Their service was friendly , server, Stephanie was patient as their coffee was too strong while my hubby kept asking for extra almond milk. I love their mimosa flights and their french toast... their tots are great as well - looked baked and not oily.

This place stands out in a neighborhood where everything has more or less the same look. It feels more like an island cafe . The food is refreshing and good. The strawberry iced tea is so delicious - it's like a mocktail, but begs for a jigger of tequila or vodka. By itself, though, it's just perfect. I had the Cobb salad and my husband had the Asian chicken salad, and both were huge servings - definitely dinner-sized portions. The service was unremarkable, Jessica was so sweet, friendly, and just awesome and accommodating . The place itself is the real highlight - it's like you're dining in a cafe in Maui surrounded by orchids and plants, with a water feature that makes you want to stay and forget the world outside, even the beach that's just footsteps outside

To start off, I got the Spicy Tuna Bites, and they were good! You could actually taste the spice which I loved ! it's definitely flavorful. The lemonade was also really good and refreshing on such a hot day ! My only letdown was the Mahi Tacos, which were unfortunately quite dry and weren't my favorite. Despite the tacos, the rest of the menu looks amazing. I definitely want to come back to try some of their flights and their famous shakes! Not to mention I loved the aesthetic of the place, it was very pretty. And Tomas was super nice !

It was hard to find parking around here on a Saturday night. We ended up parking 2 blocks away and walking over. For a party of 2, we were seated immediately but took one of the last tables available. We had to sit outside but inside was pretty lively. It was very artsy and there was even live music. I ordered a chocolate shake, the famous zucchini sticks, and truffle kimchi fried rice. On a side note, I like how the breakfast menu is available until 2PM. The food took a bit over 10 minutes to arrive. The zucchini was delicious and pairs well with the ranch. It was lightly battered, melts in the mouth, and perfect. The fried rice came on a hot plate and it was really good too. The cheese, green onion, and kimchi work really well together. The bulgogi in the rice was also very good. The milkshake was really thick and my only complaint is that my compostable straw broke. Overall this is a really fun dinner spot.

Just off of highland you'll see the cutest little quaint resturant nestled in between another breakfast spot and other businesses. On the outside it looks like any other hole in the wall. No line awaiting to get in and on this hot sunny day surprisingly not anyone dining outside. Once you enter the doors your awestruck and greeted to a whimsical floral oasis, unique seating an abundance of orchids and a dreamy escape. The breakfast join on the outside was like stepping through the doors and entering another world. Speaking of "stepping" in, as a disabled traveler/ diner who switches between her cane and wheelchair i am sorry my chair friends your best option is to dined outdoors and hope you do not have to use the restroom as the place may be ADA friendly for some it is not truly handicap accessible as it is fairly narrow inside limiting the room to freely and comfortably move around on your own. Due to the unique nature with seating arrangements inside getting a table that works best indoors is not truly easy. The pathway to the restroom very narrow and although the restroom is fully handicap accessible please note the establishment itself is dated and was not built with us in mind. The day we dined i did have my cane and only needed to clear one step which was no issue given it was a good day. My struggle came with the pillows sliding in my chair that were for added comfort and that was all. When it came to the food , menu selection and the service 5 stars across the board maybe even more. Your senses and taste buds seemed to react to the menu as one glanced over. The breakfast choices sounded absolutely delicious. For generic items the combinations of fresh ingredients and seasonings made your mouth water with anticipation. The handheld section trapped me. I sat and contemplated should I do a burger, sandwich or a wrap. I have to look for options that tend to be MS friendly and there were so many options however although medically necessary I Hate having to pay extra for substitutions such as a gluten free bun $2.50 but knowing the brioche bun would not trigger a major reaction i opted for the Black and Blue burger medium well and upgraded to truffle fries. The burger was incredible in size. As the plate was placed in front of ne I was nearly salivating because the aroma of caramelized onions greated you first with a mixture of garlic and cajun spice. One bite and the taste buds hummed in satisfaction. The Angus beef patty cooled to perfection so juicy and thick cut. The taste box blue cheese crumble garlic aioli, caramelized onions and lettuce all in one bite had me devouring this burger. The truffle fries were not salty and flavored to perfection. When it came to the Mimosa flight it was not only aesthetically pleasing to look at, it was truly jam packed with unique flavors. My favorite in line was the Mango drago fruit first. Very light and fruity with the perfect amount of sweet to tangy flavor. Pair perfectly with the entire menu. The blue curacao elderflower was a unique and refreshing taste . Not as sweet but gave you a tropical earthy vibe not to over powering but just enough to linger on your tongue. In third was the lavender honey. Very floral and a fresh palette changer. A perfect after meal cocktail to wine down with. The lavender flavor was very floral and delicious. Comparable to rose water so if you dont like floral stay away from this one. They also offer coffee and tea flights while you dine. My overall verdict 4.5/5 service was phenomenal food delicious cocktails tasty. I will be back and a frequent traveler I just dont feel to the demographic I write for it is necessarily a great spot for those who use larger mobility aides as its not handicapped friendly but? If you dont mind dining outside give this place a try. I've lived here my entire life and can't believe how I never visited a resturant that would transport tou the momemt you stepped inside.

