For more than 15 years David McGinnis has been our pool service person. We find David to be…read moreknowledgeable, competent, and reliable. Not only does David do the magic of testing the chemistry and balancing the chemicals, he can repair pool pumps and filters. David has kept our pool sweep sweeping, has repaired railings, underwater electric lights, and modified stairs. David has an eye for what needs to be done, he gives you an idea of what you might need to be done in the future. He has dealt with the stain from the oak tree leaves and resurfaced the inside of the pool when it needed to be done. There are things I leave to the professionals, my car, my computer and...my pool. I don't want to be a chemist. I want to have a pool that is clean, safe, and sparkling, ready for the next swim or family get-together. No green hair here. And, David, thanks for the time you rescued that three legged frog who was stuck in the filter. All lives matter.

I don't know if the business changed hands and has new ownership, but it feels like it. The friendly, helpful pool guy we used to have was replaced by someone who's primary goal was, seemingly, to get in and out of there as quickly as possible. Corners were being cut and the level of service was falling, while the cost kept rising. Many times I wasn't sure that the guy had even come that week - there was no evidence of him having been there. I called the office about it and was told to call the service tech. I did and tried to have a conversation about what seemed to be happening. He immediately got very defensive and refused to speak to me. His boss got on the phone and started arguing with me about how they were actually doing the level of service they promised, despite the obvious reality. This animosity died down eventually and they continued to maintain our pool, and were actually doing a better job. The pool almost always looked pretty good despite the short weekly visits. The prices kept going up though, eventually reaching $160/mo for short, 10-minute weekly visits. They complained about the number of trees surrounding the pool but still managed to be in and out in under 15 minutes every time no matter what. Just this week we found a note on the door saying that Holiday Pools is breaking up with us as of the end of the month. No reason, just "call the owner if you have questions." I'm not going to bother. It's time for us to move on as well. Too bad... a great old Chico business slowly pricing and complaining itself out of existence.

I understand a short notice or "emergency" rate hike but you were seriously taking advantage and acting like I owed you. Having service for six months, I was extremely disappointed in the level of effort given to my pool. In the six months he was maintaining my pool, I was billed a thousand dollars to get my pool and spa healthy. His service was to include weekly filter inspections and scrubbing of algae. I was billed for "hyper-chlorination" treatments and other services that did not happen. Suspecting neglect, I had another pool service come out and check his work. They found my filters to be ruined from lack of cleaning, and the chlorine levels in the pool to be zero. His response was "I understand if you want to get service elsewhere". The only consistency I received from Murphy was a bill.

Problem was, I had absolutely no clue on what to buy, nor did I feel confident enough to maintain them on my own. I'm glad to have shopped at Leslie's rather than hire an outside company to do the job. This store is located in a newer shopping mall with ample parking. It's only about a mile from my home which is convenient. Walking in was daunting as I felt like a true amateur, but salesperson Morgan truly put my mind at ease. I let her know my situation and she steered me in the direction of a convenient all-in-one maintenance kit. Not only that, but she wrote down exactly which chemicals to apply, how much of each and when. Morgan made me feel valued and didn't dismiss me for my lack of knowledge which I really appreciated. She also informed me of their free app where I could tally up my purchases and earn coupons/discounts. You better believe I downloaded it right then and there! I've now had my hot tub for about two months and the water is still as crystal clear as day 1, thanks to Morgan's professional advice. I will be back whenever I'm in need of a refill!

It was really tight to get the bad one out and the new one in... They had a remarkable wheeled sled which they had to get past support beam and concrete steps with a low overhead. We're talking only one inch of clearance! It was a six person spa so it was heavy and awkward. They are true pros and they took the time to check everything and to make sure I knew how to run it properly.

Very disappointed with our experience with Native Pools and Cory. They serviced both our pool and…read moremy parent's pool next door for about a year. Early on, Cory pointed out issues with our system including the control panel and we spent money fixing and replacing the items he told us needed attention. We trusted that if there were additional ongoing issues, they would be clearly communicated to us. Unfortunately, that did not happen. Instead of calling us and handling things professionally, Cory chose to drop both accounts by text. In that same message, he admitted the pool had been a problem and acknowledged issues with the filters and pump, and said he had "given up." Because of the poor communication and lack of professionalism, our pool has now been left in poor condition and will require additional money to get it operational again.A pool is a major investment, and this was an unacceptable way to treat paying customers. We would not recommend Native Pools.
