Little Italy (pizza by the slice)
Annabelle R.

Google maps strangely takes you on an unnecessary detour if following walking directions, but you can find the restaurant entrance in the tunnel-like walkway that passes through the building. The place offers both indoor and outdoor seating with quirky artworks on the walls and a modern, clean, and inviting space. Service was okay this past Friday in the evening. A bit slow, but I didn't encounter any problems. Ordered by the slice, and got the detroit style Little Italy and Walker's White Pie, which were both reheated in a quick fashion. The ingredients and crust on the Little Italy slice were delicious, savory toppings, and buttery and crisp edges. However, the Walker's White Pie, even after being toasted, didn't taste as good. It was still edible and I enjoyed the melted cheese (as I would any pizza), but it just tasted old, like it had been sitting in the display case for too long, the crust and toppings sort of stale and the alfredo sauce dried up. That said, I still appreciate the variety of pizza flavors and styles offered by Slice House, and I wouldn't hesitate to visit other locations of the chain when in the mood for some saucy, cheesy goodness.

Awesome Pizza. Excellent service. They make you feel welcome. There are so many different gourmet style pizzas to choose from. Taste is subtle and balanced. Lots of vegetarian choices too. Will visit again.

Came for an afternoon pick me up & it didn't disappoint. I really enjoyed the fact that I could have my own pizza flavor & not have to share a whole pie! There are four styles to choose from - Detroit, Sicilian, New York & Long Island Grandma. That im itself was an experience - square or round, pan fried or cooker in steel pans, focacia crust or flour-based? I enjoyed the Drunken Italian. It was doughy & crusty. The vodka sauce was the perfect base to the bacon, mozzarella, & cheddar. It was heated in the oven before serving it to me. It is definitely good for 2! Service is simple. Order at the counter. Slices are displayed next to the register. Once it is heated & finished with garlic, Olive oil, oregano& romano cheese, they'll call you to pick it up or they'll bring it to your table (for dine in). Dining room has limited seating inside but more outside. It is casual & easy. It is well organized with seats on the periphery of the room, next to glass window walls.

I was really excited to try this because I love pizza by the slice. They have a great selection of slices to choose from the display. Unfortunately I think when we went the slices had been sitting out for a while because they were dry when we got them. We got a cheese, hot honey pepperoni, little Italy and another I forgot the name. They were all dry and kind of bland, you can tell the cheese had been baked into the crust so it wasn't cheesy. There was no hint of hot honey, just pepperoni. We were pretty disappointed with the overall quality. Other people have said that the pizza you order to be made fresh is a lot better but it's expensive to want to try again. The service was good, although the staff should be brushed up on basic pizza ingredients. We asked the guy who brought our pizza to the table what kind of cheese was on the slice and he said it wasn't cheese, it was ricotta. Just small details of a pizzeria that I feel everyone should know if they're going to be serving the pizza. The place itself feels like a pizza joint which is cute and feels like a hole in the wall even though it isn't. I don't know, we probably won't try again but it seems to be doing well so I'm happy for that.

For a simple slice of pizza, Slice House is great! Both times we've visited, we've ordered and ate there. It's been very busy, but the line moves along quickly and our slices come out soon after. I've gotten pepperoni both times and it's been flavorful, hot, and fresh each time. My husband has ordered a couple different types and enjoyed them. So far we have not tried the pastas, whole pies, or any dishes other than the slices. I'd recommend visiting during non-peak hours since it's easier to find parking and a table around that time.

