Smackys is always a good go to when I can't decide on lunch and want a good sandwich. Most of the menu is pretty good. The dine in experience feels like a comfortable sandwich bar with a great comfortable old school experience. The service is fast and friendly. I definitely recommend.

Still as good as the last couple of times here. Tried the Monte Cristo "special" torte. Very cheesy and very good. Fast service at the counter and they stay on top of the lunch crowds. As that "old bar" feel to it but it is a diner.

DON'T COME HERE ... unless you are starving, the sandwiches are huge, and you will leave satisfied. Smacky's sandwiches are filled with meat and various bread options are available. Upgrade to navy bean soup and a soda. While we waited for our orders, we played a trivia game that was on the tables. Fun. Orders The Reubenator - a half pound of pastrami layered with sauerkraut. Double Swiss, double pepper, jack with chipotle, mayo. And the best part is the grilled jalapeño roll. DELISH Classico Eggo Sando - on soft french bread, lettuce, tomato, mayo Smacky's Favorite- avocado, Swiss, cheese, roasted garlic, mayo, lettuce, tomato, we added alfalfa on whole wheat Seven different sandwiches are offered for kids It is about a minute away from the Spokane County Fair and Expo. Opened Weekdays for lunch from 10:30 to 3 pm since they are tucked away in the industrial area and cater to the business's needs

Solid sandwhich shop. Wish I had one to go to like this in portland. So many options, friendly people, good service, fun ambiance. Defiantly worth coming to and off the beaten path.

The Derek. Next one I would add red onion and pepperoncini. So good. Also behind it was the clam crowder with a ton of bacon. Drool.

Outstanding would be an understatement! Sooooo good. Also the customer service and hospitality was so great. I asked the girl if she ever would move to Phoenix I'd hire her in a heartbeat. Every single person behind the counter was a pleasure. They even checked in to ask how we liked it.

Made my own with Harper pastrami, roast beef, avocado, and loaded with sprouts and peppers.

Easily the best sandwich place in Spokane. We come here all the time and the owner and his family are incredible people.

Second, some of you whiners have clearly never been to Philadelphia or you would be banging a drum in front of this place singing its praises. Now, as someone who actually lived in Philadelphia for a bit, let me give you the lowdown. First, they got the Philly vibe down. When you go to get a cheese steak or any kind of sandwich, it is quick and businesslike so you can get in your way. Though some have complained, I love the concept of the self order kiosk. Keeps the indecisive folks out of the way while those who know what they want can drop their order, get their food, and get going. Just like they do in Philly. This location is also very clean whenever I come in, which is honestly better than a lot of the places I went to when I was in the City of Brotherly Love. The employees move quick and get the job done well, all while being pleasant. Even if you are a Karen. So, how is the food? It is awesome, closest to a proper cheese steak I have had outside of Pennsylvania. And the Korean spin in things? Good as well, fun way to change things up. Despite some of the whining, I think the prices are actually reasonable. To the person who claimed the price was double when she ordered as opposed to the menu? Shut up, you're ridiculous, no one believes your hit job. Anyway. If you want good food places to keep going in Spokane, get you an "authentic" cheese steak here. And no, a real cheese steak doesn't have peppers. Grilled onions only.

My friend is into Philly Cheesesteaks and I wanted to try the veggie rice bowl. So at the ordering counter, there's a bell to ring for help or to ask questions. With that said, it's a DIY kiosk tablet that was pretty simple and user friendly. My friend got a traditional Philly Ribeye Cheesesteak with extra cheese and an order of cheese fries. I got the veggie rice bowl with all the veggies offered except for jalapenos. I choose 2 sauce options: soy aioli and gochujang. I also got a side order of fries. My veggie bowl arrived hot and steamy and had a pretty good flavor profile considering I chose 2 sauces. Rice to veggies was proportionate and the portion itself was worth the value too. If there's any suggestion, it would be to use a different rice or add a little water to it throughout the day as it's on the warmer so it doesn't dry out as fast. I'm a bit weird and like my veggies slightly undercooked and will ask for that next time. Overall, I enjoyed the veggie rice bowl. Now, the fries were amazing! Great crisp, tender inside, and best of all it had this texture I only come across sometimes. I tried to take a pic to capture what I mean. But ikyk! My friend, at first glance of his Philly, wondered where all the cheese was since he ordered extra cheese. Well, it's safe to say it was nicely folded into the meat because after taking a few bites, he said it really liked it and that it was definitely cheesy. He got 2 different cheeses and said next time he will order extra peppers. He also made mention of the bread used and how he liked it and that the bread used could make or break the sandwich. In the end, he wished he ordered another sandwich to-go for later lol. The cheese fries were SUPER CHEESY so if you're into that, definitely order it. There was only 1 gentleman working, cooking, and cleaning. I want to guess he was the owner. He was really friendly and helpful and cooked us up a great lunch. On a sidenote, bathrooms need a code and the women's was really clean.

Every contact I've had with Grain Shed employees has been more than pleasant; they truly seem to enjoy working there, and take good care of their customers. I need to shout out to Toby and Audrey before I go on. They each provided 110% on customer service, being personable and making sure we left happy. On 2 separate trips to Spokane, I've visited the Grain Shed 3 and 4 times over the course of 3 days (yes, if you do the math, I went twice in 1 day, and the restaurant was NOT just around the corner!) Everything I've tried is delish, but in case you have to limit yourself, I highly recommend the OG, the beets and feta toast, the bread flight with sauces and cheese, the molasses ginger cookie, and maybe a chocolate croissant. I've heard their bread pudding and pumpkin pie (holiday special) are out of this world! I tried to get over to listen to their live music before leaving town, but still need to squeeze that into my schedule. Travelers: save space in your luggage for a loaf of bread. Sadly, no shipping at this time, but I'm waiting for it! This SoCal resident is officially The Grain Shed's #1 fan. I dare any of you to try to take away my title!

The Grain Shed does a farm to table model and is a bakery and brewery. I got a snack here along with a beer and left quite satisfied. I got a Grilled Cheese Sandwich on some of their house made bread with some Cheddar, Swiss and Provolone cheese. The exact name for this sandwich is the Cheesy Toastie. And of course moving on to the beer... the primary motivator to come here. I got the Kölsch beer here called Field Trip. I do love a good Kölsch as they are nice, light bodied beers. And they are especially nice in the summertime. Flavor features in this beer is maltiness, breadiness, a bit of hoppiness and a dry finish. Another beer that Steve and I tried was the INWPA which was a Pale Ale. It was also a nice light bodied beer which again hit the spot despite it being a different drinking session. Flavor characteristics in this beer is citrus, a yeastiness, hoppiness and a biscuity trait. Good beers and sandwiches and we are aiming for a return whenever we are in Spokane again.

Anyway, I proceeded to order the #6 veggie sandwich and my friend ordered the Turkey Tom and added salami, peppers, and oil & vinegar. My sandwich was really good and consistent with the veggie sandwich from the other store. Bread was soft and delicious as usual and all my veggies were fresh and crisp. There was adequate cheese and the avocado spread tied it all together nicely. My friend was pretty happy with his choice and said it was really good.
