This was the first visit to Skyline Chili. It was suggested by my team lead to visit during lunch. This was one of his favorite dining establishments in Kentucky. I had the 3-Way with the Extreme Habanero Cheese and sweet tea. It wasn't as spicy as I thought, but it was delicious. I loved it. The waitress provided excellent customer service. Very nice inside with modern decor, high ceilings and a fireplace. Clean inside and in a nice area of town. I love skyline chili but I've had better at other locations. For some reason they were stingy with the chili on the coneys. Server was nice enough to get us an extra bowl of chili since she agreed it was skimpy. All in all not bad and I still give 4 stars and maybe just an off night for the line cooks. read more

I got two deluxe Burritos and it tasted like a yucky paste - NOT the Sky Line chili taste at all . I won't be back as this is not the first time the taste of the food or even the sweet tea was not good. Mall Road is the best and will be my go to Sky line. So sad as it was really good about a year ago , not sure if it changed managers or what. read more

We just moved to the area and knew we had to try Cincinnati chili. I knew it would be sweet and but didn't know the original recipe had a Mediterranean descent! My kids loved it and they have lots of options on the kids menu. I got a four way with onions and my husband got a three way. It was delicious! I wasn't expecting to like it but did! Also I didn't know it would be sit down which was a pleasant surprise! The prices and portions were great. We will be back! read more

I would like to preface this review by saying that I am the least pickiest person on the planet. I will eat literally anything other than brussel sprouts. with that being said, the food served at Skyline Chilli was the worst food I have ever ate. The service was amazing. Love this place!! It is a Cincinnati classic, and I still remember when my dad took me there for the first time when I was nine years old. I live in Virginia now, and it's the first place I stop at when I drive home to see my parents. My favorite is a 3-way, which is spaghetti topped with Skyline chili and finely ground cheddar cheese. The chili is finely ground, slightly sweet, and delicious. The cheese melts into the chili, and I love the gooey-ness as I bite into a forkful of spaghetti, chili, and cheese. If you like beans and/or onions, order a 4-way or 5-way for those additional toppings. My dad's favorite is a cheese coney, which is a hotdog topped with the chili and cheddar cheese. I grew up with the original Price Hill location in the 1960s. Recipe has been changed for less fat but huge piles of cheese have been added. I'm not a fan of the smell of deep dried waffle fries. It makes the chili taste weird I normally like the Florence industrial rd location interior but due to Covid we order pickup. Tonight the noodles were way over cooked and soggy on a five way. Hope they don't do that again as it really messes up the dish. Otherwise this is usually the best one to eat in. read more

Ripoff. Two "burritos" that were the size of egg rolls, and a medium soft drink for $10?!

First time here in Kentucky and was told a lot about the chili and after talking to many people, I was told to just try this place. I ordered the spaghetti chili 5-way. I loved how the cheese came in a separate bag (I got it to go) and a huge bag at that. Everything just worked and I think the chili has a little curry taste almost. It definitely needed the onions and the hot sauce. I thought that the the spaghetti, beans and the crackers would put me in a carb overload coma, but it was all so good! read more

Worst service I've ever had at a Skyline. Drove my son through after his last baseball game to get his favorite meal. Asked for crackers and hot sauce and was told to pull my car around and wait for someone to bring my food out. When the food arrived 5-10 minutes later, I was told the crackers and hot sauce were in the brown bag. We got home 30 minutes after ordering our food and found no hot sauce and no crackers. I called and asked to speak to a manager. I told her what was missing and she asked if anything else was wrong with our order. No apology. She said that crackers and hot sauce don't automatically come with the food and it's something they give as "extra" even though she acknowledged that I specifically asked for it. She said I could drive back and she would give me the crackers and hot sauce (15 minute drive). When I told her it was too far, she said "if you're trying to get something for free, it's not going to happen". Missing crackers and hot sauce was certainly not the end of the world but I expected better customer service especially when you're paying $10 for spaghetti and chili. I was shocked at how I was treated when I called to voice my frustration. They refused to give me the GM's contact information so I guess this is the only way to get him/her the message. read more