Heard about this place on Instagram and decided to check it out. When we showed up on a weeknight for dinner, the line was packed, but it moved pretty quickly. You can order either a whole pie or by the slice. We decided to order 4 slices so we could try a few different flavors since you pick them from the window display. The slices are huge. I love to eat and so does hubby, but even for us, 4 slices was a lot. I think 2 or maybe 3 slices would've been enough. We ended up taking the 4th slice to-go. One thing I thought was interesting, we wanted a pepperoni slice, and there was only 1 left in the display case. We asked if they would be putting out more pepperoni, hoping for a fresh slice, and the employee went to check and said it would be about 3 minutes. She explained that they're not allowed to ring up a slice unless it's already in the display case or about to come out, so she had to check and get the OK before ringing up the pepperoni slice for us. Since they just opened, service seemed a little mixed. Some of the staff were friendly, while others didn't seem as welcoming. The inside was also very packed, so I was keeping an eye on the tables waiting for one to open up. They do have plenty of outdoor seating, but it was pretty cold that day so we were hoping for an indoor table. Their zero sugar soda was unfortunately out of order, which was a bit frustrating because the soda machine is around the corner so you don't find out until after you already have paid for your cup. I even saw someone disappointed after realizing they couldn't get their zero drink and went up to tell the staff. Apparently they hadn't received the syrup yet. At that point I probably would've asked for a refund since the only other options were regular sugary sodas. It also looked like they had a container dispenser for iced tea or something similar, but that was empty too. To be fair though, they just opened, so they may still be working out the kinks. Parking was easy. It's located in the new apartment buildings, so it's kind of tucked in there.

Busy on a Wed at lunch but still ordered and got food in less than 5 minutes. Grabbed a table when someone got up. The slices were huge! One is definitely enough to fill you up but I had to try at least two, did pizza by the slice. Was bummed they only had hawaiian detroit style by the slice, will have to come back another day bc I am anti pineapple on pizza. Wiseguy NY style- 5/5 gigantic, crust was hot and crispy. All the sausages were good and flavorful Sicilian - 5/5 I think they only had the traditional, honestly the line just moved so fast I just picked what looked good. And it was, this was my favorite of the two, the dough was so chewy and the bottom was lightly fried from the oil. Cheese was perfectly melty and gooey. Only downside is the pepperonis turned into little cups of oil which is not the most appealing. Had to grab a togo box for my leftovers. Will definitely be coming back. Easy parking in the little lot behind the apartments or at the new parking structure downtown. Love the pizza box artwork on the walls.

Nice new bldg next to Breakfast Club ! We've been to x2 other east east bay locations a d this is no exception here in west dow town Livermore. Choices always. Tin chewy abd Detroit style almost Chicago thick crilust, seems like 3 styles which is great for.choosing and variety. Even mamas and Tony's infamous hand tossed cheese. Did you know ow the originator has won world not just SF North comps?? So cool. In our backyard. First 50 were able to...? Got a cap and was signed so free advertising...when we decide to elders it. I did go incognito.and no one knew I revised the following days. The new apt community makes out, except for.the ones Above it alike next door, food smells abound. Everyday. But that's just biz daily. Let's talk about the food then the decor. Pizza is pizza, but Slice House has more. Not just pizza by the slice, obviously whole. But have you ever had a Cannoli? Desert time in a shell don't let it fall out the other end. Crunchy on the outside sweetened cheese goodness on the inside. Can you imagine a pizza with what you want in it. ? Meatballs, they got them, best kept secret in the house ..3 for 7 bux. Take a slice to go, kinda crowded inside but plenty bleating around the back and more parking east of apt pkg. They warm it up in minutes and you're outta theirnbackntonwork.or play. The sauce is sweet side but quality tomatoes finish, never asked if it's San Marizanos. Always a go to for us depending where we are in the Bay! SF first location, North Beach Tough is seven days a week but they pull off well. Always fresh never see pizza slices put back out when waiting to open next day. We've always had consistency in taste for over a decade, that's why I am posting. Alot A LO T of comps outntyere but here seems like a home run for Livermorena d the Tri-Valley. Closest is down the hill in his hometown Valley in the Castro and up north to Walnut Creek mid downtown. Although wc is a bit tight they have ample seating outside here more seating LVK. Check out all the pics even on Rony himself of the Bay Area happenings and whatnot. May be back Thursday for a slice on the way home. Ciao, Bonne Apettito! Affordable btw

I am a huge fan of Tony's Napoletana in North Beach and Pyzanos back when it was in CV so I was excited for it to come to Livermore. The restaurant was crowded, but the line to order went fairly quick. We ordered 3 slices to dine in: the Motörhead, a white pie, and a meat one with hot honey. The Motörhead was a Detroit style thick fluffy pizza. Texture was good , but the parm edges and the pepperoni was super salty. The parts without pepperoni were ok. The white pie flavor was good. The reheated thin crust was very hard to chew. The meat with hot honey slice was ok too. The honey balanced the super salty pepperoni. Again, the reheated crust was pretty hard and difficult to chew. If I were to try this place again, I would probably order a whole pizza instead so that it's freshly cooked and hot. Another ding was when we picked up our dine in order, the worker shouted our number over our pizza. There were no seating available so we ate outside.

