On date night our table wasn't ready at the Italian restaurant across the street. We had about 30 minutes to wait so we went into the bar next door but it was smoky and disgusting so we left and came here. Much better! The only smell was of the fresh popcorn being made. It was crowded but a much better atmosphere. Music was jamming and it was a nice crowd. They have a long bar and several tables on the inside. Three unisex restrooms and an outdoor patio. We grabbed a table and my husband bought us martinis for our wait. They were expensive but good. We were only here for a short time but it was a nice start to our evening and we would come here again.

Uhm $46 for two Martinis. I'm glad I'm not single and dating my goodness this is nuts. Only in Chicago will you pay $50 for two drinks. Well, at least they were strong and made perfectly. I should have gotten 12 olives for a $23 drink

If your looking for a great neighborhood bar I suggest giving them a try. The bartenders customer service is great and quick. Some drinks do cost more then others, but on the good side you can get any food delivered there you want!

It's no secret I love a good bourbon whiskey so I stopped by here with my fiance on a whim on a lovely Saturday afternoon. It was completely empty when we arrived, which honestly was perfect to me lol. You order drinks at the bar and can sit where you like; they have a covered patio outdoor in the back that's very college-like with decorations and tvs. You know, the street signs and college flags back there. They also have Jenga on a few of the outdoor tables for a little fun and entertainment. Like I said, college vibes lol. The bartender (his name was Daniel I believe) was so cool and recommended bourbons to taste which was awesome. This place gets 5 stars purely because it wasn't crowded and the bartender took such great care in making sure we were taken care of. He also explained the origin of each bourbon which was great. I will certainly come back when I'm looking for a good whiskey drink and cool vibe on slower days.

Based on the reviews and the cocktail menu featured on their website, we decided to try out Rebel & Rye before dinner. The enclosed back patio is pretty comfortable and has a bunch of high tops to hang out in. All ordering is done at the bar. When we went to scan the menu QR, we assumed something was wrong because all the drinks were very fall and winter themed (we came Memorial Day weekend when it was hottt). Many included apple cider, pumpkin syrup or purée even though the online menu featured watermelon and other summery drinks. This was kind of a disappointment. When we asked the bartender, it seemed like they we're going to have a meeting about changing the menu in the coming week, but I'd say they're already way behind the mark if they haven't even discussed a summer menu yet. Seemed like they were just trying to finish off their fall/winter ingredients, which is fine but is usually done at a discounted price alongside a weather and season appropriate menu! Overall, still a good experience because they had some board and card games available while we sipped. Wouldn't rush back, but would be open to trying it again towards the end of summer to see what menu they came up with!

It came with pita bread which added to the dinning experience. Just wonderfully enjoyable. My wife enjoyed the Fish and Chips which beat Bobby Flay. True words from the menu. Wife said if was the best fish and chips she has ever had. Then came the dessert. Now I asked Nicolas and he suggested Pavlova and Blood Orange. Which lead me to survey Margaret and she suggested Sticky toffee date cake. After a friendly jostling back and forth of desert knowledge Greg the Maitre-d made also suggested the Sticky toffee. Both came and to be honest both were outstanding. Excellent choices. All and all this was a great dinning experience from beginning to end. We will return next time we are in Chicago.

The food from Theory never disappoints. Last year, I had the Theory Burger and was delighted by how good it was. This year, I tried the Challah French Toast and it was pleasantly delicious. The Mac and Cheese was also a solid choice, and for $8, they provided a good amount of food! And that Chicken Parm Egg Roll...wow they were so good!! I was skeptical from the name, but this was like having a pizza roll but in egg roll form The only reason I am giving this place 4 stars is because Theory has severely up charged for the Champions League. I recall last year a reservation was $5/person, but this year they charged $15/person. For this reason, we came in at 9AM opening time for an 8-person table and were able to get one without having to pay the reservation fee. I really like how organized Theory is though, as a sports bar. Service has always been great and I may come again for another game!

We had visited Florence last year, and one of the numerous wonderful moments of our trip to Italy was seeing "Il Porcellino" - the lucky bronze boar fountain that draws tourists from around the world. A copy of the boar stands proudly near the entrance of the restaurant, and though it is not as old as the original 1634 sculpture, it was a charming reminder of our amazing Italian holiday. Did I mention that the weekday Happy Hour (4-6PM) specials are quite good? The specials are served only at the bar area, so you might have to wait a few minutes for available seating. We started with some drinks, including two kinds of Negroni. The wild mushroom arancini (5 little balls for $6) were the smallest I've tried, but they were creamy and melt-in-your mouth delicious. The whipped ricotta and jam beautifully served on a strip of toasty focaccia was a unique taste sensation. Prime beef meatballs and short rib sliders on toasted ciabatta bread also hit the spot. Even though we were merely dining at the bar, we enjoyed the overall vibe of the restaurant. There are lots of photos on the walls, interesting lighting from the ceiling, nice serving dishes, and servers who seem to know who their regular diners are. We look forward to returning to Il Porcellino, to bask in that indescribable feeling of being in Italy again.

It's one of those places that you find yourself talking about long after the meal is over. The garlic bread alone is worth the visit. They pour what feels like a gallon of garlic butter over it, and somehow it's still never enough. It's rich, indulgent, and absolutely delicious. We order it every single time and would probably be disappointed if we didn't. The real star of the show, though, is the lasagna. Between the two of us, we've had lasagna at countless restaurants, and nothing has come close to this one. It's hands down the best lasagna we've ever had. Perfect layers, incredible flavor, and the kind of comfort food that makes you want to savor every bite. Their Grey Goose espresso martini is also unmatched. We've tried espresso martinis all over Chicago, and this one is still our favorite. It's smooth, perfectly balanced, and the ideal way to start or end the meal. The atmosphere is another reason we love coming here. The restaurant is gorgeous inside, with a dark, moody vibe that makes it feel special without being stuffy. It's the perfect date night spot whether you're celebrating something or just looking for a great night out together. If you're visiting Chicago and love Italian food, Il Porcellino is a must. Great food, amazing drinks, beautiful ambiance, and a meal you'll be thinking about long after you've left. We make a point to visit every time we're in town, and it never disappoints.

It is definitely unique, creative, and a massive differentiator from any other cocktail bar I've been to. Now, let's talk cocktails! The creativity of the interior extends into the menu. Unlike some places that just make variations of existing classics (except for items specifically so named, like the Old Fashioned or Espresso Martini), all of their cocktails are unique and interesting. Time for a punch card? I ordered the Maximillian the Imposter. While I'm not typically a fan of banana (except for banana bread), I thought I'd step out of my comfort zone, and I wanted to try something 'flaming'. Flaming it was! The preparation of the drink involved a surprising amount of fire. I initially thought this was just for show, but no, this translated into a noticeable smoky flavor. Beyond that, the drink was strong, not overly sweet, and an all-around delight. There was one bartender on the night I was here, and while it was busy, I was still able to get my drink in a reasonable amount of time. I also feel as though they have reasonable prices, especially considering the quality and the market rates. King of Cups gets busy, and for good reason: they are an all-around phenomenal place, from the drinks to the vibe, and everything in between.