We popped in on a late afternoon/ early evening Saturday to no wait and a fairly empty place. It looks like a green house with all the plants and has an outdoor feel to it. Service was friendly and the food was decent. I think breakfast may be better, best on other reviews. But this served our purpose after a nice bike ride. The shakes were also extremely tasty!

The service was amazing! The owner came in to care for the orchids, as it was at closing time and he is incredibly friendly. I had the coffee flight...sooooo beautiful! I would love it even more with espresso instead, but it was still good. And the truffle fries were to die for. But the ambiance is the most incredible part of the whole place...it's absolutely magical.

Excellent place! Jessica was our server and really was A1. We had the Chinese chicken salad and the Cobb salad. Our favorite part was the strawberry lemonade!!

The food was good I recommend the spicy tuna and the Avocado Bacon Burger! Besides that service was amazing! Amber was our server the absolute most amazing and attentive server ever! Not only was she sweet and kind to customers but to her colleagues as well! Would go back for the amazing chai latte and Ambers sweet service!

This is such an amazing little hole in the wall place. The staff were super nice, the ambiance was amazing. There is a fireplace, and lots of greenery to make it super comfortable and relaxing. Food was wonderful

This used to be my favorite restaurant... but things are changing. Menu prices up - given COVID this is not surprising, however, the service level at those prices is missing. They seemed very understaffed on a Friday night. 2 servers can not handle a full restaurant and the to go business at the same time. Our server was AWOL for 25 minutes after dropping off the food. The food is usually simple and spot on - I love the salads, burgers and sandwiches. I made the error of trying the bibimbap. I've had it a dozen times at authentic restaurants NY, Seoul and Chicago. This was something else - a gooey, oily, goopy mess. There was so much sauce the rice was dripping wet and had no chance of getting crispy and the meat was drownding in it. And all of the veggies were a limp mess. On the positive side they had a great jazz band playing - who would have guessed? They restaurant was a casual, fun restaurant with great service. Now it seems a bit confused... Hopefully they can figure it out. read more

Meet family for breakfast. We decided on breakfast sandwiches because it's usually the most consistent thing to order at a place you've never been to before. The sandwiches were ok, not bad and not great. The interior of this place is cool, very earthy garden experience. Our waitress was a little scattered but very sweet so it made up for the lack of attentiveness. One thing to know first up, parking is very difficult in this area there is very little of it due to the layout of the neighborhood if you don't ride a bike or Uber in it's going to an issue. read more

Honestly this place is absolutely gorgeous. Great place for a date or get together for a group of friends. Reasonably priced food for the area and definitely flavorful food. Delicious food, terrible service. The Kim Chi burger was delicious and if it weren't for the service I'd be excited to eat here again! Our waitress came to our table only once after taking our order (besides bringing the check) and only because I managed to catch her attention. It took 20 minutes after we finished our food for her to bring us our check and I had to ask twice to get one refill on water and was on empty most of the meal. I usually leave reviews for only my favorite restaurants but this service was the worst I've ever experienced so I felt compelled to write this. Still giving three stars because the burger was delicious and I'm sure they have better waitresses, but beware that this is not the place if you're in any sort of hurry. read more

So first off let me tell you that I've been coming to Sloopy's since I was a little girl. My parents grew up in Manhattan Beach so they've been coming here even longer than me, obviously. As a child I always loved sitting in the garden area at the top that's half inside yet you feel outdoors (well you technically are). Although the fried mushrooms are no longer available and their menu has changed, it's still fresh quality food that'll have you always coming back for more! Definitely check out their malts and shakes! read more

This is a nice place for locals. The inside reminds me of a greenhouse or a nursery. Soo many plants. I also like that it isn't noisy and prices are affordable. The food is great too-with most places if the ambiance is this nice you can expect the food to be sub par. Fish and chips is my favorite. Nice light, flaky batter and moist fresh fish. Fries are yummy too and their slaw is a sesame asian mix, it's delicious! Numero uno burger is good too. The shrimp in the shrimp basket has coconutty undertone to it; between the shrimp and fish and chips I'd go with the fish, but the shrimp is good too. Also, I didnt catch her name but this one waitress on a Tuesday night was ON IT. She was so friendly and attentive. Such a sweetheart. All I can remember about her was she was blonde and had a tattoo band around her wrist. I'd reccomend Sloopy's to anyone any day read more

I was there two years ago and always kept it in the back of my mind to return and I finally did. It was everything I had experienced before. The French Toast was fabulous and so was the coffee. The staff was friendly and engaging. It was a short and pleasant walk from the parking lot to the cafe. It was great all the way around. I will return sooner this time. read more

At this local favorite breakfast/lunch/dinner spot, you'll meet a roaring outdoor fire pit, a gigantic menu hanging overhead with delicious burger, salad, sandwich, and shake options (to name a few), and an amazing lush jungle-like outdoor setting. Just steps away from the beach, we're perfect for taking a break from life. Try our bacon-guacamole burger, mahi mahi sandwich, and tasty pasta dishes (after 6pm).

