Every table I went to was dirty. I looked on the floor and noticed the disgust next to the wall. So much trash. The table we sat at was sticky and so was the part under the seats. It was all over my calf. The girl that rang me up had on extremely longs fake nails and couldn't even grab my cash off the counter. When we were th were around 1pm it was pretty much empty. The chicken and waffles doesn't come with a dipping sauce. If you look at their dipping sauces, maple syrup isn't one of them. So why do I have to pay 40 cents for a dipping sauce when my order comes with chicken strips. The maple syrup is for my waffle. Not the strips Slims. Anyway, the waffle was tasteless,mushy and bad. I ordered through DoorDash, so maybe that played a part, but the food just wasn't great. The chicken sandwich was really dry, and the brownie was dry as well. I also paid for sauce, but it wasn't included in the bag. It might be better when ordered directly at the restaurant, so I may give it another try in person next time. While heading out of town a stopped by this place again. The first time I went, I wasn't impressed with their sandwich. But I wanted to get something that was easy to eat on the road. I ended up with the tenders and fries and they were really good. The fried chicken tenders were large and the batter is awesome. The three sauces I got to dip them in were good, but I preferred the chicken by itself. The French fries are McDonalds style. Thin and salty. They were awesome. First time customer. I ordered the 3 piece grilled chicken tenders meal for my wife and I ordered the chicken sandwich. The tenders were good, but my sandwich had some hard, rubbery, sections in the meat. I thought it was just one little section of the sandwich, but it was about 1/3 of the meat. I couldn't eat the rest of the sandwich. I ordered on-line and the order was ready when I got there. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant looked clean. One thing I couldn't find in the on-line ordering system was how to replace the mayo on the sandwich with one of the sauces available for the strips order. Slim Chickens is a fun new fried chicken joint in Stetson that we've been excited about for a while now...unfortunately our experience left much to be desired. The drive thru was efficient and everyone was very nice, so that went smoothly. The restaurant itself is clean, fresh, new, and a decent place to eat in for fast food. We ordered their signature chicken strips meal with multiple sauces. The food came up fairly quickly and we drove home to dig right in! The portions are average and the prices somewhat reasonable which is a nice change from recent fast food price hikes. The disappointment came when we tasted our meals and found lack of flavor, soggy fries, and nothing special about Slim Chickens...I guess that's why they push the sauces. Popeyes and chik fil a have great spice and flavor and we were anticipating the same here, but sadly it's just mediocre. They do offer appetizers which we also indulged in with some fried okra and that was super soggy and not very good. I asked the night manager why that was and he explained but quickly offered to rectify the situation. Amazing customer service. We ordered the cayenne chicken sandwiches, fried okra, pickles, and a drink. Most combo meals came to $15 per meal. The sandwiches were "ok", brioche bun was semi cold. The chicken was well seasoned but the cayenne sauce seemed bit salty. My friend enjoyed her okra. The fried pickles were lightly battered however it was salty. You can choose a sauce with the pickles so I picked ranch. It didn't have much flavor to it. Staff were nice and friendly. So I am a huge fan of Canes chicken but with this new spot . I'm hooked it has a whole lot less breading on the tenders . And u have the option of getting all chicken tenders or side by side with buffalo wings . And they also with fries , bread , your drink and sauces . What a combination ... oh did I mention they have white gravy . That just made it 100 times better . Plus it's close to home and they have patience to help you out . Unfortunately I have to say I'm a little disappointed and I really really wanted to love this place since it's a new local spot close to the house. I'm going to give a little credit, it's only been open a short period of time and it's definitely chaos. However, had to ask four different employees what their signature slim sauce tasted like. I definitely feel that that should be something everyone taste, especially if it's a signature item. I waited for about a total of 20 minutes just to get a receipt which I never actually got because for some reason the machine had no record of my order. The worst part about that is that 10 minutes of it was while they already had my food. So by the time I got my food home it was not as hot as it could be. The ordering process was a little hard. The girl that took her order didn't seem to really know a lot. She had no idea what the gravy was or how to describe it. We asked her to upgrade our fry side to a a fried pickles and she just gave us an entire order of fried pickles. She just seemed very confused and not well prepared for the rush that they were having. The food itself is okay. Like I said, unfortunately it probably wasn't as warm as we could have had it, but the chicken itself seemed to be a bit dry. The fries were okay. Nothing special. The pickles again probably would have been better had they not sat but we're definitely salty. Comparing it to another place like Canes or Chick-fil-A, we will give it a few months and give it another shot. It wasn't terrible. It just was not what we hoped it would be. I was really looking forward to trying Slim Chickens since I've been driving by the location for months now as they were building it. The line in the drive thru wasn't too long and the people working it were fairly friendly. I thought the employees were overall good. The food is unfortunately another story. We got ours to go and we only live about 7 minutes from the restaurant. By the time we got home, all our food was soggy as the steaming hot food just made everything limp. The tenders are on the smaller side but that was fine. The seasoning on them was ok but nothing exceptional. The Slim Sauce is just awful. A thick consistency and almost no flavor. The fries were hard to judge because they were just not crispy. I got the 3 and 3 combo so I also got wings. None of the wings were cooked enough. The flavor of the sauce was ok but just not enough to flavor the wing. Garlic toast was ok but not anything I'd travel to get. Overall it was just disappointing. I am a big supporter of businesses in our area but I just think there are better options if you want chicken strips or wings. read more

We enjoyed the crispy chicken sandwich. It was moist chicken, tasty, the sauce was a real plus. We were surprised as to how much we liked eating there. Our only complaints we had was the staff needs to be trained on keeping the dining room cleaned up. It was kind of an uncomfortable place to eat. From entering the ordering area to selecting a table it wasn't very clean. They also didn't seem like they were happy to welcome us in. Whilst it is close go me, I prefer to drive 10-15 mins for canes or chic-fil-a at this point. I have never witnessed a store that was managed as bad as this. The manager (couldnt get his name) was beyond rude to his employees on the floor of the restaurant. Unacceptable. As a ex-restaurant manager it made me sick. My experience in the past here was good when this location was new. Today was not nearly as good. It started with me giving Ezra, who was taking my order, asking me if I wanted my change back. I guess the corporate policy won't allow a tip jar for the exhaustive work of taking orders so Ezra believes that it is okay to ask paying customers if they want to give him their change. I worked at McDonald's and made $2.90 an hour when I was 16 years old. I would have been fired on the spot had I ever asked to keep the customers money! As for the quality of the food, it had obviously been sitting around for a while since it was ready before I had even gotten my drink and walked to the booth.
