A RRG staple, a beacon after a long day on the trail. The yellow building is a sight for sore eyes. The pizza always hits on top of a beer to wash it down, you can't go wrong. I took my girlfriend there for her first time - a gym rat that never eats pizza - and she put 3 slices down without realizing it. A must if you're in RRG.
Private parking. Restroom for customers. They have craft beers and wine sold by the bottle. Build your own pasta bowls. Build your own pizza. Merchandise for sale seating inside and outside and there's also a campsite behind the restaurant. I do not know who owns the campground, it's conveniently located behind the restaurant and the restaurant is conveniently located less than 2 miles from national bridges State Park. Great pizza, flavorful has a distinct taste. We had the supreme. Pasta bowl with hamburger and meatballs (meatballs were delicious) cheese and there was marina sauce lightly over the top (not throughout).
Really impressed. I'm 62 and have had a million pizzas by now. Best GF DF meat lovers pizza east of the Mississippi. Huge pieces of meat on top. Bacon, ham, etc-- if this is the same as what they use in their breakfast, no wonder people like the breakfasts here too. if I had to fault anything, it's having to wait patiently for the pizza to bake. From ordering, to receiving the pizza, was about 30 minutes in length. This was around 2:30 in the afternoon, on a Thursday, and while, they were doing a good business volume, it was not full or overflowing or having any wait lines. The gluten-free crust was really good. It comes in the Personal pizza size, I believe it was 10 inches. RE Dairy free, their vegan cheese was superb, I'm wondering what brand they use because I'd like to buy it for my home kitchen. MUST return!

We decided to venture over to Miguel's Pizza and see what offerings they had in store. Miguel's Pizza, a favorite among hikers and climbers, offers a variety of options, including healthy choices, and has a casual, rustic atmosphere in a historic building, with both indoor and outdoor seating. You can order pizza by the slice to mix and match, or order it whole. We ordered two slices of pepperoni. The crust was thin and crispy, but still had some good chew. However, it lacked flavor and was slightly dry. The crust reminds me of a frozen, pre-made crust. The sauce was thin, slightly sweet, but lacked flavor beyond the sweetness, and the slice could have used more sauce to help bite into the crust. The cheese was light on the pizza and lacked any pull, almost as if it were from a bag at the store. The pepperoni was thin and cut into different sizes, with an adequate amount on each slice and a nice amount of grease, heat, and chew. This was enjoyable on the pizza. We also ordered a couple of Margherita slices. The crust again had a good crunch but lacked flavor. There was a nice toast on the bottom. The cheese, as before, was light on the pizza, which is fine, but no pull again. The sauce was maybe a little lighter on these slices and lacked much flavor. The tomato and basil were fresh, but there wasn't much of either on the slices, leaving the pizza bare and us wanting more toppings. Miguel's menu offers several pizza options they specialize in, a build-your-own option, and salads, pasta, soups, and sandwiches, with options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They also offer beer and wine options with soft drinks. The Fat Man says that Miguel's Pizza is NOT Fat Man Approved.
First time visit here after I heard a lot about it. I was able to finally visit here on Friday afternoon. It is very quiet since it is cold and snowy on the ground. We entered and there is ton of choice. I ended up got Pork BBQ pizza for 4 slices and it is huge. My friend got meat pizza, 2 slices. My friend enjoy it and I enjoyed it too. We both had beers as well. The pizza was good and served hot. The service was nice and vibe is wonderful. This is ideal to stop by after the hiking.

It's best to read a few reviews & combine the info. When you walk in it can seem overwhelming but people line up/around the area you order. There were several people taking orders & you just go up when you're ready if others are around looking/discussing what to order. You might feel rushed but take your time lol There are seats in the first room where you order, some in the back room of that & they also have a big basement (you go outside & around to access that) so don't let the first space fool you. They have a ton of outside seating too. On to the food. We all got a side salad that was fresh & a big portion. They give a small dressing so I'd ask for extra. My husband & father in law got the meat lovers 4 slices to split. They were your normal size. My 2 slices of bbq pork/sweet potato pizza were huge! And delicious! Glad we stopped in & can't wait to come back again in the spring/cooler summer months.

