My wife and I with 2 grandkids stopped in 5/1/2026 around 5 pm for dinner. Took 15 minutes before a server came to table which was not clean. It was by large screen tv which was not on. Service was poor as food came out VERY slow, serve never came back to refill drinks or crackers, had to get check from counter as no server came to table. Couple hours later my granddaughter threw up her dinner. She was sick for 6 more hours as this was food poisoning- think it was the hotdogs. My wife and myself didn't feel very good after the meal also. We will NEVER return to this location again - we do skyline at least twice a month. read more

This location is dysfunctional. No one is pleasant or had a smile on their face. The guy making our coneys seemed to be bothered i was there. While making our to go order he dropped half of it and had to start over. If you hate your job that bad stay home! $32.60 for 12 Cheese Coneys to go, they could have at least been pleasant. My expectations going in were leveled. Coming from out of town, I wanted to try a taste of true Ohio food. The 3-way seemed to be the thing to try and according to the internet, Skyline Chili was the place to get it. Upon entering the restaurant, my expectations dropped from average to very low. The interior is like a diner that exerted minimal effort. The decor is simple and seating was not designed for optimal comfort. But it gets the job done. What more could I expect from a cheap establishment? I used the gender neutral bathroom while I was there and it definitely needed to be cleaned. It was apparent that a careless male had been in there at some point before me. The service was a little abrupt, though always accompanied by "thank you" and "you're welcome." The staff behind the counter were rambling on to each other adding to the somewhat undesirable ambiance. The food came out within minutes of us ordering. And to be honest, I was kind of impressed. I ordered a 5-way and it was really good! There's some spice in the chili (maybe cinnamon?) that makes it really unique and somewhat sweet. I wasn't sure if I liked it at first but as I devoured more and more, I decided that this place was pretty solid. Plus you can't beat the price! I could imagine coming here late at night after a few drinks or a long night out with friends. Absolute horrible - newer Blue Ash skyline on Plainfield. The old skyline was marginal but it got a pass because it was old. The food and service has not improved even with new equipment and staff. Drive through carry out. Two 3 ways. Portion was a significantly downsized regular 3 way with cold mushy noodles covered with cold congealed chili that was a thin layer that covered only about a fourth of the top. Could not have been more than three to four teaspoons of chili. The rest was just white spaghetti that must have sitting in water for a long time. Chili was clearly not fresh since it was a tiny amount of mostly hard chunks and it was not even a reasonable portion to cover the pure white spaghetti. Dinner time at 530 pm. Paid over $23. Talked to manager and received credit. He said he personally makes the chili daily, which is astounding that he thinks that is something to be proud of. We had been going to Blue Ash skyline for over 30 years. There is a good reason why the overall rating is now in the 2+ range. This franchise now has consistently poor quality food and service. The one in Oakley is consistently good so it must be the leadership/cook(s) in this location. The frozen and microwavable packages that come from the commissary are so much better. Blue Ash might have better quality if the manager just hired a teenager to microwave a package and serve it with a bag of cheese. The place doesn't even deserve a single star. read more

This review will cover a few things - this specific location of Skyline Chili, Skyline Chili in general, and the difference in my rating versus my family's rating. This location of Skyline Chili - 1-2 stars - This Skyline is a bit rundown. The shopping plaza it sits in is run down. My wife would say an old Skyline is nostalgic. I am not from Cincinnati, so "nostalgic" to me just means old and run down. If you're in the neighborhood and have an inkling for some Skyline, there's no reason to avoid this location and find one a few miles away, but I would not make it a destination Skyline. Skyline Chili in general - 3-4 stars. I don't particularly care for Cincinnati chili. I moved here as an adult and never acquired the taste for Cincinnati chili. That being said, the Skyline beans and rice is really good. My go-to is either a Beans and Rice Chilito (beans and rice plus cheese in a tortilla) or a Coney with beans and rice. The hot dog with the cheese and beans and rice is a nice combo. My family would give Skyline Chili 5 stars. My wife is a Cincinnatian, so I think Skyline chili may be in her blood. Two of my kids were born here (and the other one moved here young) so they love the chili. The usual go to orders for the family are: - Three (or now four) way - Spaghetti, Cincinnati chili and cheese (the 4th way is beans and rice on top). They are big fans and can eat this multiple times per week (we now live in Texas, so when we're in town, it still feels like a treat to have Skyline). - Buffalo chicken salad, no dressing - this is a good salad. It is my wife's go-to order, but I sometimes get to try it. The buffalo dressing is more than enough wetness to act as a salad dressing. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a fancy salad. Iceberg lettuce, some carrot strings. It's basic. But, given the lack of healthy options, it's not bad. read more

