    Charbroiled cheeseburger very good
    Joyce S.

Update June 2025: Never had their burger before so this time tried it and the charbroiled really does add additional flavor. Fries still mighty pale and wish they would be golden. Chocolate cake nice and moist and not too sweet. Jadah was very helpful making sure I got my birthday deal cake and answered all my questions. As always, fun atmosphere with all the time warp 50s decor, so scrap the plastic straws and plastic ketchup cups and let's go retro paper!

Portillo's is a chain place that focuses on selling Chicago style food. Their menu consists of hot dogs, beef sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, burgers, salads, pastas, and shakes. Their interior design is quite aesthetically pleasing and is redolent of Johnny Rocket diners. You can either make an order with a real person or with a machine. The service is amiable enough and there's plenty of places to sit. I tried out a spicy chicken sandwich and a chocolate cake shake. The sandwich was only mildly spicy but was serviceable. I liked that the large shake sizes are larger than a large normal drink. I wish I had ordered a chocolate shake instead as the chocolate cake shake tasted more like a mixture of vanilla and they actually put a cake in it; I found most of it at the bottom of the cup.

We've been to pretty much all the portillos in the valley and this location had to have been the most inviting and unique one. The staff was very friendly, helpful and attentive. Food came out quick and was delicious. We had ordered the jumbo dog and polish dog with onion rings. Definitely would recommend trying this location!

Great decor. It has a 50's diner retro feel Excellent food. The beef and Italian sausage was nice and moist. The grilled chicken was flavorful. The minus star was due to how loud it is in the restaurant. It was a very busy lunch crowd and it was difficult to have a conversation without yelling. Not sure how that could be remedied.

5/5 food, 5/5 chocolate shake. If you ever get a cheeseburger from here, make sure you get it on brioche bread! I added bacon to mine for a fat crunch. Service was outstanding! Our cashier made it easy for us to order. Ambiance takes me back to the 90's in rockstar form, pretty groovy!

Great food & friendly service. A few combo meals to select from via inside, drive through & or online. The meals can range from: $10-18 depending on what you choose from burgers, chicken sandwiches, Italian beef & more. A suggestion: for the Italian beef sandwich to automatically come with sweet & hot peppers without charging $2 to add it on. The prices are already high enough & this specialty sandwich should have the items included.

I first tried Portillo's in Chicago. When i found out that they have branches in AZ i was so excited. While visiting family in Peoria, we had to go check out Portillo's. It did not disappoint. I love the italian beef and sausage sandwich dipped in gravy. With a combination of both the sweet and the spicy peppers. I love that the gravy soaks the bread down but the s sausage ensures that the sandwich still has a crunch. Service was great. Everyone had a smile on their face and was energetic. I love the diner feel of every portillo's i have been to. It makes me want to sit down and take my time enjoying my meal. The chocolate cake was to die for. My family loved the famous chocolate cake shake. Definitely like no other.

The ultimate favorite date night anytime I go on a date it's always for tell us as a fellow Chicagoian it's top notch it's a nostalgic feeling and you can't miss you you have have to try the iconic Italian beef please thank you and peace

Growing up in Chicago I patronize Portillos occasionally due to we had so many choices. Micky's, Johnnie's, Chickies, Na Na to name a few. All of the restaurants listed are than Portillos. Since Dick Portillo sold the business the portions and the product has gone down hill. On a positive note the Portillos staff is friendly and the restaurant is spotless. Okay let's get back to my visit today I ordered a combo with hot peppers. I was not empresses with the size of the sandwich and it was dry. The Italian sausage was great had a snap when bitting into the sandwich. The photo I attached shows the the plastic fork being larger than the sandwich. The French fries were made up of small broken pieces with a few large fries mixed in. I have attached a photo comparing the size of the sandwich to the plastic fork. I paid over $17 for a small combo, small fries and a small drink. I know it s Portillos but there was a reason there were only 4 people in the restaurant at 4:30. The ambiance is nostalgic and has a fun vibe playing golden oldies.

When we arrived, we were told the wait was one hour and decided to go to the bar to start. BEST DECISION EVER! The absolute best service ever! Marissa and the other bartender (I didn't get her name, but sweet and awesome!) They took such good care of us, we will definitely come back next year. Menu recommendations: the beer battered cheese curds, brownie and creme brûlée deserts. The entrees and drinks we ordered were off a seasonal menu, but I'm sure the regular menu is similarly great. Make sure you get the cheese curds though! Chef's kiss

Disappointed. My husband and I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while now. We came on…read moreSaturday just after 4pm and brought our kids (9,12). Downstairs host was nice, asked if we wanted to eat upstairs or down. We decided upstairs. They just told us to head up and talk with the host. We went up. Someone from the bar did shout hi! There was no host seen. There was a handful of workers chatting at the bar even the downstairs host came up and walked by us to join the group chatting. Upstairs had 2 tables of 6-10 people, a handful of small parties outside. We stood there for 4-5 minutes before someone in a St. Patrick's day outfit running food said someone would be with us shortly. Waited another few minutes before the host emerged from the bathroom and sat us. Both my husband and I waited tables and I bartended before (10 years experience). We have a lot of patience and understanding. We were sat and not immediately greeted but a woman came up and quickly dropped water off. Her body language was dismissive and only said just "dropping off water". I really thought it might have been another host or busser, that was tired of getting mistaken for a sever. I brushed it off. We waited so much longer before our server (happened to be the same girl that dropped off the water) came back to take our drink order. She was cold and didn't make eye contact. She was very short with us. Left to put the drink order in. She did bring the kids their soft drinks, but again with an attitude. It was as if we were ruining her day by coming in. 10 min went by. In that time, we saw her walk by and again avoid eye contact. Not even a "your bar drinks are being made", or "I am just going to run these dishes back and come back to take your order. " A really nice bartender came back and started talking with us about baseball because we were coming from a spring training game. After waiting longer and still no sign our server was going to come back in a timely manner, I told my husband, that I would rather leave now and not let this server ruin our experience. There are plenty of places around that I would rather give my money too and they will treat us better. We left, on our way out we did let a manager know. They did apologized and asked where we were sitting. Two stars for the nice female bartender that was decked out in St. Patrick's day attire upstairs. Rating is strictly for service because we didn't get to try anything. I am willing to give this place another try. I will update my review if we do.
