I had worked in this building during my college years when it was occupied by a different hardware store. From then to now, I am surprised over how similarly laid out the aisles are. I suppose not messing with a good thing is the way to go. This Ace is the only full hardware store in north Chico. It is close to the 99 freeway and is in a shopping center adjacent to two main roads. There is always a ton of parking and I can usually find a spot right at the front. As I'd mentioned earlier, the interior is laid out well. It's bright and airy with wide, well-stocked aisles. The occasional clearance finds in the front are a nice touch, and I love their barbecue items display. Came in here the other day looking for a particular item that their online app had advertised. The three associates whom had helped me were all very friendly and worked well together. Not only that, but the item was a part of the "red tag" sales agent they were holding, so I was able to purchase it at a discount of over 50%. What a nice surprise that was. I live in south Chico but prioritize this location as my hardware store because of the great service and selection. I will be back.

We walked directly to the counter and asked for the specific item. Instead of showing us where it was, the older white man simply leaned against the counter, hemming and hawing for a full minute about "well, you can TRY that, I guess... But... I don't think it'll work the way you want it to." We legit had to stand our ground and ask one of the younger employees to Just. Take. Us. To. That. Aisle. Please. If either of our husbands had walked in and asked for that product, they would've been led straight to it. Bro, just get outta the way and let the women work.

I was looking at key chains, while the key was being cut, & selected an S-Biner keyring. Sarah handed me a small bag, I put it in the same hand as the S-Biner & went to pay. I prefer to pay with cash & chose the self checkout. I scanned the key, put it in the bag, walked, almost out of the store & realized that aI had not scanned the keyring. I immediately went back. Sonny, immediately came to my assistance, I"I believe in Karma, I did not knowingly mean to not scan this, I need to pay for it." The scanner wasn't working for cash, because there were bills in the receptacle, the 11 dollars from my previous purchase...I previously picked up the change, but not the bills, from my $20.00 He gave me my change, it was an honest exchange! #Karma

She was fully present with that customer, helping that customer with blinds and offering a number of suggestions as to how her department could help bring the cost down of the project. She is a positive asset to Lowes!

I had to return a large fan, incorrectly purchased in the first place (wayyyyyy too big for the room/my fault).... I was afraid I wouldn't get it back in the box as it was originally. Bennie said "no problem, it doesn't need to be in the box - we can do it for you." Music to my ears. And then he helped me get it all from the car into the store, and with the most beautiful smile. Harbor Freight is so fortunate to have Bennie, and I'm grateful for Harbor Freight. I will definitely be back!

I've returned a few things like a bed frame for a twin bed (around $130, unused and box was unopened which made the return easier), and some reflective heat shields for insulation and weatherizing homes that I returned (around $50, unused so the return was easier). There were a few items I wanted to return but didn't or it was too late. A $20 soldering iron (just felt like I should eat the mistake on the $20 soldering iron instead of making Home Depot eat it) and a $99 camping rocking chair that I don't like (figured out I didn't like it after the return window closed). But all in all, Home Depot has great prices. They offer a Veteran's discount which is huge, because very few places offer that. And they have good products. And the return process is one of the best.

Absolutely Terrible! I special ordered a 7ft length of black painted 1 5/8" tubing for my metal…read morechain link gate. This tubing is supposed to support the large steel wheel which is attached to my 23' long driveway gate. The total amount for the metal tube was $26.14. I found that the company which makes the tubing decided that it's ok to use a thin wall tube for this weight bearing application causing a very sloppy and loose fit. Not acceptable unless you are a company that does not care about the products you sell. I attempted to return the tubing at Payless Building Supply in Chico, CA. They declined to return it or even give me store credit because the cashier said it was special ordered. I have spent well over $5000 at this store for materials in the last few years. Never again will I buy anything from Payless Building Supply in Chico, Ca. They do not stand behind their products. Absolutely Terrible!
