cancellation form, sign it and send it in within a 3 day window. They waited until he missed the three days and then called and threatened him with two options...either get the windows or pay a fine of 50% of the total contract. My spouse verbally canceled within 22 hours (before measurements or manufacturing even started), yet they tried to charge us a predatory 50% cancellation penalty. Thankfully, our lender (Momnt) saw through this and completely reverse-funded and closed the loan at a $0.00 balance. Now, Brightside's management team has failed to get back to us about their legal plans and refused to cancel the loan in writing while ghosting us. We have officially escalated this by filing a formal consumer protection complaint with the Washington State Attorney General's office. Do not let them into your home. By the way I was forced to give them a star in order to post this!
