Awesome place for Bourbon. Large selection and many craft cocktails to chose from. If you like to try off road places, this is your place. Happy hour is good . I didn't try the food but it looks amazing. I had a hard time choosing a bourbon with their large selection. read more

Drinks were awesome but service was pretty slow. It was busy but not overly busy and I waited 10+ minutes just to place my drink order.

Simplistic but perfection. The tastiest avocado toast I have ever had menu was small enough but catered to my needs. Reasonably priced for great quality. Portion was slightly smaller than I had hoped for but that was me being greedy! Would be a great spot to have a work lunch or a catchup with friends read more

Slightly Toasted - Perfectly cooked egg. Really light and refreshing - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Very aesthetically pleasing ambience, with a modern yet rustic look. Completely empty restaurant at 11:30 on a weekday, before lunch rush. Staff was friendly and helpful with the menu. Honestly, can't go wrong with any of the toast. Avocado toast was quite excellent, but you should absolutely get the Nutella butterscotch. Three toasts left two people feeling pretty full. Great restaurant, highly recommend. read more

I went here with a couple of friends for happy hour. The ambiance of the place was really nice. We ordered cocktails and a toast flight, which was delicious. We took Plinko "mystery" shots for $5 each, which was a lot of fun. My only complaint is that our server, who had informed us he had also recently become a bartender, didn't seem to know anything about the menu. We asked several normal questions (e.g. "what toasts come in the toast flight?") that he seemed bewildered by. Other than that, I had a great time and will definitely return. read more

The turkey sandwich was awesome and the mimosas were even better but the service was horrible. It was like they didn't plan on being busy and only had 2 servers. Disappointing because otherwise the food was good. read more

Upon first visit, we had already started planning our trip back to Slightly Toasted. If whiskey is your preferred spirit, this is the place to be. I had the "House of the Rising Sun" cocktail which was delicious, as I love my bourbon with accents of citrus. The chicken pesto sandwich was just okay, but I could overlook that given how impressed I was by the drink. On the other hand, I tried my husband's burger and it got the thumbs up from us both. I will for sure be returning for a relaxed night out after work, but am also intrigued to try their coffees and toasts. read more

Great place for brunch and some drinks after work. I workmright next door and my teammates recommended this place for drinks, and we weren't disappointed at all. Its usually packed after work so you might want arrive a bit early to get a seat if you are a big group. I also went for lunch a couple times, the egg plant and burrata is delicious, housemase burrata is great too - the rhubarb jam they serve is just perfect; avocado toast - yummmm - the perfectly poached egg, creamy avocado, and the crunchy toast and salad. I tried the turkey sandwich which was also good. The turkey was juicy and flavorful. The prices are reasonable too. Overall had great time every time read more

Update: thank you to Tyler who engaged very quickly in an effort to address concerns. A sign of quality management and a willingness to improve. The burger was good. Raising the stars 'mostly as a result of service' to 3. We really wanted to like this place. The drink list is decent but the service and the toast menu is really lacking the promise. Toast were under whelming and not to a standard that you could reproduce at home. We sat at the bar, expecting great service and we're disappointed. The staff were more engaged with cleaning their cutlery vs providing good service to bar patrons. I'd skip this place, walk 3 blocks and be in the heart of west loop. read more

My wife and I stopped in one weekday as we were exploring Chicago. Only grabbed a couple of cappuccinos but barista was the bomb. The kind that you find yourself taking a picture of it and don't wanna drink it because it was so perfectly prepared. LOL Ok yes I drank it...It was delish. This layout of this place during the day allows for a relaxing and very comfortable place to converse with other while feeling at home. This is definitely our new spot to hit when we are in the area. read more

This place has potential. The avocado toast with egg was very tasty and full of flavor. The tuna tartar tasted great, but really just a few bites, so very much on the smaller side of things. The hummus toast was good, but nothing really special. The burgers were too much. They felt very greasy and too much going on with fried ingredients and flavors, my husband and I didn't feel too well after that. The waitresses was lovely, friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself is in a weird location and we kinda felt we were in a corporate building which at the time had show cars inside next to the restaurant. read more

I love this place, I work nearby so I'm often stopping in for a bite for lunch. Super friendly and talented servers, bartenders and chefs. Their coffee is fantastic- just tried the main line special and it was outstanding. Thumbs up to the Baristas- they know what to do. I was a bit skeptical because of the loop location and closeness to Ogilvie- but this place has fair pricing, and a really great selection of booze and beer. Whiskey and Bourbon seems to be their specialty, looking forward to trying it the next time I'm here during an appropriate drinking time. read more

Not Gluten Free friendly. Cross contamination. Servers unable to answer what is gluten free. Too bad because service was good.