I heard this place was opening up so my husband and I had to stop by and try it out! We came on a Friday afternoon around 5 PM and unfortunately we had to wait about an hour for our order to come out. It was definitely really busy and not the staff member's fault so we just hung out and patiently waited for our order to come out. Even with all the chaos, the staff were very friendly! We will definitely be coming by again and maybe placing an order online next time.

For what it is, I'd say it's a once-in-a-while pizza option. It's pricey ($7/slice, $26/12" pizza). We got the Roma. We love the small pepperoni used on the pie. The NY style crust wasn't delicious. The overall flavor was bland, the cheese wasn't properly melted. We also tried an order of garlic bread. It was dry, over baked, and disappointing. We won't spend the money on that again.

Bob K.

My first slice house experience, and I'm psyched to try more here. The place is very new and clean so far. My order was simple, a cheese slice and a small drink. It's not cheap, but the slice was a good size, and with my current diet, it was all I needed for lunch. You can tell by my picture that the cheese makes it look very NY style, my favorite. (I love Chicago style too, but that's more casserole than pizza). It didn't take long for my name to be called. There was no place inside or out to sit, so I took it into my car. Should have gotten it to go in a box, oh well. I wonder if there's anyplace inside or out where they could install an SRO shelf to eat from? Anyway, besides being wide, the slice is somewhat thicker than a normal NY style, but that was just fine. It certainly wasn't doughy. There's a negative review here that refers to "burned pizza" and I wondered if they realize what the bottom of a NY style slice is supposed to look like? The good stuff is so rare around here. Well, this is the good stuff. I can't wait to try more.

Traditional deep dish
Randy R.

Tried slice house today and it was a treat,I can understand all the hype about it,good pizza, nice place, prices aren't bad for today's world. I had the traditional deep dish which was pepperoni and sausage and it was very tasty crust was good overall good choice. So nest time you're downtown give it a try!!!

She also made us feel taken cared of and was friendly/warm. The food is a mix of mexican/euro/american so there were a lot of different options. Here are the things we got: Appetizers - Parm crusted cauliflower: so good, nice and crunchy but not too heavily breaded. The chipotle mayo was delish - Chicharrones: so light and crispy! They were hot out of the fryer. It had a side of a corn cheese dip that was so good and made it more unique of a dish -- must try if you even kind of eat chicharrones. I don't generally like pork skin but I enjoyed it regardless. - Hamachi ceviche: this is a large sharing portion with chunks of hamachi and avocado. Good but not a must have. Entrees - Enchiladas: very cheesy and overall a good dish but I would skip this. - Shrimp tostadas: large size shrimp and it just comes with two tostadas so I don't think it was worth the price - Barramundi fillet: The fish was tender and juicy. I liked the marinades that came with it. I liked this dish with the rice because it made me feel homey. Good portion of fish. - Agua Chile Ribeye: This is a must have! The ribeye is sous vide so it was soo tender and juicy. The broth was really nice to keep everything moist and flavorful. The fish entrees are especially impressive. The salmon alone felt like it had to be close to half a pound. All of this comes at prices that feel more than fair for the quality and quantity you are getting. This is definitely a spot worth returning to. I am already looking forward to coming back to try the paninis for lunch.

I wouldn't rave about this restaurant but it's not bad either. It's just your plain Italian food…read more More like Olive Garden but more expensive. I would recommend the hostess that greets you to have a smile or be more pleasant. The food like I said was average. We each had appetizer and main course. Bread is free for first serving but $4.50 for more. Steep for cold bread. Salad was delicious but the bruschetta was horrible. Capellini was bland. We skipped desert. If you have nowhere else to go, okay to come here but I most likely won't return.

