Fantastic sandwich shop located in a highly traveled area of Spokane. If you're in the area stop in and give it a try you won't regret it.

Wow!! Can't believe I didn't know about this place. Meat is sliced fresh. Bread is fresh. Sandos are huge and tasty. Best I've ever had. Well done.

Great sandwichs for a great price. I've driven by for years and finally stopped. Wow! So good. Get the large, it's worth it! A few beers on tap. Bless! Irish Death so happy to see a dark beer on tap. Not a lot of seating in the small building.

I am from Idaho and hate going to Spokane. This little sandwich shop just gave me a reason to come to Spokane. Excellent service. Outstanding attitude from all the staff. Great food.

Shamus's Famous, Pile Driver, and the King of Clubs. Rye and sourdough. All amazing.

It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's money on the inside. Service was fast and excellent. Shamus's Famous, the Pile Driver and the King of Clubs were all excellent. Love love love the rye bread. My daughter said the sourdough was great, too. If we lived here, we'd be back. Regularly. Thanks!

This is a no-frills spot with a few beers on tap, Ivar's clam chowder, and big, tasty sandwiches. They serve Tim's chips and a pickle with every order. The Rancher is my personal go-to, but I've had most the sandwiches on the menu (even the tuna, which I don't order at most places) and I've never been disappointed. My pictures are of the large size, which I can only finish half of, so if you're a light eater the small will suite you fine. I like having more for later though! Service is never bad but can be pretty curt during lunch rush and seating is very limited so plan on getting your food to-go. It travels well and service is as fast and efficient as they come, so no worries. If you work in the area, this is a dependable, tried-and-true lunch spot that will have you coming back even when you change jobs and it's no longer convenient.

I think my review wouldn't be different from any other here .. great assembly of sandwiches .. breads are freshly baked everyday, sourced from a local bakery .. and they are absolutely super. The amount and quality of meat, the cheese and the combination of sauces are great. And the way they make your order in a flash is really really amazing .. I was astonished on my very first visit for a to go order .. I mean during the time the payment from your card is getting approved or they are giving you the change back .. the sandwich is just ready .. You are like "is it mine?" .. "are you sure?" .. "no it is not mine" Still having some doubt you want to peep in to it .. :D .. But then they are more of a "sandwich assembly shop" .. not taking anything away saying them the sandwiches are great .. hundred percent. Portion size is great and prices are really fair. Had the Shamu's famous last time .. it is more like a reuben .. thought that the corned beef could have been a bit more tastier .. but I am not very fond of bland meat so it could just be me. Next visit will be for the pile driver and an update here.

I absolutely love this place. I've pretty much have tried all of their sandwiches and there has never been a disappointment. My fave is the King of club sandwich. I also like the chips, they taste similar to tims potato chips. The whole sandwich is enough to have for lunch AND dinner, the thing is HUGE!!!! The bread is also friggen delicious! Now that I found out there is a valley location, WATCH OUT!!! The location by Kmart is decorated in sports memorabilia...I'll have to venture to the valley location someday soon. The only thing I'd change is the hours, they aren't open very late...but when I'm able to get in there, I sure do! Seriously, for the price and the amount of food you get, this place ROCKS. Not to mention they are EWU fans (you can check out the red EWU limo at the Kmart location, it's pretty awesome) GO EAGS!!!

Shamus's is small but mighty! Right off of sprague, with plenty of parking. If you stop in for lunch on the weekday just know it'll be busy with local workers. My husband and I split the Hawaiian on French bread, it was delicious! There are usually only two people working in front but they are fast! They even separated our sandwiches in two baskets with pickles and chips. Honestly the large was perfect to split, and the small will probably be plenty for you. It is inexpensive and you get a great product. Anytime I'm in town this is a must stop. I paired my sandwich with a Mac and Jacks African Amber, and they usually have 3-4 beers on tap. Limited seating, some outdoors when it's nice. The decor is all local sports related, a lot of Eastern Eagles jerseys and pics, love it! Definitely a hidden gem in Spokane, can't wait to visit again soon!

One of my favorite local sandwich shops. We go to the one on sprague. The place is fantastic. My team eats lunch here at least once a week.

It was around lunch time when we walked in so the ambience was pretty busy and almost all the tables were taken, but we found a spot in the corner. We stood in line to order and we're greeted with a smile when it was our turn. I ordered John's Veggie Bug and my friend ordered the special of the day, which was the Cuban. I made mine a combo and added the homemade roasted garlic salad and a drink. When our order arrived, my sandwich sure did look tasty and it was! As taken from the menu, John's Veggie Bug consisted of: avocado, cream cheese, pepper jack cheese, olives, cucumbers, sprouts, green onion, lettuce, tomato, pesto mayo and balsamic vinaigrette, on a grilled parmesan panini. This sandwich was super fresh, had great flavors, and I loved that it was on yummy grilled bread that was warm. All the ingredients were plentiful too. I liked how it came with pretzels, something different than chips and the pickle had a good snap to it. You could tell the roasted garlic potato salad was homemade and it wasn't overpowered with garlic. The flavors had a nice balance. My friend's Cuban looked meaty and says he liked it. It was so filling he only ate half and took home the rest for later. The Cuban is worth it's value. The dining area inside almost reminds me of an old school diner feel with lots of decor, art, and vintage type signs. I really enjoyed my sandwich and I'll definitely be back!

I could only eat half since the wrap was so large, so I took the other half home and it still tasted great later. We can't wait to go back!

