I live in an apartment, so I'm buying mostly basic things. I've made a few purchases of varying values, from $20-$150. I've returned a few things like a bed frame for a twin bed (around $130, unused and box was unopened which made the return easier), and some reflective heat shields for insulation and weatherizing homes that I returned (around $50, unused so the return was easier). There were a few items I wanted to return but didn't or it was too late. A $20 soldering iron (just felt like I should eat the mistake on the $20 soldering iron instead of making Home Depot eat it) and a $99 camping rocking chair that I don't like (figured out I didn't like it after the return window closed). But all in all, Home Depot has great prices. They offer a Veteran's discount which is huge, because very few places offer that. And they have good products. And the return process is one of the best. read more

As a vendor who works here, It is such a shame to work here and service the store, Every time I go to the section to the back to get my product, I always leave the store, feeling sick and feeling miserable and wanting to throw up, not only does this building smell like feces and urine, A HUGE EMPHASIS ON THE URINE! you walk by the Weedwhacker section or where there is pesticides you, Will and I MEAN YOU WILL, fill your lungs as if they are burning, your lungs are literally getting irritated by the smell of the store! The store should be charged for human health risks and safety and or investigated! How is this problem still persisting? Why isn't there anything being done about it? read more

The prices seem fair and the store is typically full of what I am looking for. I like being able to pull up the app and see if what I am needing is in stock and where in the store its at. I think its funny folks complain that they "do their research" and see that its available in the store then can not find it, Well when you pull an item up it has the isle that its on and a number got to the isle and that number and you should be in the ballpark. I rely on the app more so than anyone inside the store its avalible when I need it. read more

Not me but my son. Prior to visiting this location, he did his research. He needed a dresser and this location stated that it had it in stock. When he arrived, he asked an employee where he can find said item. The employee looked confused and kept telling my son where to find the bins. My son asked another employee to help him out. This employee says, "oh totes!" And proceeds to direct my son to where the totes are located. By this time, my son is very frustrated. He and I don't understand how the employees that WORK there, had no clue what a dresser is. Needless to say, he will be shopping at Lowe's from now on. read more

We purchased the shed kit, "Do-It-Yourself Princeton 10 ft. x 10 ft. Wood Storage Shed Building". We began with assembling the floor, then we began to get the lumber together to assemble the walls. Unfortunately, we discovered that 27 of the boards were twisted and bowed. We called Home Depot and they said to bring them in to get them replaced. When we went to customer service, the woman, Catherine, said to bring the boards in and then we could grab the exact same ones to swap. When we explained the kit's boards were cut to specific measurements, the woman told us that we would need to pay for each piece to be cut. We had to re-explain that the wood was pre-cut from the shed kit and the reason why we purchased a kit was to save time by not having to cut the wood ourselves or pay them for each cut. The woman then told us we had to bring the entire kit back. But we explained we already had it partially built. Reluctantly, Catherine then had some workers bring another kit out to swap out the individual pieces. Four workers opened another kit and watched us swap out the pieces. In the end, we're glad that they replaced all the boards. However, we would not recommend the product. We also didn't have the best experience with the customer service desk. read more

Prospective consumers: Consider every single option available before placing an order for a large item to be delivered. Home Depot currently contracts with NSD, a shipping company that is currently being investigated by the Better Business Bureau. The company will leave your order whether you are there or not, although this isn't what the order states will happen. Then, if the order is incorrect, you cannot, no matter what, speak to a human being, or get a response from NSD if you need to do a return. The Customer Service people at Home Depot are nice enough, but they are willfully ignorant about the sham shipping company. The local phone number is also directed to an 800 number, so you aren't speaking with the store when you call. Second bad experience. Fool me once....Please beware. read more

