Most all the new restos in the Spokane/Cd'A area do not interest me, and they haven't for several years. Call it age, expense, horrible downtown locations, whatever you want. To satisfy my yearn to review, I've turned to updating info on tried and true dining experiences. Broadway Diner is about as consistent as it gets, and I danged well wish there were a dozen more like it. We are losing traditional diners, regardless if mom & pop or national chain, and it's a trend I sure hope reverses course. BD really does have top-tier short order cooks, and is always filled with truckers, seniors, and young families enjoying hearty fare without taking out a loan. Being 24/7, and making the whole menu on demand, cements their place in the pantheon of what we have left for this genre...

    Great ambiance VERY friendly staff.

Came to Spokane Valley for a girls volleyball tournament. My daughter's team went 4 and 3. Pretty good showing. My daughter and I were sharing a hotel room and I would get kicked out because my daughter and her teammates would be hanging out. On Snapchat. Whatever 16-year-olds-do. I was kind of lonely and hungry and googled DINER. Thank Goodness Google took me to Broadway Diner. The menu was vast. I went with PORK CHOP AND EGGS. HIGH RECOMMEND. Great spot. I am an actor and was recognized by some patrons. People in Washington are SO NICE. High Recommend. Five stars.

This is a very reliable diner, and I do believe they are open 24/7. My Hubby adores truck stop diners, and has been here dozens of times with friends and our kids. The times I've gone it's been the same every time, with friendly older ladies as waitresses, who never let your coffee or ice water get empty. The food is as you expect, and really that is a good thing because I've always had a decent meal. They don't have a bar, but as another reviewer mentioned, they do have a lot of pull tabs though. It's right off the Broadway exit on I90, easy off and on and very convenient for quick meal.

If you're looking for a late night, sit down meal in the Spokane area this is it, literally. You don't have any other options. As the saying goes, beggars can't be choosers. And that is good for Broadway Diner, b/c if I could choose to go elsewhere, I would. I've been to Broadway Diner three times and have experience varying levels of dissatisfaction. It does need to be stated that all three times have been in the early morning hours. And each time it has been relatively busy with minimal staff (only one waitress). The service is hit and missed. It has ranged from pretty awful to really rather good. The food is also touch and go. It's not bad, but it isn't particularly good. The only real appeal is that it's the only spot open at odd hours of the night where you can sit down with friends and/or coworkers and get some food. I doubt I'll ever visit during hours when I have other options. But the truth is, despite how underwhelmed I've been so far, I'll probably end up here again at some point b/c there simply aren't any other options.

I love this place. The ambiance is surprisingly cozy and the service is warm and welcoming. I think about this place often, whenever I need to be comforted with a big, fluffy pancake

Cute exterior of this truck stop gem!

We stopped here at midnight on a road trip and were BLOWN AWAY. The food was delicious, and the service was INCREDIBLE. We had a fantastic server named Katelyn. Katelyn was truly the best! She was the only waitress working, but that didn't stop her from being attentive and friendly to all of the tables. We were exhausted from driving all day and were not expecting high-quality service or food at this hour, but Broadway Diner and Katelyn gave us the pep we need to make it through the final two hours of this drive. Thank you Broadway Diner and thank you Katelyn for all the nearby nature recommendations!

This is exactly what you'd expect from a truck stop diner. Decent food, decent price, great value, sassy waitress. The menu itself is unspectacular but it came to the table hot, fresh, and quick. As for the sassy waitress, she made sure we were well taken care of.

The staff was super friendly. We have been wanting to try this place for awhile and decided to go get breakfast on a Friday morning. If you like pull tabs then you will love this place. The food was a truck diner for sure. It was good and we'll come back.

Yelp said they were open 24 hours, but we'd arrived at 11:30pm on Saturday and they were closed.

Great service and food but a current phone number would be helpful and would probably increase sales!

