So pleased with this new neighborhood grocery store! Smart and Final Extra carries most everything in both bulk and standard sizes. I'm super impressed with their produce section, filled with fresh, OCD-status organized organic and non-organic fruits and veggies. I'm also loving the bulk section where you can get nuts, granola, beans, dried fruit and more. Every time I have been at least 2 people have asked if I am finding everything ok and the cashiers are always friendly and conversational. Definitely an all around A+ shopping experience and I'm super glad it is my local store! PS, their rotisserie chickens are the absolute best ever!! read more

Oh gosh... kids really wanted milk and I just picked up Horizon milk boxes from Smart and Final at Tustin .... after gulping it for a while they complained "mommy this is chunky milk"... I checked the expiration date.... feb 2019 and today is almost October 2019!! I checked the milk. It's all rotten. Now I am waiting for my both kids to start vomiting and having diarrhea. I called smart and final and complained. Store manager was very unsympathetic but offered a refund... Disappointing experience and unsympathetic customer service. read more

I will change this review in a week or so, but I want to put this warning out there: avoid the First Street brand chicken wings. I purchased 3 large packages ($32 total) to make hot wings for my daughter's birthday party. I bought them and beought them directly home to prepare immediately - I live about 3 minutes away. When I opened each package (literally 10 minutes after purchasing), the smell of spoiled meat was overwhelming. I immediately took all 3 packages back (the smell is still lingering in my car 3 hours later, BTW) and got a full refund, but 2 different cashiers commented about "bad chicken AGAIN??" Apparently, mine is not the first spoiled chicken they have sold this week. Be aware. Convenient location, very clean and nice inside, friendly checkers. I purchased all my field trip snacks for a 2 week trip with 25 students here. I am so very happy that Smart and Final came to Tustin - saves me an inconvenient trip to Orange or Irvine. read more

I understand cashier Cindy may be having a bad day. However, you should offer to bag your customers groceries and not get mad when they wait for you to do it. It is a brand new store. This used to be a Ralphs Grocery Store. I came in just to look and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of items they carry. Seemed like a mix between a grocery store and Target. It was too busy for my shopping preference but it was only the second day so lots of looky lous (me included). The store was clean and well organized. There was a little of everything, They did have some unique items that I was looking for (mrs myers cleaning concentrate, mae ploy sweet chili sauce). I would come here about once every 3 months just to peruse the store or if I needed something at Target and didnt want to do the longer drive, but not for every day shopping. I personally prefer Trader Joes (right across Irvine Blvd). read more

I would give it four stars but every time I go no matter the time, there are not enough registers open and they are always out of the rotisserie chicken. Today I went at 2:15pm, should've been a quick in and out but they only had two registers open including the 10items or less register. To top it off, they didn't have any chicken which was one of the reasons I chose Smart n final today. No sign posted when they'd make more and not a worker in the area to ask, so I had to interrupt one of only two cashiers. read more

I got them home and as soon as I cut them open the smell was so gross. Yes "BAD RIBS"! very disappointed , 35.00 dollars of ribs going back to the store for a refund. I did get a refund and a "I'm Sorry" doesn't cut it! Now I did check the sell buy "Date". It did say it had to be sold by the NEXT Day. my bad! maybe I shouldn't of picked them up. STILL, they shouldn't have been on the shelf for sell that close to expire."PORK" That's That! The other day I was driving to Smart and Final to get some coffee because I need my morning coffee or I get cranky. I walk in and didn't know which aisle it would be on, then I saw a girl by the name of Nida who was super awesome in helping me out. She was very helpful in directing me to which aisle the coffee was on. Most store employees will just point, but she physically showed me where. That's what I call great customer service! We need more people like that because it makes everything a lot easier for people especially when you're in a rush. I asked her for the coffee grinder right after and she showed me where it was. Hi! I went in this morning and I had to purchase 25 variety of 2 liter soda. When I approached the register the cashier said, you can leave them there in the cart. I thought to myself: What? I need to carry 25 liter sodas individually once I get home. I asked her. Can you please put them in bags? I felt she was upset at this point because they are a lot and heavy. I also purchased only 2 bags of mozzarella cheese and instead of charging me for the 8 plastic bags, she charged be 8 bags of cheese at: $11.36 each one. She overcharged me almost $70. I felt she had no customer service skills and I felt her attitude being in a position where there is all day traffic of customers was not the right fit for her. I noticed she was wearing a black shirt and the other ladies were wearing red, and it turned out, that I was unable to escalate it to a manager, because she was the Manager on duty. Anyhow, just be nice to your clients that come in and it would have been nice, if she would have asked: how do you want to carry your sodas out? with a bag or no bag. She just assumed.... read more

Smart & Final is finally in Tustin, replacing an old Ralphs location. And it's a...Smart & Final. Although this is in the "ritzier" North Tustin area, it's a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Unlike you, Haggen. This grocery store is nothing special, but it's generally less expensive than Ralphs. You'll find a lot of goodies you can't find at a normal grocery store. Particularly a great place to shop if you're throwing a shindig. This will probably be my new go-to local grocery store (besides Trader Joes), as I do not like to support the giant conglomerate that is Albertsons-Safeway. read more

I just read several of the recent reviews and was really surprised how negative they are. My experience has been quite different. No rude cashiers, helpful staff finding things for me and a variety much larger than the local markets. That said I do not buy my meats and most produce there as I am used to Costco and Sprouts. I was a bit hesitant at first remembering that it used to be bulk and volume but now it has all sizes . Bakery is good with good prices and variety. Not so much for wine . I was in your store today as I had to buy supplies for a non profit and I want to thank you and your staff for working so hard and being so helpful during the stress of this time - The carts were being sanitized snd entry was being monitored - it still was pretty crowded in the store but most shoppers were being respectful of space. Given the recommendations from OC Public Health on 4/8 that everyone wear face coverings and gloves it was concerning that I saw at least 20 shoppers touching product - picking it up and putting it back on the shelves or produce section without any face covering or gloves. Many stores have signs that do not allow shoppers in without personal care coverings. Given that you are doing a great job this is the one item that seems to be lacking. Interesting that 70% of these types of shoppers were with a family member who was using appropriate covering and gloves but they were not. Hard to believe!!! read more

I was at the store doing instacart shopping helping other customers get their groceries and stuff. It ends up that a really slow and annoyed cashier, Irma, was really rude to me. I even told her this is an instacart order and at the end I'm asking for the amount of bags that she might use for my customers order and she said I didn't add any bags so you would have to pay for them. Are you serious? What kind of cashier is she that knowing this isn't my order, and might have to leave it at the door, she doesn't ask or provide the necessary bags. Not o my that she's like you need to move and finish your order somewhere else. I'm really calling corporate on this lady. Last time she helped me she got annoyed because they got busy and was being rude to the other cashier named Nick. If she doesn't like her cashier position she can find another job. As I said I am calling corporate and tell them about this situation and hopefully they work on it. read more

I absolutely love this particular store! I drive about 20 miles just to shop at this Smart & Final location. This store embodies the epitome of standards which all stores should adhere to. It's literally the Nordstrom of grocery stores. The aesthetics are always very pleasing; it is always clean, organized, well stocked; and most importantly their customer service is always on point. I'm always greeted by happy smiling faces, and if I need help locating an item, employees are always willing to walk me to the item, rather than just pointing or saying it's on a specific aisle. The product selection is great, the produce is good, and they always have what I need, which helps me get all my grocery shopping done in one place. I cannot say anything negative about this location. I just wish the stores in my area were as nice, clean, organized, well stocked, and well managed as this location. The management in this store is great, and all others should look at this store as the example to follow! read more