The absolute worst customer service. Ashley was beyond rude. I had a return with my Home Depot Credit card that was bought less then week ago. I had picture of my card and ID it told me I could not do without card. I asked to speak to mgr. She became very childish along with 4 other employees. When she thought I was recording and asked her name she finally got the mgr after 12 minutes. Mgr did it even though he acted like I was a inconvenience. I have spent thousands of dollars in the last few months with a new remodel home. My Poor grandmother bought an LG refrigerator for thousands of dollars. By the time it came up to temperature the freezer frosted it over. We have not been able to get any repair person out to fix it. Talked to Justin one of the managers here at Home Depot who let me know that they have a 48 hour return policy on their appliances. Yes that's right, it takes 24 hours for the refrigerator to get to temperature, at least 24 more hours to figure out if it works properly. And that's the cut off! Justin was like a bump on a log literally saying that he is hiding hiding behind the 48 hour policy. And asked me what I expected him to do about it. He did jack shit! So I blame Home Depot and I blame the human beings that run it! They also say they give military discounts and then put so many restrictions out there makes it nearly impossible or nonexistent. Lowe's does way better. And that was another thing, I said Lowe's doesn't have policies like that and he says well I don't know anything about Lowe's.! In my opinion, if you work at Home Depot you should know about Lowe's and if you work at Lowe's should know about Home Depot! Not all of their policies and procedures, obviously, but you should know your competition! I feel so helpless! They took thousands of dollars from my grandmother and now just sit around smiling in their store hiding behind a 48 hour bullshit return policy ! MF Not doing anything in the back at 6:30 in the evening ignores us the whole time standing there. I am giving Home Depot a good rating. However, Courtney in the plumbing department deserves five "great" stars. The length of 1"x24" black pipe was out of stock. I needed two of them. The last time I was at HD I did not have a good experience asking for pipe to be cut and threaded to length. Only one person in the store knew how the use the equipment and he was at lunch. Five different employees tried to help including a floor manager and nobody knew how to cut and thread pipe. Courtney asked if I needed help and I was reluctant to say yes. If you need any kind of assistance, or have any question of some sort regarding a product, there is literally no help or help offered even after asking. The young man stared at me, dumbfounded, like he had a no idea what I was asking! Went in last night to buy a Halloween decoration. I am an elderly lady, and it was virtually impossible for me to lift. This item by myself, asked him to put the item on a pushcart and help me get it to the register he brought the pushcart and walked away thank goodness for the other shopper there who was kind enough to lift the heavy box on the cart for me. Got to the registers that her self check out and the only one that takes cash was not working. Went to the courtesy desk to ask if I can pay there with cash. The lady rolled her eyes clearly hates her life, and her job and walked away. The item I was purchasing was $400. It's not like it was a little item. I walked out being completely frustrated! And ended up ordering the item online Home Depot needs to definitely teach their workers some skills in dealing with customers! Home Depot credit card. Other than get you signed up for a Home Depot credit cards BEWARE AND BE AWARE...once you have a card you cannot get any help in the store regarding their card. Nor was I able to reach a live person on any of the phone numbers on their statement. I recently made a purchase on October 4, 2022. At which time I applied and got a new Home Depot credit card. By about the 8 th of November I did not get a statement. I was at the store and ask about it they said sometimes there are glitches in the system. Some glitch....They charged me a late fee and interest before I even got the first statement! I tried to call both numbers on the statement but never could reach a live person. So again I went into the store only to learn that they have nothing to do with the card. I got the First Statement 11/15/2022 and now learn that on 11/04 they charged me a $29 late fee plus interest for a $33 purchase on 10/4. Then on 11/19, less that a week later I got the Second statement for 12/2022. I will of course cancel the card ASP! Edit: OK problem resolved I called the number and chose Something else and got a person. They were very helpful and removed the $29 fee right away. Thanks read more

