Great place for buying seeds and for getting info on planting…read more The place is very small but they do a great job of keeping a great variety of seeds on hand. (Check out their website both for ordering online and for more information on the benefits of "sustainable" seeds.) They also sell home grown eggs; they even have a club you can join which guarantees you a certain number of eggs a month. I didn't get any of the eggs because we grow our own but from our conversation they clearly know chickens and eggs. They have great specials on seeds too; they have 99 varieties for $.99...so that is pretty cool. Also, talk to them about their grains. Most place don't carry grains but they have a great selection and can give you good advice on when and where to plant them and the best way to harvest them.

They have tons of really cute unique kitchen items, funny magnets, cool stuff for capcakes, and tons of really cute kid stuff like lunch boxes, kid friendly kitchen tools etc. They also have some beautiful stoneware, pots, pans etc. It is a really fun place to go if you love anything to do with the kitchen!! I also appreciate that this business, along with the Little Red Hen gift shop on 20th and the Little Red Hen Nursery are all geared towards teaching developmentally disabled adults job and life skills... it is inspiring to know that there are business and people in our community who believe a human can be a valuable part of the community whether they are "normal" (what is normal anyways???) or if they're rockin an extra chromosome or livin' life on the spectrum.

But I am kind of bed bound in a rehabilitation hospital. I have been this way since October 14 2025. The story is I have been a florist my self since the 80's. I also had 2 shops of my own. I was the first to be hired at Raley's here in Red Bluff..back then it was allowed to be run like a real flower shop, not like now where they do so much ready made, worked for them 17 years.Well I digress from main topic here. Anyway I grow succulents and design container and dish gardens. So I was tired of fresh flowers dying so I ordered myself a succulent arrangement. I was very disappointed and called the shop and complained. That was I thought end of story. Well later in afternoon when I was wheeled back from physical therapy I was surprised and delighted to see a very beautiful succulent garden that I love! The company had replaced my other arrangement, but left it too. I was so taken back and pleased also with a nice long note they were so gracious ! I have been there multiple times to pick up soil for my landscaping off my back yard. All my citrus, pomegranate, ornamental perennials, and raised bed veggies are super happy! My landscaping goes way back when I was once a pro organic gardener CSLB landscape contractor back in the 80's and 90s. The rates are reasonable too! I shall be back for more topdressing this Fall!

The store has so much good stuff too and we found this sonic rat/mice and other animal deterant. I was skeptical but we tried one and it actually works, but if you have lots of them once you move it they will come back so might need to get a few more and see if it will drive them far far away. I was so excited that they carry a lost coast product that is great for aphids, my squash and pumkins suffered last year and I tried so many things that I'm looking forward to using this on the garden this year!! Can't wait to go back and get a free gallon of compost tea! I forgot to ask the first time so I'm glad that we only had our truck and couldn't fit all the soil I wanted. They hoooed me up on some great products for pest control on my cannabis plants. Also the compost tea they sell kicks mega ass of you want to give your girls a good boost of love, which also helps to promote healthy complex microbes that aid in growth and fighting of disease and pests. They also deliver soil if you don't mind paying a little extra. The bad reviews about the soil is completely fabricated. Some people don't understand that regardless of the soil you buy you still will need to add fertilizer somewhere along the line of growing your garden. Gimme a break. Are people really that stupid.? I definitely recommend coming here and see for your self.