Went here when were were in town and I was unsurprised. I heard reviews saying that the food was amazing and it is a Cincinnati staple. So I had to see I had to see for myself. I went with me and my family and I had an idea what to expect. Since it was my first time, the lady serving our table helped greatly on what to order. She recommended the Chilitos, and I ordered 2 of them, and I also ordered chili fries later on. The food came out quick (so did our drinks) and the food was amazing. I see why they keep their chili recipe secret, it was amazing! Can't have anyone running around with this recipe. The Chilito itself was really good, but my only complaint was probably the portion size; but that's a corporate issue and not a restaurant one. Walked in at 9:05 and was unaware the dining room closed at 9:00. Not a problem we got it to go and apologized that we didn't know it had closed. The problem was that an employee named Corey looked at his watch, huffed and then not so nicely informed us of the dining room situation. Well where do I even begin? When me and my comrade walked into this Skyline we did not realize our lives would be changed forever. Maddy greeted us with an abundance of warmth. Our server was Bailey and to say the least she was fantabulous!!! Anythingg we needed she went above and beyond!! Then when our food came I instantly asked who made it bc it was so delicious . Caroline, you did your thing !! Overall, this is the best Skyljne to have ever been built on the planet. Even though I didn't grow up eating Skyline that frequently, I am a Cincinnati native. So I guess it's just in my blood. I love their chili! My husband is from Houston. So he grew up with a completely different kind of chili. But he loves Skyline. It was a new experience, but one he enjoys and now totally embraces. He loves it either with a hot dog or on spaghetti. This skyline used to be so good. Every time we seem to go, stuff is made wrong. Went a few months ago and our whole order was wrong, they gave us $25 in certificates to use there. I've been hearing about skyline from my Cincinnati friends for years now. Perhaps they had me a little over excited for the famous spaghetti chili. I have even been making a copy recipe at home for over 10 years without having tried the original. To review my experience for two trips to this location. I ordered a 4-way with onions. Taste is ok. Chili flavor is a little more bland than the one I make. Definitely not nearly as fresh. Guaranteed trip to toilet after eating. Not healthy in the slightest there must be 300 calories of cheese per serving. 2 stars a little rough? Maybe a little but there are many other fast casual restaurants I'd prefer to eat at. read more

Cincinnati Style Chili, you love it or you hate it. Thing is, nearly everyone I've seen who hates it hates it because it's not chili the way they think of chili. Exactly- thus the distinction "Cincinnati Style". Sadly, those expecting a mouthful of Hormel have the same reaction as if they had gulped a mouthful of Guiness when they were expecting Coors Light- permanent psychological damage and permanent dislike of Skyline. This particular Skyline is as good as one gets- fast service, consistent consistency - rarely too wet or dry, a nice atmosphere with flat screen TVs all over the place. Just exactly what is that taste?? Coming from Detroit and loving coney dogs I had to try this place simply because I was outnumbered two to one. I heard from everyone around the area that this is the greatest must try restaurant. In Detroit we have coney island places on almost every corner. We have Greek restaurants that have coneys, Italian restaurants that have coneys. Every one of them uses the same chili from the same supplier and it is what I am used to. But please explain the cinnamony, nutmeg, cumin taste in the chili. I tried to hide the tase by putting in a ton of hot sauce, but that tasted worse. Sorry Florence, not my kind of place. read more

Skyline chili is watery, in fact it is served wirh a soup ladel so the bun absorbs what doesn't pour off the edges back into the pot- if you love soggy bread that is water soaked with flavor.. If you get it on spaghetti just ask for a second plate and you can pour a 1/2 cup of water off, for real! People debate about the cinnamon and what spices are used but personally I can't stand the buckets of water they add. Nobody else thinks twice about the bread-mush so it's just me folks read more

I just recently moved to Kentucky from Minnesota and I never even heard of this type of chili/spaghetti concoction but it's delicious! Another Cincinnati tradition. People seem to either love it or hate it. I prefer "the other Cincinnai-Style" chili place. Skyline is a little more spicy and the chili is a little more soupy. Order your 3-way "dry" and they will strain off some of the juice if you prefer it that way. read more

We just moved to Kentucky from Georgia. The atmosphere was alright minus the teenagers working there that messed the order up even after she said it back to me twice. If your from the south I recommend that you do not go unless you have a styled palate. The chili is made with chocolate, cloves, and cinnamon. The chocolate isn't the problem because I have eaten amazing entrees cooked with chocolate but the cloves and cinnamon make it unbearable. When I say unbearable I mean unbearable. The coney dogs resembled Vienna sausages and were the worst I have ever eaten. Worst $20 I have spent in a long time. read more

Tried Skyline Chili for the first time. Heard rave reviews about it. NOT a fan of cinnamon and nutmeg in my chili at all. If I want that I'll order an egg-nog. We stopped for lunch at lunchtime, and apparently many people are not a big fan of the taste of this chili since there was only one other patron having lunch. Not a good sign for Skyline. I ordered a bowl of the "loaded" chili, and what I got was a watery, lukewarm concoction of someone else's strange taste preference. My husband had a coney dog and the 5-way chili. His chili was lukewarm too, and his coney-dog was a joke. Anyone can grill a hotdog and throw some chili and cheese over it and slap it on a cheap bun...I mean, really? The waitress never returned to our table to ask how things were, until she saw we were finished. When she came over, she asked how it was and I told her...lukewarm and tasted so-so. She apologized and blamed it on the onions being cold when she put them in. The service was so-so as well. We won't be back anytime soon. I heard Gold Star chili is fab...so maybe we'll have some luck there. Can't be any worse than the Skyline! read more