Very chill place across from Ogilvy. I was looking for a place to grab a drink with someone right after work. I needed something quiet, but nice and this fit the bill well. Drinks were great and service was outstanding. We were there from 5-7, so if you're looking for a review on what a great PARTY place it is, look at another review. However, if you're looking a great place that has both outdoor and indoor seating with a mellow vibe where you can enjoy a drink with friends (and hear each other) with a great staff, then this is the place for you. read more

I came here for lunch on a Friday and ordered the quinoa mushroom burger. It was really good! I would definitely come back just for this burger. I also tried the nitro coffee for the first time here and enjoyed it. This place is kind of small so it may not accommodate large parties. The atmosphere is kind of intimate. Prices are average. read more

A friend and I were armed with a gilt city voucher for dinner, so we got to try several items. Turns out slightly toasted has the longest and latest happy hour I've ever heard of (from 6:30 to 9:30) so that is another way of experiencing the menu on a budget. We started with a flight of toasts: fava bean hummus, strawberries and cream, and butterscotch nutella. That's in order of preference. I'd eat the fava bean toast again but would probably skip the other two. The bacon and egg toast was the best of the night. Granted, most things with bacon are pretty good but this bacon was even better than usual. I had the frose drink and would not get it again. I can't remember the name of my friend's drink but she liked it. For entrees, I had braised short rib sandwich and my friend had the burger. The short rib sandwich was good, but I'd definitely get the burger next time. Both come on sourdough brioche bun that is delicious and the flavors of the sandwiches, especially the burger were on point. read more

nice ambient with good whiskey and mixed drinks. But the food is just ok, everything is salty and greasy, the avacado toast is so so, the kale salad tasted a bit weird. Overall, the best thing is the nutella toast read more

Great place for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or drinks. They specialize in coffee, toast, and whiskey and really bring it home on each. The staff have been really friendly and attentive each time I've been. Prices are a bit high for what some of the items are (hence the 4 stars). Highly recommend. read more

For a place that is all about toast, they need to have better bread for their toast. Their beer selection was cool and I was delighted to try a new one that I ended up loving. And I liked my turkey sandwich well enough, but the bread left a lot to be desired. My friend's sourdough toast looked more like bagged wheat bread and my bread looked like bagged white bread, which fell apart around my filling-laden sandwich. My homemade chips were too greasy and rather flavorless as well. The service was super friendly and we had a really nice lunchtime experience here otherwise, but we both found the bread to be lacking. If they upped their game with some artisan breads, the experience would be just right. read more

This place is more of a bar than a restaurant, but the food and coffee were really good. The breakfast menu is pretty limited, but good. We got the avocado toast and the egg and cheese sandwich. It wasn't a lot of food, so if you're looking for something light, this place is great. The coffee was delicious, strong and flavorful. Service was great too. We came at 9 AM so we didn't try the booze, but if you're a whiskey freak this is a must try. The whiskey and drink menu is extensive and varied. Great atmosphere, I'd love to check this place out at night, I bet it's pretty swanky. read more

Though we were given a head's up while reserving at 8.30pm that the kitchen would close at 9pm; I wasn't expecting all food to be as bland as it turned out. With the place almost empty on a Friday night; maybe it's a more day place? I had high hopes for a whiskey bar but I guess will keep looking. read more

When this building opened, we were one of the first floors to be occupied and there was nothing in there! Now, bars and restaurants...awesome! However, there is nothing special about Slightly Toasted. There were four of us who sat at the bar and were just grabbing some drinks. The bartender seemed like he really did not want to be there. If you asked for suggestions, he would only say something generic like a Manhattan or something. I would like some more creativity considering they are supposed to be a cocktail bar. I tried the Upside Down and there was no pineapple flavor whatsoever. There was a little bit of spice but I would have preferred more. One of my friends got their basic Old Fashioned and did not care for it so he made her something else which she said was good. Also the bathrooms are outside of the bar in the regular building, which is kind of a pain although not a huge deal. It was super loud in there as well. We couldn't really hear each other and there were only two other parties inside. Overall, nothing was bad but nothing stood out either. I'd like to try the food next time to see if that changes my opinion at all. read more

It's cool. It's chill. Cool location for after work with coworkers. I havent tried the toast yet but the whiskey bar is awesome.

I have a new favorite place to visit! I literally had the best Americano of my life here. I also had the steak and egg toast and it was killer. I can't wait to keep coming back and trying more things. This is a cool restaurant with great vibe and it's reasonably priced! read more

Super stoked about this place and its potential! The whiskeys drew us in and the whiskey + food kept us happy. The menu definitely has its kinks to work out with a couple spelling errors and the labels of certain whiskeys, but we ordered the steak & egg toast (which included a heavenly steak tartare), the burger (SUPER with excellent bourbon pickles and a chicharron, and the beet salad (displayed beautifully and yummy flavors). We also ordered four different types of whiskeys which were all fantastic, although we were bummed they didn't have the Hibiki in yet. It'd be great for them to create some whiskey flights/flight combo in the future as right now you have to pay for each pour, but they have a nice selection to choose from. read more

Great chill place to go after work or even before you get on the train. Extensive whiskey menu and decent beer and wine selection. Service and staff were good and the food was better than expected. Toast is not simply toast and some butter and jam here, it's quality eats. read more