We decided to place an online order for our convenience. We decided to order two pizzas because we couldn't figure out by their reviews. After we received our pizzas, we quickly discovered that their pizzas are extra large. So I'd recommend that one large pizza is more than enough for 3 adults. A few things we didn't enjoy about the pizza, was it wasn't thin crusted and it was very greasy.
In the area, there are not a lot of options for food. However, everyone agrees this is a must stop. The pizza was very good, but a little bit on the pricer of your side. They did have a lot of options for toppings which we appreciated. The big stand out for us was the ranch dressing. It was very unique and some of the best ranch we've ever had. We were staying at an Airbnb and took our pizza to go, which was a good move since it's made to order and was piping hot. If we find ourselves hiking in the area again, we will absolutely stop and grab pizza here.
Miguel's is a national (or at least a state) treasure hands down. With a relaxed and community oriented atmosphere, it's the perfect stop if you are hungry and anywhere near the gorge. The pizza is fantastic and the service is always friendly. You may have to wait in line to order a bit because it's insanely popular.
It was our first time at the Gorge and we had to stop at the iconic Miguel's Pizza! There's a large gravel parking lot off the main road - every time we drove past it was mostly full. We went for an early dinner on a Saturday night, and the parking lot was about 75% full. When you walk up, there is a large area with large picnic tables. If you walk past the first area it leads down to a larger courtyard with a basketball court, more picnic tables, and a huge camping area. You order at the counter in the main building - they have semi traditional pizzas with a twist. They come in three sizes - 2 slices, 4 slices (half pizza) and whole pizza. Everything is reasonably priced. We order two slices of cheese and pepperoni and a whole BBQ chicken pizza. The wait was about 25 minutes, which wasn't bad with the amount of people at the restaurant. The kids took off and played basketball, foosball and other yard games while we waited. The food arrived pretty fast, and the kids gobbled up the cheese and pepperoni slices. The BBQ chicken was good but a little different - there were big slices of green pepper and some cilantro throughout. Not a lot of BBQ but we managed to eat the entire thing! It was the perfect dinner after a weekend of camping - kids were entertained and the food hit the spot! We only took one picture of a lonely slice but everyone devoured it so quickly. We'll be back!

If you want to talk about an outdoorsy, "on another planet" vibe... this is it. Want to eat outside? Go for it Inside? you can do that too! Want to pet a strangers dog and talk about cool rock formations? YOU'RE IN LUCK! THIS IS THE PLACE. Don't fit in with any groups in life? No need to fret... you'll find someone to connect with here. Is it weird? Absolutely... but that's the most charming part. Then we get to the pizza! It's banging! Is it really THAT good, or is it just because there's not many choices around and I'm starving from being a wilderness adventurer? WHO KNOWS AND WHO CARES!? The pizza is the best for some unknown reason. and I'm here for it! Lastly... bathrooms are kinda gross... but so is EVERYONE in that restaurant from walking trails and climbing rocks for 8 hours. Stopped here for lunch while traveling thru. Place was a beehive and the parking lot was slammed up. Ordered inside and waited outside in the sun. Took a little longer than we would have liked for two slices but upon receiving our order it was obvious the pizza was freshly made. Overall it was good - nice underbelly crust and good toppings. Went to this beloved pizza place and it was okay. You wait in line to order and then your pizza is brought out to you. It took about 20 minutes to get our pizza. Pepperoni was very greasy. Sausage was good. Parking was challenging. It was just okay pizza. read more

Had heard a lot about this place so my wife and I decide to take the drive to the Gorge and see what it's all about. Once we parked you could smell the aroma from the pizza. The atmosphere was very natural and a great fit with the location. We waited in line about 5 minutes to place our order. Once we ordered we sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful day and scenery. Pizza arrived about 30 minutes later (place was packed) hot and piled high with toppings. Pizza was very good and we loved eating outdoors at the picnic tables. Perfect hot pizza after hiking. They have an expansive menu and create your own options as well as multiple size options. This is perfect for family and friends with varying tastes. They are pretty quick for how busy it gets. There is limited parking during busier times. There is also indoor and outdoor seating, bathrooms and basketball. read more
Came here in November 2024 for dinner and ordered pizza. Wow, the quality of the pizza was mindblowing. It was well made, fresh, and delicious. Quite impressed by it considering it was in KY. This is definitely one of the goto places for food. It didn't take long time for the food to come out. Quite happy about it In addition to the restaurant this place is also a campsite, it has basketball court, volleyball court, and has equipment shop. Damn i can say that this place is well prepared and definitely worth coming whether to satiate yourself or in case of emergency that you forgot an important piece of equipment at home, or other necessities : ) read more

If you're visiting RRG, or even just driving through, Miguel's is a must. Their pizza is....okay, let me just be honest and say that their pizza is mediocre at BEST. But the real Miguel's fans know that their breakfast menu is where it's at. They also offer laundry services, showers (5 minutes for $2), and some other amenities. Can't wait to come back next month! read more

Miguel's Pizza is famous and iconic for a reason! It seems like everyone visiting Red River Gorge is told to stop here and after visiting, I can see why! I came by for dinner to carb-load before a backpacking trip, and their customizable pasta bowls were perfect. Of course, the pizza is the real star: I tried the BBQ Chicken, BBQ Pork, and Hawaiian slices. The BBQ Chicken might be my favorite, but honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them. Prices are reasonable - about $6 for two slices, or around $10 after tax. Four slices is basically half a pizza! The atmosphere is fun and casual, with WiFi available and lots of interesting art pieces around. You'll also find their colorful and funky shirts for sale, though a little pricey ($17 for a basic short sleeve, $25 for tie-dye, $29 for a long sleeve). The shirts run small, so you might want to size up. There's a large gravel parking lot available, but it can be hard to see in the dark, so be careful pulling in! The lines can get long, but I thought they moved pretty quickly. Overall, a must-stop spot if you're anywhere near Red River Gorge! read more

