Country boy double decker Comes with tomato Puckett cole slaw cheese
David S.

Visited on a Friday night and ordered the cowboy burger box. It comes with slaw and fries. The wigwam has limited seating (around 35 seats) so it's always full. They quickly greet you and take your order. It's s small kitchen so it takes a while to get your food. But it's worth it. The slaw is awesome.

BLT Club with fries !

I have been following for a while on Facebook admiring all their food pictures. I stopped in and ordered the BLT box with fries and coleslaw and it was better than I expected. Hot and fresh and what you expect and it was great. The price was great also, my wife and I both ate for 12 bucks!!

Okay, agreed this is not the best or fanciest place, but is an iconic restaurant. Been slinging hash since the late 50's. Basically a part of Irvine/Ravenna history. Atmosphere was great, all the patrons were chatting back and forth just like one big happy family. One elderly gentleman even shared that he doesn't cook, comes to the Wigwam for meals for years. I had the cheeseburger, cooked very well, I hate places that think you have to smash the meat of every last drop of juice. Yuck it's like eating cardboard. Thanks Wigwam for doing it right. I was disappointed though with the onion rings, a little under cooked and the Coleslaw was warm. Tasted ok, but scared me just a little. After all it's mayonnaise. However, if you haven't been there you have to still go. If you have been, go back. I love small, out-of-the-way joints.

The burgers are great! Prices and service are very good. Can't go wrong here if you like old diners. I highly recommend.

Back Street Grub - Outside

Today we drove to Irvine and had lunch at Backstreet Grub. It was hard to decide what to get from…read morethe menu, but we started with their fried banana Perrier appetizer. These are cut into rings , then battered and deep fried and served with ranch dressing. Probably some of the best banana pepper rings I have had in a very long time! Looking around I saw others who had ordered the burger (which looked really good) and another person had a very fresh looking salad. Others had the fish dinner, and we both decided on the fish sandwich for our lunch. You can choose from either battered or breaded whitefish. So, we ordered one of each! The sandwich came with crinkle cut french fries. There were other options that could be substituted for the fries. Also came with 2 hush puppies. The sandwiches were huge! Probably 12" long with a generous piece of fish on a fresh bun. Came with lettuce, onion, pickle, and a ripe slices of red tomato. The fish was cooked perfectly and was very flavorful. The breaded fish may have been a little heavy on black pepper, but not overbearing. If I was super picky, the bun would have been better if it were slightly toasted on the grill, but that's just a personal preference. One thing it was missing was tartar sauce (and you know me--some hot sauce). But overall, this was a very delicious sandwich and others said the same thing we did when they sat the sandwiches on our table. In unison, we all said, "Oh Wow!" It was a good thing that I was very hungry, because I was somehow able to eat it all, but next time, we will order one sandwich, cut it in half, and order an extra side of extra crispy french fries. Next door is The Hippie Hut where (if you have room) can stop by and get a delicious shaved ice or hand dipped ice cream. I fully recommend Backstreet Grub and we will be back real soon!
