We came to Sloan's specifically to try their Franken Bloody Mary, which is both a drink and a meal in one. The mason jar glass the Bloody Mary was served holds a whopping 32 ounces. That's a lot of Mary. However, the real entertainment comes from the accessories they put on top of the drink. I've had some wild Bloody Marys, but I've never had one with a cheeseburger slider, mozzarella sticks, chicken wings, a slim jim, and shrimp. The food wasn't amazing. The mozzarella sticks were cold, the slider looked like a white castle burger, and the slim jim and celery stick were both almost frozen. The chicken wings were tasty, and the Bloody Mary itself was excellent. I didn't even finish my drink, but I was still buzzed over an hour after leaving. Service was good at first and then non-existent until the check came. Overall it was definitely an experience that I will remember. read more

Sloan's is consistently excellent homestyle American cuisine Kelly the owner goes out of his way to make everyone feel welcome all the servers are on their game and most have been their years and years the bar has football on TV when it's available and sports in general on their TVs it's a little and cozy bar that seems to once in awhile make a ton of noise. Always consistently good food and quick service. Portions are generous. This place has stood the test of time and never disappoints. My favorite has always been the German Pancake. We had a very sweet server, she was new. She made sure we had everything we needed. Food was tasty and right up my alley. Turns out Sloan's at one time was an Elmer's which so happens to be my favorite family restaurant. Now that I look at the restaurant, I do see the similar decor to Elmer's in Palm Springs! Sloan's a decent spot for breakfast/brunch if you're not trying to go to IHOP or Denny's or some other chain. They have a pretty extensive menu and you'll be sure to find something that you'll like. The interior is spacious and all of the tables/booths are nicely spaced so you don't feel crammed at all. The service wasn't the fastest. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because there was a huge group of 10+ people that our waitress was also serving. I got the Southwest Ranch Breakfast ($13-14) with scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns and pancakes. I like how they give you a host of options to choose from. The selection is great! One complaint that I have was that the hash browns were really undercooked. It was too soft and soggy. I didn't even bother to touch it after my first bite. What a complete let down. The rest of the items were decent. You can't really mess up scrambled eggs and the bacon was nice and crispy. The pancakes were alright as well. It's a decent spot for breakfast/brunch. I was very impressed! Cute little place, just wish they had a real fire going in the fireplace! It was very busy but we still had Great service. The menu has something for everyone, even a German pancake which I have never seen on a menu before. Wish we would have ordered it but it was so big and I really wanted something more savory. I had the Huevos Ranchero and it was delicious. My husband and I both loved it. My husband got the bone in ham breakfast, ham was Smokey, he also got a side of biscuits and gravy and French toast. This place doesn't deserve the high ratings it has.. I agree with Carolina L - Sloan's does have that Denny's / diner -type of atmosphere, but it definitely does not have Denny's type of variety. My eating partner had a hard time getting his choice of eggs, bacon, and sausage. Only one item - and he even confirmed with the waitress - was available for him to order. My experience here was not great at all, beginning with the coffee. A lady came to take our orders for drinks, and we told her just water - no coffee. She later came back after a long time to take our order. Since my eating partner couldn't find anything he wanted, he asked about the sides. They did not have a section on the menu to define sides and prices. She seemed like she just made up some numbers about the sides (Later when she took the order for the table behind me, she gave them different prices). Another lady came around the second time asking if we wanted coffee - we obviously didn't have any coffee cups on our table.. The apple cinnamon waffles that I ordered didn't look too appetizing, especially with the weird "glaze" on top. It looked like creamy whipped butter. I would have preferred to eat my waffles without the "glaze." During the meal, we both found hair in our food. We were both pretty grossed out. The waffles were soggy and not fresh. At the end of the meal, I found out that she charged me for a coffee and a coke, both of which I did not order. We obviously only had waters on our table. When she came back, she didn't give me a return receipt. She gave me both the old and new receipts. I was en route to visit a client and it was going to be a hot day. Sloans opens at 7:00 am during the summer so I arrived early for bfast. I opted for a healthy option of turkey sausage patties, scrambled eggs and multi - grain pancakes. I requested sugar free syrup which my waitress eagerly supplied. The food was yummy especially the pancakes which contained nuts of some sort. Overall my breakfast was filling and healthy and it was nice to support a independent restaurant. So, I have mixed feelings right now. We usually love sloan's but had a bad experience today. We ordered breakfast online and picked up. When we got home, I started cutting up the pancakes for my kids and found hairs. Not just one, a clump of hairs. And it didn't look like hair from someone's head. Luckily it was the first thing I opened so all the other food was untouched. I took it back and asked for a refund. Didn't want to make a scene because that's not what I'm about. Although I did get my money back I never received one apology. Plus, I wasn't going to be refunded my tip until I asked for it. Why would I want to leave a tip for inedible food? I'm more disappointed than anything. Sadly, this experience just ruined all of the good ones for us. Just want to add that the employee who issued the refund was not rude at all, just as I said before, I never got any kind of apology. read more

So I saw all the reviews about this place's pancakes being "the best I ever had" and I thought to myself, how good can pancakes be? I'm referring to the regular pancakes. I know dutch pancakes are different and really good. My favorite pancake place is at Solvang because they have dutch pancakes. This place has dutch pancakes, which they call "Dutch babies" (weird name). I actually choose to have the regular pancakes and YELPERS you have it right, the pancakes here ARE really good. Fluffy, soft, and buttery!! Couldn't believe how good it was. My omelet was just okay, but for $10 - 3 pancakes, a huge omelet, and breakfast potato - that's a crazy good deal. My husband's sausage skillet was really good. I'm normally not a fan of sausages but they were really good. The sausages were really flavorful!!
