This place is amazing, particularly after a hike. I visited recently for the first time with a friend after we had spent a day on the hiking trails. We had worked up quite an appetite, and when she told me that we could get awesome hot dogs at a place that she knew of, I was instantly sold. It's a short drive from many of the trail heads, but you'll love the look of the rustic cabin with an expansive front porch that invites you to sit, located right off of the Bert T Combs Mountain Parkway. Inside, its high ceilings decorated with climbing equipment keep the rustic vibe, while music, a pool table, and several high top tables invite you to sit around for a spell. We both ordered the German hot dog (it had some clever name, but I was so hungry that I forgot to pay attention to it). Within a reasonable amount of time, they were delivered to our table. Maybe it was the appetite that we had worked up, but this totally hit the spot. Temperature, flavor, and texture were all just right. If we hadn't had to go on back home, we would have likely spent more time relaxing there. I'm already looking forward to my next trip to the Gorge so that I can try out something new from Sky Bridge Station menu! read more

There are very few places to eat on a Monday in Red River Gorge. This place was delicious. Highly recommend. They have a great beer selection. My husband loved the orange cream cider by country boy. What blew us out of the water with its yumminess was the loaded Hummus. It was soooooo good. It came with homemade crispy tortilla pieces, Hummus with Feta and a large portion of shredded seasoned chicken and peppers. It was sooooo good. If in the area check this place out. And they have a cute ice cream shop literally across the street called the Brick and was a perfect dessert. read more

I had never heard of this place a few weeks ago on Instagram. I was overwhelming surprised how nice the place was. All the food brought out looked great. I road the bike down , Wass looking for some A/C and something cold to drink. Some pretty local beer selections. One of the patrons said they had live music Friday night. read more

This is a great place for burgers and dogs. Very cool interior. Cabin type structure, large tables with cool water presentation at each table and big mouth jars so you have the ability to have water but not waste it! Super nice employees. Live music at certain times. Our family enjoyed the food and simplicity of the restaurant. The burger was served in a cool wood platter. Appeared to have a healthy beer selection. They also carry all the Ale 8 products. We will visit anytime we are in the area. read more

"The Culinary Abyss," a place where the hostess, a being seemingly existing in a liminal space between consciousness and a mild, yet pervasive, fog, greeted us with a glazed-over stare and a murmured, "Uh, table?" Thirty minutes, they promised, for sustenance; seventy-five minutes, we endured as the very fabric of time unraveled like the frayed edges of our pre-packaged, reheated nachos. When the plates arrived, they were hurled onto the table with the silent, resentful force of a thousand passive-aggressive sighs, no eye contact, just the dull thud of lukewarm, industrial-grade chicken. Pre-payment, a harbinger of doom, prompted a tip that reflected the sinking feeling of watching hope die slowly in a puddle of mystery sauce. And when I, in my naive optimism, dared to ask about the menu, the hostess responded with a look of profound, bewildered confusion as if I'd inquired about the mating rituals of a rare slug. read more

Stopped in here for lunch after hiking the rock bridge trail in red river gorge. This place is very close to the entrance of Daniel Boone National Forest. First impression walking in was that it is very cozy. Rustic cabin feel. Fireplace, dart boards, guitars and banjos hanging on the wall. They have live music on the weekends. Decent menu. Sandwiches, wraps, quesadillas and appetizers. We had barbecue pork nachos as an appetizer. Hands down the best I have had. The pork was very tender, melted cheese and the sauce was delicious. I had the chicken quesadilla for main course. It was solid. They also have around a dozen craft beers on tap. Mostly from west sixth brewery in Lexington. They serve them in mason jars as a nice touch. Overall a great experience. I would highly recommend after hiking a trail or passing through the area. Will definitely be a stop next time I am down there. read more

I had not been here in about 3 years until last month. It has only gotten better. The food is soooo good. I have not had anything that I have not loved. The craft beers are excellent as well. Beer Menu changes with the seasons. Atmosphere is so fun and laid back. That night was "Trivia" night so there ended up being a large crowd outside. But that made it even more fun. Highly and I do mean highly recommend this establishment!!! You read more