The only thing I thought was exceptional was the bacon cheddar buttermilk biscuit with the whipped honey butter. It was buttery and crispy goodness. This item alone is worth coming back to this restaurant. Overall, this place is a solid 4 star restaurant. If you're planning on visiting this place, I have to warn you that parking may be a real pain to find since the area is very popular with beach goers. Things were exacerbated over the weekend due to a volleyball tournament. Had to drive around for like 30 minutes to find parking.

The spicy tuna crispy rice was so rich in flavor, and the crispy rice truly was crispy. The shrimp taquitos were unlike anything i've tried before! I was expecting some classic taquitos filled with shrimp but this place really goes above and beyond with this dish. The shrimps were wrapped (as you can see in the photo) and it was so good!! I definitely plan on coming back if i'm ever in the area. The ambience of this place is beautiful too, we came during the day but I really want to see how it is at night. I would say this is a great spot for a date night with a partner or friends.

One of our final meals as a family of two was Valentine's Day 2026. It was our first time being seated indoors, and the ambiance was dim and romantic. The meatloaf special was fantastic! Fast forward to June 2026, and we brought our 3-month-old son to his first NIck's meal (unfortunately, he could not partake) and to celebrate my husband's first Father's Day. On this reservation, I put in a request for outdoor seating that gave us enough room to park our stroller and car seat, and they were able to accommodate that. They were also understanding when me and my husband were running a few minutes past our reservation time due to fhe baby, and we appreciated the flexibility. Noise level was moderate, but definitely quieter outside. If you get nothing else from this review, just remember this: ORDER THE WARM BUTTER CAKE. YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT. Owner is a LOSER. Usually, I don't waste my time doing a YELP. Who knows or who cares, right? So, we take an UBER from Newport Beach. We hear about this great little restaurant in Manhattan Beach from a friend of ours, who along with several others are meeting us there. A bunch of us were going to be meeting for a birthday at Tony P's in Marina del Rey in the evening (Great Restaurant). So I contacted a few people to meet us at Sloppy's. You guys really missed the boat. Our Bar tab down the street was a little over $1,100. This is before we went to the Marina. We walk into Sloopy's and it appeared to be charming, but empty. This was going to be great, since several people were meeting us there for a kind of prelim party and some serious catching up with each other. We purchased a Groupon for $22.00 (with promo code it was $17.50) to spend up to $40 on Breakfast or Brunch. When we arrive, Victoria told us that they don't do Brunch, and they know that the Groupon needs to be updated, but they just haven't taken the time to do it. I said that I don't want to be argumentative, but you are advertising it, and we did purchase it, is there something you can do for us, we came a long way. She said NO. Then Andrea walked up behind Victoria, and I mentioned the same, she said she'd call the owner. She called the owner, and the owner wasn't interested in our business. Both Andrea and Victoria were nice, but I feel they could have done more to keep our business. We left and started contacting our friends for a different place to meet. I feel bad for whoever would have waited on us; we tipped out at the other place for $235 (waitresses were very happy with us and bought us a round of drinks too) and then went onto the Marina. Oh, and we did get our money back from Groupon. Note to the Owner, don't be such a jerk! It looks like you could have used the business, your place was empty. Note to Victoria, you should not have been so quick to say NO. Andrea, thank you for making the call, and YOU'RE HOT! Note to others, I'm super disappointed, because it looked like such a nice place to spend the afternoon. I walked out hungry, thirsty and with a hole burning in my pocket to spend big on a beautiful Sunday. There is a lesson to be learned here! Hey, I'm also seeing here on YELP, they advertise Brunch. Sloopy's is GREAT! The food is fresh, large portions, and a huge variety. I grew up eating here and although the prices have gone up (I read a few complaints about that), so has the quality. And let's be real people! Going out to a restaurant ANYWHERE is at least $20 per person...Sloopy's is not fast food! Everything is made fresh to order. The milkshakes are made with real ingredients and are MUST HAVE item. As far as the staff, there have been a couple employees that definitely don't fit in with the beautiful, laid back atmosphere. But, the staff seems to be changing and one of the best, most friendly servers my family and I have ever met, 'Chrissy' (who use to work there, years ago, and watched me grow up) is back! So, I know Sloopy's will be a great experience for any newcomers. read more

