Great little shop... HOWEVER... A girlfriend and I came in to buy a product for a fix we knew would work because we'd done it before. We walked directly to the counter and asked for the specific item. Instead of showing us where it was, the older white man simply leaned against the counter, hemming and hawing for a full minute about "well, you can TRY that, I guess... But... I don't think it'll work the way you want it to." We legit had to stand our ground and ask one of the younger employees to Just. Take. Us. To. That. Aisle. Please. Big selection for such a small spot. Super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Great pool supply department that's OPEN ON SUNDAY!! Was cleaning my pool filter today and it turns out I needed to replace a part...Mesina (sorry if I nuked the spelling) and Luke were a HUGE HELP! I went in for this piece(pictured). The employee asked what was wrong with the valve, I explained. He brought me to the appropriate spot and showed me the equivalent options. He suggested he might be able to fix it. Sure enough he did!! I appreciate the extra thought/time/experience- I could have very well just been handed a new valve and leave. We did also get their veggie starters earlier this year. Amazing prices and varieties. We ended up get 6 different type of tomato plants, Fresno chilis, habanero chilis, arugula, basil, rainbow chard, garlic chives. Thank you!! read more

Avoid with a capital A! True Value is new to this location, and frankly I'm baffled as to why they decided to take up shop in a location just a couple hundred feet from both an Ace and a Harbor Freight. While parking is ample, this interior is dark with poorly-installed laminate flooring. It's clean but you'll notice the aisles are on the tighter side. I was here the other weekend looking to purchase some Adirondack chairs for the porch of the home I just bought. I'll admit that I had been doing housework during the day and didn't look my best as a result: ripped jeans, baseball cap, Carhartt jacket. Apparently, my appearance was enough to make the manager/owner(?) (older Caucasian man) stand out front and monitor me. When I looked over and smiled, he looked away and walked back indoors. I was then greeted by salesman Tom and will say that he was the only positive component of my experience at this store. I'd have to assume that the manager called him out to make sure I wasn't stealing the chairs? Did he think I was some sort of vagrant? I know the area is riddled with a good amount of downtrodden folk, but never have I experienced this kind of surveillance ever before. Tom was friendly and jovial, and HE is deserving of five stars. The manager on the other hand? Time to retire. Heed my advice and go across the street to Ace where you'll find better prices, a better selection, and staff who don't look at you like you're trash. read more

But on the other hand the old lady I believe her name is Diane she is the old lady who works for bookkeeping and sits in the back doing nothing properly playing a crossword puzzle her attitude is so crappy one day I Aster do you ever smile and greet your customers and she said to me I'm just doing my job but you oughta smile and say good morning make your customers feel at home. if you're not happy coming to work and harassing all the employees and your customers Diane stay home we don't need that collect your Social Security benefits you're too old anyways to come to work probably. The store owner he's like a crybaby he doesn't care if you complain to him he doesn't listen . all he cares about protecting this old lady Diane and his pocketbook hopefully one day true value corporate franchise will suspend his franchise contract . I was so excited when this store opened, and my first experiences were great, staff attentive, knowledgeable, and with a good selection of items. However, both my husband and I have tried to shop there in the past few months. Even after mask requirements, they do not make customers or STAFF wear masks. I went in today, cashiers, with customers very close, all without masks. I walked in anyway, and the owner greeted me. More people without masks. I told him, "I can't stay here, there are too many people without masks.'' He said, 'well stay 6 feet away.' I deferred, reminding him that this virus is now aerosolized. Then a large (over 6'5'') male customer said 'don't you know it's a hoax, ' and started berating me. I'm 65, 5'2'' and I don't engage with crazy. NO ONE in the store tried to stop him, as I left. I will NOT be back. My husband had the same experience 2 months ago. He will NOT be back. Too bad, was hoping to support my local economy. read more