So, The Home Depot used to have the advertising slogan "You can do it. We can help." Bullshit. Have you ever truly been helped by a Home Depot employee? I mean, it's either not their department or it is their department and they are on lunch or, and I have found this to be the more likely scenario, all the orange aprons find places to hide. I recently came in to order a color match of a quart of paint. I gave them the old can and asked them to match the formula (but downsized), brand and type but make it in the quart size. Well, two out of three ain't bad. Considering I was spending $12.00 for a quart of paint, you would think all three requirements would be met. I recently used Home Depot Chico internet site to check availability of parts. I noticed price on the site and compared it to Loews. Home Depot was less. I decided to go pick up parts but didn't pay attention to my receipt. When I arrived at home, I pulled out the receipt and was dumbfounded that the price was higher than the internet site. The price discrepancy on one part was alarming--$68 and change on the internet site and $76 as charged at Chico store. Same exact skew number!!! Although I have been shopping at Home Depot most of my adult life, it has left me with the sudden lack of trust. I thought about checking older receipts but to be fair they may have changed prices since my purchase. I don't know if it was human error or worse yet outright fraud. But $8 for a retiree one one part is crazy. Now I have to try to get my money back. They need to do a better job, Loews is just across the street. I bought an item in store to have my boyfriend pick up later. I could not use my coupon, they told me I had to be there to pick it up even though someone else said he could pick it up, and then when we came to get the order we had to wait an hour to get an item that was already paid for. This has been my go to place for a long time. Recently, I had issues with their Goodyear hoses. Bought 3, and within a month they all failed. Saved my receipts and when returning the final one I had one of the old receipts mixed up. The grumpy lady in returns says "No problem, I'll give you store credit." So I mentioned it was okay. She didn't bother to tell me that they were going to withhold a large portion of the money from the return. Meanwhile, I had another reason for going back to the store so I brought the correct receipt. The lady tells me she can do nothing and when the head manger came down she confirmed it. So I buy junk from the store, and when I return it without the correct receipt, they steal a portion of what I paid, and even when I return with the correct one, they refuse to honor their junk product return. Such horrible attitudes, between the grumpy "I'm going to lunch" counter lady, who would do better working in the back than with customers, or the store manager who would rather sell junk and steal part of the refund, rather than make good on such a small amount of money. Home Depot, Have you ever heard of Amazon, Costco, or Patagonia? I know you have, but you haven't studied their business models, based on my experience. Great companies with amazing customer service! To all who read this...Home Depot Employees GO THE EXTRA MILE FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS! Last night at 9 pm, I pulled into Home Depot, desperate for a 3 pronged 110 plug end...now this may not seem desperate to most, but my bi-polar son just had his main and only power to his trailer,(where he lives) go out due to a plug frying...anyway, without his power he would have been awake all night...its HOT here! I went to the door which had closed more than an hour earlier! Oh no! So the employee, a manager, or SHOULD be, REBECCA asked me what was wrong...i was ready to cry...i asked if there was ANY way she could help, and through the locked door explained my problem...i had money to pay for it, she called another employee, BILL, to look for the plug i needed...she explained that if she let me in it could cost her job! I didnt want that to happen! I asked if she was sure...When Bill got back with the plug, to the still locked door, they asked me to step back from the door, and with several personal there wayching. She GAVE me the plug! I was able to sleep knowing my son wasn't going to have a major melt down! I believe God's Hands orchestrated this whole thing, but my ETERNAL thanks and prayers always for BILL and REBECCA! You are the reason that from now on, I will be doing my hardware store shopping at HOME DEPOT in CHICO CA from now on! I am not very happy with my latest experience of Home Depot. I had bought a rayovac flashlight a couple months ago loved the flashlight spent a fair amount of money on this and the on off button decided not to work. I took it back wanting a replacement. The young guy helping me out was rude and was trying to tell me I did not buy it there. He then went to his computer and flat out lied to me telling me it was discontinued.Telling me I could not get a refund without a receipt! Well I wasn't planning on taking it back and if I had to save receipts for every little thing I bought would be ridiculous. I then went to another Home Depot they took it back no questions asked gave me one off the shelf and it was not marked down or discontinued as this kid said. VERY BAD customer service!!! Went to buy multiple high dollar items, yet could not get any help. The gal working in the AC area, made 2 phone calls and a customer service request for me from the main desk. Never saw any other person to offer help (wish I got her name). Went to pay for the one item my Mom picked up and there was only one cashier with a line, forcing people to use the self check out. Well if you are going to self check out, then lower your prices, because you are saving thousands of dollars by not having to pay employees, or hey you can give us the money every time we have to ring up our selves. Well I'm just going to lay it out straight and not hold back anything. I used to love the help I got everytime I needed it, the employees were there to help you when you needed it they were right there helping you out,But things have changed for the worse there. Now it's just the opposite getting anyone to help you out seems almost impossible to find help there, it's like they've cut the employee count in half or something, it's hard to get help and when you do get any help there they've got this attitude or a chip on there shoulders and they have an Attitude like it's a burden to ask any of them for any assistance at all! Then let's move on to the kitchen cabinet desk and getting help there. It's totally a joke getting help there, it takes forever running around till you find anyone to help you or get someone to call someone else to come help you. Then try ordering some kitchen cabinetry from there it's a total joke. First you don't get the help your looking to get, they want you to set an appointment up to get anything ordered. And it only gets worse from there. You get everything you wanted figured out and the employee says I've spent over an hour helping you out so I'm over the time limit so you'll have to come back to finish this order up. I'm thinking you've got to be joking wright? But no he's serious about it, so I return the next day and there's no one who can help me in that department so two days later I finally get helped again and get my order in and ordered. Well the employee says it usually takes about two weeks but since the Covid crap has happened it's taking a little longer so your looking around three weeks. That's doable so the three weeks come and go and they say any day it will be here, alrighty now it's been five weeks and I go in and talk with them and they tell me , I meant to call you and tell you that it's going to be four more weeks till your orders in. I'm blown away by that comment and say you've got to be kidding! Now that four weeks goes by and I'm back in looking to pick up my order and of course it's not in they tell me it should be here in a week at the most because it's in transit. So after another week they say I don't understand why it hasn't gotten here yet and he calls whomever and they say it's in Sacramento and it will be here on the next truckload, another week goes by and the employee tells me they didn't get any trucks in because they had inventory that week and he calls whomever again and he says oh it's in Tracy and will be here in two or three days we'll another week goes by and still nothing! (I'm mean come on Home Depot get you head out of the sand and get your shit together!) So they call whomever again and they tell me for sure it will be here by Monday! Well by now we've been waiting for our cabinet order to arrive for three months and a week! My order better be in tomorrow morning or Home Depot is going to lose not only my business but I'll make sure all my friends will be moving to Lowes from now on till Home Depot gets there shit together, this is unacceptable and come to find out one of my friends went to Lowes after going through the same crap and said forget this then ordered cabinets from Lowes and has already got them a week ago! Very disappointed with Home Depot ! I has just bought a new ductless Mini slpit HVAC from home depot towards the end of October. Picked up in Chico Store Nov.5th. Was to be installed Nov 9th. This was a $3,000 purchase. On Nov 8,2018 the whole town of Paradise burned down. Including my home & my brand new unit. I have visited the Chico store i have made calls to corporate office. No one will help me. For God sakes. With all the survivors benefits going on you think they would jump on the band wagon. It is a huge loss to so many of us and nearly everything in my garage or yard has come for your store. Everything on my home depot credit card is gone.