I just called to make a simple delivery order and the girl who answered the phone put me on hold for approx. 7 minutes, I hung up, called back and instead of putting me on hold this time, she just put the phone down for another 5 minutes before I hung up again. However, this time trying to call back doesn't work as their phone is now conveniently off the hook. If you're too busy to take a delivery order just say so vs being inconsiderate of anyone else's time. Perhaps consider hiring some extra help vs giving poor customer service. I won't be calling back ever, that was the last chance as so many other times I've sat outside waiting 10 minutes for someone to even come greet us! The food is ok, but in all honesty, it's not good enough to make up for the unsophisticated staff. read more

One of my favorite places in South Bay. It's always a 5 star for ambience. This visit unfortunately was not as good. The servers spent more time chatting with each other than tending to our table. We sat 15 minutes before being greeted and getting water. Then the same amount of time for the server to return and get our food order. She was pleasant enough but we all felt like our table was the forgotten table. The fries were sitting in a pool of oil and the California chicken sandwich was dry with burnt chicken. The chocolate raspberry shake was delicious. We have been coming to Sloopys for 20 years and it has always been great. I hope this was a one time occurrence and they are keeping up the standards we have experienced over the years . read more

Wow is all I can say. I recently visited Sloopys again with a friend and had an amazing brunch. They completely updated everything from the food to the plants in their beautiful garden. We started off with crispy brussel sprouts and breakfast potatoes as our appetizers. The brussel sprouts were cooked perfectly and came with this amazing sweet chili sauce that was to die for. As for the potatoes, they were nice and crispy and came with this delicious chipotle-like sauce. For our entree's I ordered the shrimp salad and my friend ordered the southbay cobb. My salad was absolutely amazing. It was super fresh and came with large sized shrimps. My friend really enjoyed his salad as well. Thanks for the great experience! Will be back :) read more

This place is terrible. After many years in the South Bay, I finally decided to go here with my wife. We ordered and waited... and waited... and waited. The place wasn't very busy. After 45 MINUTES, I overhear the waitress talking to the cooks behind the window about our food and find out they never even started on our food; somehow they never got the ticket for our table. This is pretty unacceptable in itself, but the waitress didn't even show any remorse when she told us this news. We told her to cancel the order and got the eff out. I'm never going back to this place and I hope by reading this, you will do the same. read more

Responding to Raul C. comment, as a past worker of Sloopy's I can confirm that it is in fact not true. The kitchen works extremely hard to keep the place clean and the food is made fresh every morning to provide the best quality to our customers. In fact, Raul was very inappropriate with the servers and baristas(me included) who are all UNDERAGE which is why I am not surprised he is trying to bash the place. I am happy the boss protected us as his workers and took action against this behavior before anything bad happened. I love sloopy's! If you have never been there you have to go just to see how unique it is inside. A big tree, little birds, relaxed people. Food is very good but not amazing. If the place wasn't so cool, I would probably go much less frequently. But as it is, I bring out of town guests there all the time. (And to be honest, all my friends rave about the food so it's a pretty easy hit with a lot of people, so don't be timid :) read more

I've been eating here for the past 30 years. The food is great and the place still has a great vibe. Unfortunately the recent price increases are a little too steep, sandwiches that were $9-$11 a year ago are now $14. Life goes on and prices increase everywhere, food costs in general are lower but maybe there rent went up, who knows? read more

Place has been here for decades. Locally owned and you can feel it when you're here. Food is solid, have had shakes here since I was a kid and they haven't changed a bit. Since I live in the El Porto side of Manhattan Beach, Sloopy's is an easy go-to delivery place for me when I want something cheap (relatively) and quick. I have tried many things on their menu, but the only thing I like is their chicken caesar wrap with seasoned fries. It is phenomenal when done right. read more

Pancakes were AMAZING! House potatoes, one hundred percent recommend! House coffee very tasty! The atmosphere with all the plants, stone and waterfall was so relaxing and very enjoyable. Jackeline was an incredible waitress! A great local spot if you're stopping through Manhattan. read more

The food is really good and the service is great. Our waiter is Thomas and he has the best personality. I have been coming here since it opened in the late 60's or early 70's. The menu has really expanded and that's a good thing. The antioxidant salad is to die for! read more

It was my first time coming to sloopy's and I absolutely enjoyed how calm the vibe is and I definitely recommend it. I genuinely love the look of all of the plants and the fire place keeps the room warm all around. The servers are so sweet and considerate. read more

my boyfriend took me here today and the food really exceeded my already high expectations. I got the California Chicken as a wrap and the chicken was nicely cooked and seasoned. Would come here again when I'm in the area and recommend to a friend!! read more