Well I've done it, I've managed to find the best restaurant in the South East Bay. Range Life…read moreshouldn't be in Livermore, it's elevated above it. The ambiance, and most importantly the food absolutely scream to be located on Washington St in Yountville where they could make a billion dollars. Menu changes daily, not usually posted on their website until around 3pm so check often and if you see something you like on said menu, book a reservation immediately as it fills up quick. Bar and inside dining are great, but the outdoor patio is the spot. Lovely in the sun and if it gets chilly they have heaters and blankets (nice touch with the blankets). Back to the food, it's phenomenal. Every dish well thought out with the freshest ingredients possible; elevated and executed to perfection. Pasta is perfectly al dente and has that "chew" everyone tries to get, but rarely pulls off and rarer still, as well as Range Life does it. Servers, bartenders and host make for a truly welcoming environment. A place you want to sit down; eat, drink and be merry. It's akin to being transported to a place that you'll never want to leave. To hell with Disneyland, when I win the Super Bowl, I'm coming here. I assure you if you haven't been yet, you'll be back time and time again. Consider yourself warned. If you have experienced it before then you know exactly what I'm talking about and no further explanation is needed. Enjoy Range Life while you have it residents of Livermore because at some point in the very near future the staff and restaurant should be taking their talents to a location befitting them.

Last night I went there for the 5th time. I've been there on dates and with big groups. Most of the time it has been amazing. This last meal, however, was flawless, and it inspired me to share today. First off, we did not have reservations on a Saturday night, and they were still able to get us 2 seats at the bar in 45 minutes, which was a relief. I was open to going to other downtown Livermore highlights such as Bourbon Pear or Il Campo, but was hoping on a whim we could get a seat at Range Life (which would typically require a reservation), since my date had not been there before. Once we got our seats, we were met with amazing service. At the moment I am not drinking, so I was wondering what kind of mocktails or non-alcoholic beers they had. Beforehand I was also wondering if they had a non-alcoholic aperitivo, since I know they have a lot of amaros and bitters. To my surprise, they did, so I had a non-alcoholic spritz, which was amazing. From there, we were only looking to get the highlighted entrées -- a black cod and a flat iron steak -- but we were also talked into getting one of their tartare/crudo options. We decided to go with the Amberjack crudo, which was absolutely amazing. It had mustard greens, fig leaf oil, and fresh early-season cherries, each ingredient something you were able to truly appreciate. The fig leaf oil, the fish, and the cherries were stunning, with the mustard greens providing a nice balance. From there we shared both the black cod and the grass fed flat iron steak. The flat iron steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful (despite being grassfed) that came with an amazing herb butter, mashed potatoes, and a porcini mushroom sauce that was absolutely to die for. The black cod was cooked to perfection as well -- tender, flaky, reminiscent of the butterfish I always have in Waikiki at Roy's. Accompanied by Iocopi English peas, bok choy, and turnips with dashi butter. The peas were, for what it's worth, probably the best peas I've ever had, and the vegetables were perfection. Light but amazing. The combination of both entrées was outstanding. Lastly, we had the famous Milk and Honey -- burnt honeycomb, olive oil, and malted milk ice cream. I've had it about 4 times now, and yet it was still surprisingly mind-blowing. I know something is truly amazing when I have to close my eyes and imagine the flavors bursting like a scene from the movie Ratatouille. I had to close my eyes to truly appreciate the crispy, sweet but slightly savory honeycomb, the fresh ice cream, and the olive oil for balance. The meal was absolutely flawless, and with the aperitivo, the Topo Chico, both entrées, and dessert, it came to $150 before tip. Honestly, it's a steal. I spent $300 at LB last weekend for a birthday dinner -- granted, I did get some A5 wagyu, an $80 14-ounce ribeye, a bunch of sides, and a couple of non-alcoholic drinks, which was amazing, but hardly a fair comparison. And if you go to the city or Oakland, you can easily spend $300-$500 on a meal, more if they have a Michelin star or two (or three). But for the quality you get, Range Life is an amazing deal. The fact that you can get this quality in Livermore is both convenient and remarkable.