What I got: Liquid crap mixed with who knows what(i didn't get spaghetti in it, I think I saw sour cream in there) into a tortilla it wasn't folded right just slapped together into some foil. I was there on 7/20 for 4 veggie cheese sandwiches. I went through the drive thru. The wait was not too long. When I got my order, I didn't take time to look before I pulled off (my mistake) which I usually do just in case. I realized after the fact that two were made different than I requested. I had the spicy cheese placed on my portion of the order which I definitely didn't want. I did call up to the location and they offered to redo the order or give me a credit which I appreciated. I had the unpleasant experience of stopping here to grab dinner to go on the way home from my sons football practice today. As I entered I instantly questioned if I made the bad move. I could loudly here a kid not only disrespecting the female staff but complaining to everyone. He was making jokes such as tell your table it'll be two hours lol. The server said we need spaghetti and he there's spaghetti here. She said I can't feed that to my guests and proceeded to go make fresh spaghetti. Then he proceeds to make my four three ways. I'm like can I have fresh spaghetti too he rolls his eyes and says this spaghetti is not even that bad. He proceeds to make my food with the old spaghetti and argues with me. This guy obviously is someone no one can control as he walked past Mike the manager as he tried to correct him. However, Daysha I beleive she said her name is, faith and even Mike did everything they could to make it better. I've worked in the food industry for twenty years and I've never seen such disrespect to coworkers and customers. Last night I was craving french fries and it was between Skyline and McDonald's so I chose Skyline (easy in/out) and waited over 30 minutes in line. If you've never had Skyline and you live in the vicinity of one. You should be ashamed of yourself. The sweet nectar of life was created in their "special sauce" when making traditional Cincinnati style chili. An original 3 way (Hey oohhhhh!) comes with spaghetti, chili and cheese. Good lordy the cheese. Piled high and served with a side of oyster crackers. They also have a 4 way with onions or red beans or a 5 way with both. Every time I go, I overdo it. My Order: 1 small '4 Way' with onions 1 cheese coney with mustard (yes, chili comes on it too). The coney's are small, but with all the fixins they are filling. I asked our waitress what was the most anyone has ever eaten and she said "probably about 12 coneys." All I can say to that is, holy heartburn. I come to Cincinnati once a year for about 4-5 days and I eat it maybe daily...even at the wee hours and this location is open LATE! HOORAY! I debated going with one star. After ordering at 8pm on a Friday while they had 3 other tables it took 15 minutes to get our food served. While the waitress was decent enough to bring unsolicited crackers she could've apologized for the unusual wait compared to other Skylines. Their staff was bountiful. Nearly outnumbering the guests. The hotdogs were the same as gold star hotdogs. Maybe that's good to some people, just not us. The spaghetti was cooked too long and had a mushy consistency. We weren't offered refills or to go drinks. I wouldn't have minded the wait if the staff wouldn't have been standing around in pairs discussing their weekend plans. This is a nice looking skyline. Very new and modern although a bit industrial for comfort. No one asked how it was or I'd have politely told them. We were not thanked or greeted when coming or going. Their most popular dishes are a 3-Way or a Cheese Coney. The 3-Way is Chili, Spaghetti and Cheese. Where are the Cheese Coney is a hotdog, bun, chili and cheese. What I recommend is trying a Chili Cheese Sandwich. This is a bun, cheese, chili and cheese on top. So basically a cheese coney without the hotdog. If you don't like chili then there are always other options. As well if you are vegetarian, they have a chili for you as well! read more

They bring out some oyster crackers for you before your food arrives. This is a simple, but good starter with their hot sauce. I ordered a five way (spaghetti, chili, beans, onions, cheese) with a cheese coney, and I poured on the hot sauce. This is plenty of food for under $10. Some of the negative reviews here may not be wrong, but I enjoyed my first Skyline experience at this location. They also sell Andes mints at the front for 15 cents. Only had one bad experience before today but as I'm usually using my lunch break, I don't have time to go back and get mistakes fixed all the time.
