Came here right before closing, I didn't realize they closed at 3pm. It's a pretty small shop right by a vet clinic. I got the Ruben with extra meat and extra thousand island. I will say that it was kind of odd to me that they microwaved the roast beef inside what looked to be a plastic wrapper of some sort. Doesn't bother me but was just odd. However someone like my boyfriend would be bothered by that because of like microplastics or something. Anyways, then they put everything in a panini press and wrap it up. The sandwich was great, the bread was thick too so I'm glad I put the extra thousand island. I also ordered the loaded potato salad and the chipotle pasta salad. The chipotle pasta salad was flavorless and just honestly kind of weird. Wouldn't order again and I threw it away. The potato salad was very thick chunks of potatoes and very little salt or flavor, very different than what I had imagined from the description on their menu. It wasn't horrible though and I finished about half. Also would not order this again. Customer service and the Ruben are the reason for the 4 stars, if customer service wasn't good then I would've given 3 stars due to the sides not being good. read more

It's been a little while since my last review here and wanted to give a refresh. Not much has changed. The seating area is still pretty small with 5 two seat tables. It was also kept very clean. Water is provided in a help yourself container along with styrofoam cups. The employee working the counter was friendly and efficient and my eat-in order was ready within a few minutes. I had the southwestern turkey and it was excellent. Nothing fancy, just a very good and well stacked panini. For those of you who might not like super hot stuff, this one isn't. It's got a little kick, but nothing that ruins the rest of the day. A very good experience and reasonably priced in today's food market. Definitely worth a try if you haven't been here before. read more

$40 worth of food got us the driest(and smallest) rueben sandwiches I've ever had. Paired with undersized, tasteless and plain potato salad as well as macaroni salad. It was like plain noodles in a mayonnaise sauce. I've been wanting to try this place since Dashing their orders for quite a while. I really expected something more memorable. Fist time eating here, not a lot of seating very crowded. Sandwiches were ok, paid $3.75 for a very small scoop of potato salad they could have at least filled the small bowl. One of the girls was trying to catch Cheetos in her mouth as they were dropping on the floor?? It was not good to see that going on in the very little and open kitchen area! Maybe she could have done that when customers weren't eating and watching this. Sometimes I wonder about why staff are acting like kids while at work! It's management who aren't paying attention and or don't care how there employees act because they are afraid of loosing them if they are disciplined on the job! read more

My last review of this place was a couple years ago and I had to give an update. First, the owner Kristen is a gem. She loves her business and our community and takes amazing care of those who love her food. The little shop in garland district is a favorite. We have eaten in, done take out, ordered on UberEats, and with the issue of the COVID - 19 we have recently ordered her sandwich packs. Now since this all happened I have watched business owners put themselves forward and try innovative new ways to care for their customers. The sandwich packs included a loaf of bread, cheese, meat, tomato, lettuce, and love. This lasted us 6 sandwiches and we ordered three of them in two weeks. Since the kids are out of school, and my son's favorite food it sandwiches, this was an amazing idea. The pastrami and the turkey, ham and swiss are favorites of mine. When life is regular and normal their paninis are off the chains. I mean I crave the turkey bacon and a warm sandwich during lunch is such a treat. Also, the orzo salad is an absolute fave an you should definitely try it. read more

Second time trying a sandwich from here.i have gotten the southwestern turkey panini both times now, delivered to work and by the time it gets here the sandwiches are kind of soft but that's expected with delivery. I bet these sandwiches are amazing fresh! My coworkers all ordered a sandwich from here as well and also enjoyed their sandwiches. First time here on a quiet Tuesday morning. I got a big build-your-own roast beef sandwich that had fresh crisp veggies, cheese and horseradish mayo that would have cost me several dollars more at other places. They didn't skimp on the fresh cut avocado, cut the cheese to best fit the bread, and didn't squish the bread when they cut it. The basics matter and these gals have them down. The sandwich tasted great and certainly filled me up. Didn't get a picture of The Big Dill my partner ordered but he enjoyed that as well. He said he could've eaten a second, so keep that in mind if you want to try one and have a big appetite(one would be plenty for me though). Service was friendly and funny and I'd eat in next time because of that. Carrying Boar's Head is a huge plus for me, makes me confident that all the meat will taste good. First time at Garland Samdwich today and it's been on our list for a while. We got the Southwest Turkey and Dubliner which was a pastrami. We enjoyed both sandwiches very much. They were well balanced with meat, toppings and sauce. I was super impressed that the bread held up so well. We took these home and there was no sog! Cute little lunch place "sandwiched' next to another building, so make sure you don't miss it while driving! Such a cute little shoppe! There were even a few tables if you wanted to sit down and eat, however, their to-go boxes would be great for lunch on the go. The gal was super nice and friendly. What can I add to the many compliments I've heard about this place? I stumbled over it driving through the Garland district, badly needing a restroom break. I thought: "A restaurant, even a tiny one, will have a restroom." Bad choice, because upon entering the itty-bitty place I noticed there was barely room for customers, let alone a comfort station. To be polite, I ordered a couple chipotle sirloin sandwiches and gutted out the wait for the finished product. During the painful wait, I noted the easy way the three counter people swapped billingsgate with the locals coming in for pick-ups. The vibe was friendly, local and cool. I noted the presence of a water dispenser and cups. I got water and a cup (thank God) and bantered with the staff until my sandwiches were ready. I left with my lunch and found a quiet spot to put the cup to good use. It was only then that I noticed the incredible aroma coming the bag with my sirloin chipotle sandwiches. I broke one open and feasted on the delicious contents. I ate that sandwich like I was going to the chair. I devoured the entire thing before getting home and presenting my wife with the other one. She ate hers with the same gusto I put into wolfing mine. I took a menu with me and you can be sure this place is going to see me again and again. DEEElicious!! read more

I had half a steak panini sandwich and the potato salad. I'm usually not a fan of potato salad, but the owner was able to persuade me to try it. It's one of the best non-vinegar based versions I've had. The sour cream really helps to offset the mayo and the bacon is a perfect texture addition. The sandwich was really tasty too. The portion sizes are on the small side so if you're really hungry, I suggest going for a full sandwich and side. Nice little local sandwich shop. Will definitely be back to try out the rest of the menu. read more

In town on business, and I ordered a reuben panini combo, and also the potato salad via Uber Eats. The order was completed quickly by the restaurant, and delivered. I tried the potato salad first, and it was very flavorful. Not my favorite (it was missing something), but it wasn't bad. I would order it again for sure. The reuben was absolutely delicious. The pastrami was tender, and was cooked to perfection. Everything about the sandwich was great, and makes me want more now. No need to comment on the chips and soda, lol. I had the Southwest Turkey with the Chipotle mayo on the side as recommended by young lady working behind the counter. I didn't wait long, service was quick, place is a bit small for in-house dining but perfect if you want to just grab a sandwich and go. Ladies were very kind. I will definitely go back! Went here for lunch today after hearing lots of good things. I was in a hurry so I didn't have time to look over their menu a whole lot. I think I had the garland sandwich. There's only so much that you can say about a sandwich but what I really like about it was the quality of the ingredients.