Definitely an awesome place and somewhere I would suggest for anyone to check out while in the area! Pulled up at 10:45am just kind of stumbled upon the place and they said they didn't open till 11 but we could go on in and start looking at the menu! The service was really good and I got the yeah burger with mayo pickles onion lettuce and tomato, could've used cheese and ketchup though! But it was one of the better beef burgers I've had in a very long time. A very thick and juicy patty on nice buns with some chips on the side! For the burger chips and a drink can't beat it for 10 bucks!! My father got the chili bowl and really liked that especially for the price, really good value. But wasn't too big on his Cole slaw! Nice people and cool little cabin looking deal that fits right in in the area! Looking forward to going back here sometime. read more

Sky Bridge Station is a watering hole near Red River Gorge. The bar offers local Kentucky brews on draft, served in Mason jars. The food here is standard bar fare, but they have vegetarian options (any burger or hot dog can be made vegetarian). We ordered a veggie hot dog and a chicken quesadilla. The food was fresh, tasty, and hit the spot after 11 miles of hiking. Sky Bridge also has outdoor tables and is dog friendly. The restaurant does have limited hours in some instances (not always open for lunch, so check website and social for hours before you go). I always look forward to coming here when I'm visiting the Gorge! read more

I'm sure I'd like the place better if it wasn't a Sunday and they had beer. As it was, you can get a greasy fried burger with some chips. It was OK. I ate it all. read more

The Food is great and on Thursdays they have trivia night! Loads of fun! Local Beers on tap!

Dining in the Red River Gorge area in October can be a challenge. We saw the sign and stopped in on a Monday evening. My friend had the quesadilla. He said it contained ample chicken, cheese, and had a little bit of heat. It was a nice size portion and he really enjoyed it. I had the basic hamburger. It was very large (3/4 lbs?), cooked to perfection, and quite tasty. The bun was good and the hamburger also had a nice thick slice of tomato. Prices were very reasonable. We will be going back tomorrow night! read more

Great atmosphere, fresh food, very clean. We got the epic journey burgers and my husband had the key lime cougar bait beer. Definitely recommend read more

Seriously, probably the best burger I've ever had...definitely in the top 3, at least. Coulda been because I was super hungry from hiking all day, but it was amazing, regardless. I had the slaw burger. I kinda want to go back and get it as the hotdog...might have to, before I leave town. read more

Great place to enjoy a beer, grab a bite to eat and hang with friendly people. My wife and I bellied up at the bar after hiking all day. The place was filled with people who just completed a 50k (or 25K) through the gorge. We walked/hiked through the place all day - and can't imagine how these cats ran through it for a much longer distance. That's nuts. Great selection of brews on tap ($5.50 IPA's) served in mason jars. Staff was very attentive - but we weren't in a hurry. Ordered some chips/salsa ($4) to start out....pretty standard. My bride went with the grazer quesadilla and I went with the Aztec quesadilla ($10 each) - both were fine. We went to pay....and they don't keep a check/tab. It's all on your honor. Who does that anymore? Seemed very cool.....but if you have one too many drinks I'm thinking people don't remember how many beers they had :) Next time we are in Red River area - we will be back! read more

I had the city slicker dog and the steakhouse dog. Steakhouse dog was excellent. The city slicker had too many sour vinegar based ingredients together and I ended up wishing I'd got the slaw dog instead. I stopped here on a Saturday night after hiking all day due to the Google reviews. We were starving and just wanted a good meal before a 3 hour drive home. When we pulled up the place is extremely nice. The staff is very friendly and that's the only reason I gave them any stars. We ordered a couple burgers and a quesadilla. Have to say I love food and this was no where near impressive. The burgers here come with ruffles. That's okay they come with chips but I would suggest making chips in house at least. These burgers are also $15. Maybe it's the cook or the business but anyone who says these burgers are amazing needs to have their taste buds checked. The best part of the burger was the jalapeños. The burger had no seasoning. This was bland and a huge let down. The quesadilla was okay but the shredded chicken tastes like it comes from a can. No I won't recommend this place and I will not be back. Not impressed. read more

Great dogs and burgers. Great beer. Cool vibe. The quesadillas were good too. Everyone in our party was happy, even the picky eaters.