Honestly, Wooden City really lives up to its hype. It's an upscale spot right in downtown Spokane,…read morebut still feels warm and lively instead of overly formal. Definitely one of the best-quality restaurants in the city, where every dish was thoughtfully made and packed with flavor. What we ordered: Starters: - Spring Salad: Super fresh and well-balanced. The snap peas were crisp, with strawberries added for sweetness, and the goat cheese + pistachios gave it a creamy, nutty contrast. The lemon & tarragon vinaigrette tied everything together with a light, herby flavor. - Jerk Cauliflower: Crunchy cauliflower with Caribbean spices with a creamy jerk sauce, good as a side Appetizers: - Peel 'n' Eat Shrimp: Really juicy and spicy from the Cajun spice. There's butter to dip in but I found it too greasy and prefer lemon instead. - Blistered Hungarian Peppers: Smoky pepper with some sweetness and savory from the sausage and cheddar. Served with a toasted focaccia that soak up all the sauce. Main dishes: - Chicken Schnitzel: One of the must-orders. Crispy, golden breading, super tender inside. The lemon & caper butter sauce added acidity and richness that elevated the whole dish. Yoy have to order extra because it's never enough for the table. Yes, it's that good. - Marbled Duroc Pork Chop: Another favorite . Juicy and tender, with 'nduja salsa brava bringing a spicy depth, while lemon tahini and marcona almonds added creaminess and crunch. I always missed tasting this dish like my first time - Beet Ravioli: Earthy and slightly sweet flavor, nice texture but I hate goat cheese so I'm not really a fan of this dish - Pesto Bacon Pizza: Delicious crunch, loved the combo of mozzarella and gorgonzola, kind of creamy with a bit of funk. Balsamic do help balance and gave it a sweet tangy flavor, or else it would be too heavy for me (yes, not a pizza fan) Drinks & Dessert - Not Mai Tai mocktail: very aesthetically looking drink, but a bit too sweet to my liking - Apple crisp: cozy and warm, with baked apple & pecan crumble and served with vanilla ice cream on top. Delicious ice cream. - Pumpkin cheesecake: My 3rd favorite of the night, I still dream about it!! Rich, smooth, and perfectly spiced, you shouldn't skip this!!! That said, I do have to take away a couple points for timing. Our foods took 45 mins to come out even though I had reservations and note the menu items via the email, and the wait time between each dish was also... very confusing. It broke the flow of our meal. But once the food hit the table, it was hard to stay mad, so I forgave them.

I feel like I just went to a dress rehearsal about a play about a group of friends who got together…read moreand said "How about we open a restaurant? That would be fun!" Tonight was just so strange. First, I had no idea who was an employee. There were two girls that were going around together over and over, they kept stopping at tables so I think they worked there...but they never had anything in their hands. Our server seemed to keep forgetting we were there. Or just forgetting she was employed in general. Seriously just not with it. She was very nice...when she remembered we were there. I will say the pizza crust tasted amazing. So many places that serve pizza think of the crust as just something to put toppings on, but this had great flavor. Sadly, it was rolled too thin and said toppings made it somewhat soggy. Caesar salad was ok. Romaine was really fresh and crisp and the homemade croutons were still a little warm. Very good. However, the dressing was rather bland. And when I asked for pepper for it, our waitress first had it in her head that I expected some kind of peppers on my salad. When she finally understood I meant black pepper, she went away. Eventually she returned. Not with a pepper grinder or a shaker, but a sauce bowl that had about 3 tablespoons of black pepper in it. I wouldn't use that much pepper if I cooked for myself for a week and used it with every dish. Had to ask for knives for some of people's meals. I will say the spicy lamb rigatoni was amazing, pasta just right and the sauce and flavor was peak. I am just not sure what to say, other than this was the strangest and most disorganized dining experience I have ever had. I think if a grown up showed up and brought the kids into line, this place would be amazing. Also, for what we paid, I expected to be wowed, not left wondering what I just experienced.
