I hadn't been to Sizzler since 2009, and the moment I spotted one along SR 99 in Manteca, I knew we had to stop for lunch. The restaurant is huge, clean, and very welcoming, with a friendly staff that makes you feel right at home. Prices are reasonable, and the food quality is just as delicious as I remembered. I went for the famous Salad Bar, and it did not disappoint! From creamy Clam Chowder, crispy Fried Chicken Wings, and build-your-own Tacos, to pasta and, of course, fresh salad with ranch dressing and all the trimmings--it was the best. Solid 3.5 stars upgraded for customer service. Sizzler is a total throwback! I can't even believe we ate here, but I am so glad we did because it reminded me of my childhood. We came here after a whole day at the great Wolf Lodge, and couldn't wait for the soup and salad bar with our kiddos. Unlike in the past, it was not something that came included with the purchase of an entrée. You actually have to add it on now for $10 a person or $20 as a meal. We noticed the burger and fries was only $13, and adding the salad bar made that 23, so we went with that. The salad bar wasn't as robust as I recall, but it did have a host of fresh fruits and vegetables that one could combine to create the salad of their dreams. I had a nice combination of fresh lettuce with all sorts of other toppings, like cheese and peas and Ham and chopped egg and red onion and I topped it all off with a delicious poppyseed vinaigrette. In the past, I recall her being more hot options on the bar, but this one only had meatballs, red sauce, pasta, and some less than appetizing looking chicken, wings, and orange chicken that was mostly breading, but did hit the spot for something crunchy and fried. Soups were what you expect broccoli cheddar and clam chowder but I did enjoy a bowl of the beef and barley soup that warmed me up on a chilly winters day. The service was where this place excelled making sure the table was always clear and we had everything we needed. They brought us some cheese toast, which was really greasy and not so great. At ordering another odd thing happened where the order taker asked about what temperature we'd like our burger cooked, but then informed us that they really don't offer any temperatures other than well done so that was strange. All in all the 75 bucks we spent on a family of four here was easily better than dining at the hotel. Awful experience before we were ever even seated. My 8 year old and wife ordered the Shrimp Shrimp Shrimp platter to share. After paying for the 5 of us they only gave us 4 sets of utensils. When I asked for an additional set they told us they could not because we only ordered 4 meals. Unbelievable!!! The manager took the approach that the customer is wrong when discussing the situation. I haven't been to Sizzler in ages. We decided to come here for Valentine's Day for dinner. A lot of people had the same idea too. We hit the dinner rush around 5pm. The line was long but it moved quick. You place your order at the counter and you get to sit wherever you want. My boyfriend ordered the steak & Italian herb chicken and I ordered the steak & jumbo crispy shrimp. We both added sautéed mushrooms and grilled onion to our order for extra charge. For just two meals it cost us round $72. This didn't include the salad bar, it's $9.99 to add on to your meal. Portion size of our dishes seem small but the food was pretty good. For the price we paid we think that the salad bar should have been included. Overall, we enjoyed the food that we ordered. Service was attentive and friendly. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Sizzler is a great casual restaurant in Manteca (near Costco Manteca and Great Wolf Lodge).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] While it is a steakhouse, the best thing I like about the place is the Salad Bar Buffet ($19.99 as of 3/15/26). It's all you can eat, and nobody ever has any guilt for eating too much fruits and vegetables and salads. But this Salad Bar also has hot food too, like soups, taco and nacho bar, chicken wings, pasta and meatballs too. I really enjoy the combo of salads and hot foods and for the price, it's a real bargain since its a buffet (AYCE) they have an ice cream and dessert bar too that's included. Btw, my server Carlos the other night was awesome too! Thanks Carlos! Great service, great food, good price, equals a great place to have lunch or dinner :) Pro tip: The Salad Bar by itself is $19.99, but if you add it to an entree order, it's only $9.99 as an add on. The staff at this Sizzler location is awesome. Really friendly group. I'm sure there are people who have never been to a sizzler, this review is for those folks. When you walk in you order at the counter, you go sit wherever you want. A server will come by your table and check out your order. Then they bring you everything. If you have opted for the salad bar, just step up anytime you want. I haven't been to a sizzler since the late 80s. It is the same as it's always been. It's possible to get a somewhat healthy meal at a sizzler. There's the salad bar, you could get some grilled shrimp. Just a plain steak isn't necessarily a bad thing from time to time. This location in particular is always clean, staff is always friendly and the food is always good. I tell everyone i know that I stay shocked about their lobster: how is Sizzlers' lobster better than the lobster at Reb Lobster?! Tonight our server was Carlos, so super friendly and attentive. Our family was staying at Great Wolf Lodge and looking to find a dinner outside the hotel nearby that would be good for everyone, so we ended up here. Walked in on a Monday at 6:00 and had no wait for 6 people (4 adults and 2 kids). You first go up to the counter and order your food. You can choose the "salad bar buffet" which is more than a salad bar (more on that later) for $18.99 or add it on to another menu item for $10.99. After you order the screen will ask if you want cash for a tip, and they will literally give you cash back to leave at the table when you're done. My guess is that it's to help tip when you don't carry cash and are paying before service. We ended up at $88.27 for 2 adult salad buffets and 2 kid salad buffets (each comes with a special side that's not offered at the buffet, we got fries), and two adult sodas (separate price from buffet), and a $5 cash-out for the tip. This was more expensive than I anticipated. After you pay, you seat yourself. They have some high tables, regular height tables and a few 2-4 person booths. A server will come around and take your "ticket" and bring your drinks and cheese bread (might have been my favorite thing). They will also provide refills, clear plates and help with any questions. Ours came around frequently to check on us. The salad bar includes multiple stations: salad bar (they also had macaroni and potato salad), taco station (hard shells, ground beef, cheese, lettuce, beans and rice), 4 soup options, pasta with marinara or marinara with meatballs, chicken strips, taquitos, photo wedges, nacho cheese, tortilla chips, dessert options (churros, bread pudding, pudding) and soft serve ice cream with a few toppings. So it's definitely more than just a salad bar. The food was well stocked and refilled when it ran out. Overall, the service was great and the staff was friendly and nice. The food was "fine" but nothing was worthy of a specific mention. Had it been a little cheaper I think we would have been more satisfied overall, but maybe we might just need to come more hungry next time to get our monies worth? read more

When looking for someplace to eat for dinner while staying at Great Wolf Lodge, I was very excited to see a sizzler (esp since all the locations around me in sac have closed). I was also surprised to see it had such good reviews, and they did not disappoint. Great service, although they could have cleared plates a little faster. They also were a little slow putting out new, clean bowls. I waited awhile for them to put out a new peach cobbler, but that never happened. Idk that it's a traditional peach cobbler, but I was in love with it! It's was gooey and the perfect sweetness. Soo sad they weren't able to put more out while I was there. Food was great, aside from the clam chowder. For some reason, it was not hot and the flavor was yuck. Salad bar had fresh ingredients (no brown lettuce or old veggies). They asked if we wanted cheese toast, which I actually never knew about until visiting this location, right when we were seated. Prices have really gone up - $18ish for unlimited salad bar only. I think it's worth it though, as the average price of a meal is like $15 anyways. With this price, you get salad, soup, and dessert for that price. I would def recommend this location and I would come back if at GWL again. 4.5 stars rounded to 5, which is rare from me.