We tried to go twice to eat here. I had checked them out online and was excited. We first tried after our hiking in mid afternoon. They have not updated their hours on Yelp to what they are on Instagram so we went home to our leftovers and napped and showered to make a return trip for dinner. When we entered we were told they were out of chicken. Eighty percent of their menu was chicken. We ordered second choices, got a number, and our beers and waited. And waited. And waited. Noticed the people who ordered in front of us were just about finished with their food, so we asked for a refund. They gave us cash based on my husband's guesstimate, without even researching it. Hate that we didn't get to try this place out properly. Maybe next visit. read more

Stopped in on a sweltering July (2019) afternoon with 6 friends. Terrific beer selection and plenty of space to hang out, throw some darts, and chat with the other patrons and employees. The shared chicken nachos were ok. Fast service and nice amenities for the hiking / climbing crowd (like water dishes outside for dogs, a porch swing, etc.). Place has a cool vibe. We regret not coming back that evening for string music (that our server mentioned happens nearly every night.) Great work, SBS! read more

I was a bit nervous about trying this place being it like a local hangout. But let me tell you it was worth. The people that work there were extremely friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The food was great, we got nachos as an appetizer and we ate so much of it that we barely had room for food. The nachos were by far the best nachos I ever had. I can't remember which ones we got but it seemed to have everything in them and it was delicious! read more

The only Option and its amazing, we loved the food, People and Ambience. this has a climbers hideout kind off feel. that's an amazing vibe. They have decent menu for the location, this was quite a surprise. They have Veggie Hot Dogs, (average tasting dog). Hummus and tortilla - Uniquely roasted chip style crispy tortilla, was good. The grazer was fresh and tasted really good. The staff is friendly and helpful. The facility is nice, old tavern look with games and some entertainment. they have dart board, jenga, etc. its a fun environment. so this is a must visit place. read more

Fun place with a cool atmosphere. We went on a Tuesday night and they were having a trivia contest. It also looked like it was someone's birthday celebration. The food was good. I got Zee German hot dog and I'd highly recommend. My husband got a burger and he said it was decent. They have a good selection of local beers and some good looking quesadillas. Would definitely go back. read more

Stumbled upon this place on our way to see Chimney Top Rock. Turns out it is NOT the Chimney Rock from Oregon Trail, but this place made the trip worthwhile. We got The Epic Journey, The Slaw Dog and the Chipotle Quesadilla. All three completely to-die-for. The beers on tap are surprisingly good, and the atmosphere is unparalleled to something you'd find in a tourist camping/hiking/climbing town. No cheesy old-timey business here. This is much more like a Fort Collins, Portland, or Utah hang. It's apparent the owner/employees aren't locals and if they are, they clearly left for a bit and came back. Bravo for keeping the log cabin, Kentucky feel without the Midwest mindset. read more

This place is exceptional. The staff were great, super friendly & incredibly clean, if it was touched, it was immediately disinfected. They had great craft beer, I had a greasy draft West 6 Coco Porter from Lexington, Ky. They had a list of hamburger/hotdog choices that gave the same options for each; my Zee Burger could have been a Zee Hotdog at a cheaper price. I had the burger because the grass fed beef was sourced a mile down the road & I was thoroughly rewarded with what may have been the best burger I've ever had. Next time, I'm getting a simple hamburger because the beef made it. I had a bowl of chili because, the beef, & it was divine. My friend had a bacon, egg, lettuce & tomato sandwich with a side of cold slaw & loved them both. Another friend had a huge burrito that impressed & her friend had a quesadilla which he was enthusiastic about. Yes, they have plenty of vegetarian options too. Everything about this experience was excellent. It's just an exit away from Natural Bridge State Park in the midstream the beautiful Red River Gorge so if you find yourself in the area, you really should stop in & give yourself a treat! read more

This is a great place to stop before or after hiking in the red river gorge area. The menu is simple -- mainly an assortment of gourmet quesadillas and hot dogs -- but the food was really good. I ordered the chipotle chicken quesadilla and was surprised by the large amount of chicken on it. They really didn't skimp out on it! Most dishes range from $5 to $6.50, and they are quite filling. They also have an assortment of local beers on drafts to choose from. The service was friendly, and the food came out quick. There's a place to play darts inside. Additionally, the place offers rock climbing classes and you can buy your overnight passes for the national park here. read more