Came for dinner with a buddy before a Blackhawks game. The turkey sandwich was solid, but I was really disappointed when my buddy's burger came...because I didn't order it. I love yelp but I don't review as often as I should! I just thought these guys deserved the recommendation! The drinks were amazing and the service was impeccable! I'm already coming back for lunch this week! Thanks boys for the great service and great music:) read more

Had lunch and happy hour here a couple times with coworkers. The Bourbon & Nutella toast and the Mushroom & Quinoa burger are both SO good and I love the outdoor seating in the summertime. The staff is usually pretty friendly. For happy hour, I love their rose selection. There's always somewhat of a crowd, so you can people watch, but always find a table when you walk in. I'd recommend it if you're in the neighborhood. read more

Be ready to wait if you want to eat here. The food was mediocre. We will not be coming back which is sad since we enjoyed the decor and setting so much. read more

Great selection, average food. I just did the shareables- cheeseboard was good, the ménage a tois (spelling??) was very good, ceviche was bad, and the crepes were also bad. Service was garbage. 20 min for an old fashion. I ordered two, and it took 20 min both times. There are plenty of way better after work spots than this. read more

Not a bread-eater really, I tasted one hors d'oeuvre and ordered a dish that featured seasoned hummus, as a meat substitute, greens, and onion. The slices of bread were pretty large, and the dish, no offense, reminded me of pizza. read more

For the price, not worth the food. Something I could of made at home, and better at that. My Nutella was OVER KILL, and even the waitor told me "it's super sweet a lot of people avoid the Nutella" I asked for it to be cut in half and still was too much. Caramel, Nutella and some other desert like liquids. And the price was too much, that is what pulled me away the most. I would give it a 4* if the price wasn't so high. Their coffee on the other hand was good and I am VERY PICKY WITH COFFEE so that was good. Give this place a try, don't let my bad experience pull you away. read more

I was invited to meet some people here after work. I don't think it was a coincidence that it was Whiskey Monday. Prices are half off, sounds good right? Not so fast my friend, the shots are very small, and to get a double means double the price. It's a decent day to go, if you want to try some whiskeys you have never tried before. They have a fair collection, but even during happy hour, I did not find the prices very reasonable. We ordered the charcuterie, it was fine, not a large varieties of meats. The cheeses were okay, I can't even recall what they were. The decor was not hipster nor upscale, more like average living room. The service was good, we never waned for anything. I could go back, if invited, but I don't see myself suggesting this place. read more

Ok so we weren't drinking. Maybe we should have...two of us had the turkey sandwiches and the third had the chicken salad. All were seriously lacking. I had wanted a burger but was told the only way they are served is medium well, no matter what the customer wants. Chips were really greasy service was average at best. If you go, go thirsty, not hungry! read more

I really enjoyed this new-to-me spot! I ordered the B-A-L-T (bacon, avocado, lettuce and tomato) and it hit the spot. It was basically a big kid grilled cheese, as it came with perfectly melted pepper jack cheese. (Yum!) I opted for the side salad ($1 up charge) instead of chips. It was a nice frisée salad with a super light dressing (probably oil & vinegar, as it wasn't overly flavorful). The serving size wasn't huge, but it was perfect for me. Pricing was good at about $13 + tax. Interior was a bit dark for lunch, but I'd rather err on the darker side than experience bright fluorescent lights. I'll be back! read more

Came for lunch during the work week. The outdoor seating was nice. Service was friendly. The menu is small but interesting. I ordered a peach and prosciutto salad with a goat cheese dressing (as it was told by the waiter). It was pretty disappointing for a few reasons. The prosciutto seemed more like thin sliced ham and not a true prosciutto. The goat cheese was minimal - just a few small dollops. The worst part of it was the dressing. EXTREMELY salty. So salty my tongue was raw half way through the meal. I couldn't finish it. Never mind the fact that the "prosciutto" was pretty salty already. My co-worker had a side salad and she too found the dressing very salty. Based on that experience I probably would go again (maybe) but would say something if the meal was equally disappointing. read more

Bacon and eggs toast with the main line coffee. On point. Can also get whiskey with your breakfast which is always a plus.

Awesome atmosphere, great for a casual or business lunch. I got the BLT and the strawberry delight toast. The wait staff was attentive and very nice. The BLT had pimento cheese which was intriguing since I do love a little spice in anything I eat. However, the cheese (I think) made the bread soaked with oil and fat. It was super greasy to eat so I ate it as an open face sandwich because every time I picked it up I had to wipe grease off my fingers. The strawberry delight toast was advertised as "strawberry and basil" which made me assume there would be actual strawberries and fresh basil on the toast- nope. This was just strawberry jam which is something I could've made on my own at home. Pretty disappointing with the strawberry toast. Would definitely go back but try something new instead. read more

Love this little gem; easy for happy hours and super accompanying. The drinks are good, but the toasts are amazing; and I love the portions. Great for a quick bite as well! read more