On 2 separate trips to Spokane, I've visited the Grain Shed 3 and 4 times over the course of 3 days (yes, if you do the math, I went twice in 1 day, and the restaurant was NOT just around the corner!) Everything I've tried is delish, but in case you have to limit yourself, I highly recommend the OG, the beets and feta toast, the bread flight with sauces and cheese, the molasses ginger cookie, and maybe a chocolate croissant. I've heard their bread pudding and pumpkin pie (holiday special) are out of this world! The Grain Shed does a farm to table model and is a bakery and brewery. I got a snack here along with a beer and left quite satisfied. And of course moving on to the beer... the primary motivator to come here. I got the Kölsch beer here called Field Trip. I do love a good Kölsch as they are nice, light bodied beers. And they are especially nice in the summertime. Flavor features in this beer is maltiness, breadiness, a bit of hoppiness and a dry finish. Another beer that Steve and I tried was the INWPA which was a Pale Ale. It was also a nice light bodied beer which again hit the spot despite it being a different drinking session. Flavor characteristics in this beer is citrus, a yeastiness, hoppiness and a biscuity trait. Good beers and sandwiches and we are aiming for a return whenever we are in Spokane again.

I ordered the Fig Sandwich and the Fancy Pants Sando because I could not decide between the two as they both sounded very unique in different ways. I called the place up and arranged to come pick the food up. The person on the phone was very thoughtful in keeping in mind at what time I would arrive so he could arrange for the sandwich to be toasted at the right time. I appreciate small details like that. When I arrived, I noticed there were several tables and a bar where you can essentially get brews and food. I noticed they had several beers on tap which I was very curious about, but unfortunately did not have time to sit down and eat at this establishment. The person at the bar was extremely friendly and made me feel very welcome. The two sandwiches came up to $40ish. I brought the sandwiches home and first tried a few bites of the Fancy Pants Sando. I will have to say it was the better of the two sandwiches. I appreciated the goat cheese in the sandwich and the mix of different ingredients, but it was not something I would consider to be a great sandwich, at least not for me. Others might find it pleasant, but I did not care for it much. The fig sandwich was the one I was more excited about and expected some sweetness to be cut down by the bacon. I don't think it was a perfect balance between the two, and I got a tad much of the overwhelming sweetness of the figs in this sandwich. Again, others might enjoy it, but I didn't care for it. I really wanted to give this place a great review, but unfortunately it did not meet my expectations. The beer looks fun though and might be a good reason to give this place a try, and you may enjoy their sandwiches and many people have. For me, that's a no-go.

Second, some of you whiners have clearly never been to Philadelphia or you would be banging a drum in front of this place singing its praises. Now, as someone who actually lived in Philadelphia for a bit, let me give you the lowdown. First, they got the Philly vibe down. When you go to get a cheese steak or any kind of sandwich, it is quick and businesslike so you can get in your way. Though some have complained, I love the concept of the self order kiosk. Keeps the indecisive folks out of the way while those who know what they want can drop their order, get their food, and get going. Just like they do in Philly. This location is also very clean whenever I come in, which is honestly better than a lot of the places I went to when I was in the City of Brotherly Love. The employees move quick and get the job done well, all while being pleasant. Even if you are a Karen. So, how is the food? It is awesome, closest to a proper cheese steak I have had outside of Pennsylvania. And the Korean spin in things? Good as well, fun way to change things up. Despite some of the whining, I think the prices are actually reasonable. To the person who claimed the price was double when she ordered as opposed to the menu? Shut up, you're ridiculous, no one believes your hit job. Anyway. If you want good food places to keep going in Spokane, get you an "authentic" cheese steak here. And no, a real cheese steak doesn't have peppers. Grilled onions only.

My friend is into Philly Cheesesteaks and I wanted to try the veggie rice bowl. So at the ordering counter, there's a bell to ring for help or to ask questions. With that said, it's a DIY kiosk tablet that was pretty simple and user friendly. My friend got a traditional Philly Ribeye Cheesesteak with extra cheese and an order of cheese fries. I got the veggie rice bowl with all the veggies offered except for jalapenos. I choose 2 sauce options: soy aioli and gochujang. I also got a side order of fries. My veggie bowl arrived hot and steamy and had a pretty good flavor profile considering I chose 2 sauces. Rice to veggies was proportionate and the portion itself was worth the value too. If there's any suggestion, it would be to use a different rice or add a little water to it throughout the day as it's on the warmer so it doesn't dry out as fast. I'm a bit weird and like my veggies slightly undercooked and will ask for that next time. Overall, I enjoyed the veggie rice bowl. Now, the fries were amazing! Great crisp, tender inside, and best of all it had this texture I only come across sometimes. I tried to take a pic to capture what I mean. But ikyk! My friend, at first glance of his Philly, wondered where all the cheese was since he ordered extra cheese. Well, it's safe to say it was nicely folded into the meat because after taking a few bites, he said it really liked it and that it was definitely cheesy. He got 2 different cheeses and said next time he will order extra peppers. He also made mention of the bread used and how he liked it and that the bread used could make or break the sandwich. In the end, he wished he ordered another sandwich to-go for later lol. The cheese fries were SUPER CHEESY so if you're into that, definitely order it. There was only 1 gentleman working, cooking, and cleaning. I want to guess he was the owner. He was really friendly and helpful and cooked us up a great lunch. On a sidenote, bathrooms need a code and the women's was really clean.