Stopped by Miguel's Pizza while visiting Red River Gorge and really enjoyed it! I tried one of the bowls, it was super filling, though it looked and felt a bit more like a pasta dish. Still, it was tasty and satisfying after a day of exploring. We also had pizza, and it was delicious! The crust was perfectly crunchy and had great flavor. It's a fun, laidback spot with good food and an awesome vibe, definitely worth a visit if you're in the area! read more
I had heard legends of Miguel's Pizza. A MUST-VISIT if you're visiting Red River Gorge. But I did not truly understand the allure. Now I do! We stopped here last weekend, and I am now a believer. The line was outside the door when we arrived around 4 p.m. on a Saturday, but it moved fast. And the biggest thing it seems to know about Miguel's is the selection. You can choose what you want from their overflowing list of toppings. Pineapple? A personal fave! Chorizo? Delicious. Anchovies? Gross but sure. Hummus? Why not! Rice? Spiral pasta? Go for it! I didn't go quite that out there, but I did get a slice (which is really two big slices) with barbecue pork and sweet potato. And it was glorious! The crust is just perfection. This was the warm slice of comfort I needed on this early fall day. My friends and I found a picnic table in Miguel's large outdoor area, and our slices were soon brought to us. I also liked their beer list and the fact that they also had an outdoor bar for when you're standing in line or eating outside. Miguel's also has camping, so you'll get a mix of outdoorsy and glamping folks while eating here. Loved my time at the Gorge. Plan to make it an annual thing, and Miguel's will be on that list as well! read more

I was hesitant to go here but my buddy really wanted to come here (due to the raving reviews). I read a recurring theme of rubbery cheese, overly greasy, bad crust, etc. We went on a Thursday at 6:30 p.m. We were one of only a handful of diners when we arrived. We each ordered a pizza and it arrived in ~ 17 minutes. My salad took 30 minutes to arrive so I took it with me after eating. The ingredients seemed fresh and contrary to what others stated, it wasn't overly greasy. In fact, I would say it had less grease than most pizzas. The first few slices were pretty good. As we continued to dine, the cheese did harden, perhaps sooner than I ever experienced and towards the end of the slice, the cheese and toppings would slide off the crust, leaving a tomato sauce covered crust. Speaking of the crust, it wasn't overcooked. In fact, it was undercooked. There were spots where the dough wasn't cooked through. The staff were friendly and pleasant. We dined inside and there were a couple of flies that I had to swat away a handful of times but not as bad as I had feared (from the reviews). The pizza is $12 for cheese only and $2 per topping which is reasonable. The size isn't listed but I would guess it to be 16" (maybe slightly smaller but it seemed bigger than a 14"). The taste was a little on the bland side. I grew up in Chicago so I know what a good pizza should taste like. Having said that, I would give the pizza 6.5/10, staff 9/10, ambiance 5/10. It's decent pizza, decent price. Also, the craft beer was cold and tasty. read more

Perfect stop after a hot hike. We already had cokes in our cooler and were able to drink those outside in their picnic area. We had a large Italian pizza. It was good flavor however I could of done without the noodles as a topping. We also got a half pepperoni for the kids and it was perfect size for two kids. The topping tend to slide off but with a fork we didn't mind. You order inside and then find seating inside or out. Server brings food out to your table. Now we can say we've been to the famous Miguel's! read more

This has been on our bucket list since we started climbing! We finally made the trip down to RRG and HAD to stop at "climber central" big parking lot, and right in the middle of it is a big tree draped in hundreds of shoes! Such a cool concept, kinda gives off an eerie feeling. We threw a pair of our old shoes to add to the collection. We entered Miguel's pizza and there are a bunch of the infamous shirts and hoodies, and the cashier informed us that there were even more out in the gear shop! We grabbed a large pizza which and two of their bottled sodas. Pizza was made to order, of course. Pretty reasonable price ($27 for everything) and it was yummy! Seating indoors and outdoors under the pavilion and even more if you walk down the patio. Camp site and lodging area is nearby and the gear shop is the white building before the big blue one. We went because it's a local institution. There is so much seating that's it's deceptive how long the wait will be. We ordered two whole pizzas which took a very long time to arrive in a Saturday for lunch. Food was good, beer was cold. I don't know that we would choose it again over some other options in the area but am glad we tried it and can say we've been there. read more

How much does the pizza and salads cost?
I was just there a few weeks ago. I got three pizzas (one just cheese and two with several toppings) and a salad to go. My total was $50. Hope this helps.
