I'm so so happy I actually gave this place a try.. I have tried so many seafood boil places in the surrounding areas and this place maybe alot smaller and the inside is way more laid back, but the food was just as good if not better than other seafood boil places with a better price tag! the service is decent was not great but I have defienetly had way worse. read more

I was craving seafood boil and wanted to try this place out seeing as there were so many (questionable) good ratings on google It was not that busy when we came, there were probably only 3 other tables dining in. Service was extremely slow and lacking, I normally don't mind if servers just leave you to do your own thing but good service was practically non-existent here if it's anything beyond taking your order as soon as you sit down and bringing it to you after it's cooled down to nearly room temp. I did not think it was possible to make seafood boil bland but it somehow just was. No flavor at all, not even salty. Absolutely would not recommend read more

I am disappointed with the service my family received during our visit yesterday while celebrating my nephew's 13th birthday. Upon arrival, when I informed our waitress that our party would be nine people, she responded with "Oh my God" and rolled her eyes. Throughout the meal, I was repeatedly asked to perform duties that should have been handled by our server, including putting lids on drinks, passing out beverages, distributing plates and gloves, and handing out condiments and utensils. When our shrimp order arrived incorrectly, my mother politely informed the waitress. Rather than addressing the concern, she walked away. She later returned and stated that they were out of the item we had ordered, which should have been communicated before the food was served. Additionally, the waitress's child was present in the dining area for much of our visit, loudly playing games and talking, which further impacted the dining experience. We chose your restaurant to celebrate a special occasion, and unfortunately the poor service and lack of professionalism overshadowed what should have been a memorable family celebration. read more

Ive been disappointed before, never like this. My family walked in early afternoon - gave the CRICKET EMPTY place the benefit of the doubt because it was still early we just figured we were ahead of the rush.. unfortunately we learned our lesson. This place was by far THE worst seafood boil restaurant we've ever been to. We hold seafood boils close to the heart and are usually driving 30-60 minutes to our favorite spots and wanted to give this place (a mile from home) a fair shot. My husband ordered lemon pepper shrimp, there was maybe a spoonful of sauce and when he asked for more lemon pepper sauce on the side it was a bowl of melted butter and maybe lemon pepper seasoning? Just tasted like butter so we don't know. I ordered the trifecta sauce shrimp and the sauce was just barely there, missing seasoning and flavor. Not to mention after taking our order, the waitress/manager/owner? Didn't stop by once to see how we were doing. WHILE WE WERE THE ONLY TABLE PRESENT. We had to holler for her every time because for whatever reason once we were seated she turned the party music up to an unreasonably loud volume for our one table. I'm not a Karen, I love a good time. When the food is good and there's a reason to put on music and vibe lol. Even the chicken tenders and fries for our kids were somehow equally upsetting? Fries were undercooked and soggy, tenders were dry and tough enough for our 3 year old to spit out. Idk, maybe see for yourself or just trust a true foodie lol. Also something to note, I like headless shrimp while my husband likes head-on. We've never noticed more than a $1-$2 difference (headless is usually more) but at this place, they charge $7 more for headless shrimp. After eating a few shrimp each we decided to pack it up to take it home and salvage what we could with homemade sauce. HOPE THIS HELPS read more

Review #1,006 Posted on 2.28.28 We stopped in here on a whim on Friday night the 27th while in town, actually originally to try another restaurant. This spot is in a strip mall on Louise Ave in Manteca. We got greeted & sat right away when we came in. The staff here doesn't stop moving, it's pretty much 3 people on the service side, they take orders, run food, & check on you. I believe the guy who checked on us a lot, I want to say his name was Lieness. Super nice guy, hard worker. The other ladies too. Food was good, for sure it's marked up, but I thought quality of the seafood, and the way it was cooked was good. I've got a high standard for the sauce, this one was for sure spicy, stayed on the seafood and corn pretty well. To me that's how you can separate these boil spots from each other. When you pull the shrimp out of the bag and de-shell it does the sauce drip right off? If it does, to me that's a sign of bad sauce, it's not getting infused on the seafood, corn, potatoes, etc. This spot it was decent, but better than most. Cheese sticks were good, sweet potato fries were too, healthy portion on that. We'll probably come and eat here again for sure down the line. read more

So I came in here, hoping to have some good boiling crab for my birthday and when we first walked in, they had one party in there and we were not acknowledged for about 15 minutes. I should've known them to just walk away. However, we stayed and again, sat for almost 20 minutes with zero acknowledgement. I then start to order and she rudely asks me if I've ever been to a place like this before. Whatever, ok.. So we ordered the trifecta toppings with our bag. The taste was non existent and there was hardly any sauce.. a thin layer at bottom of bag, I shook the bag to try to get the taste throughout what we had ordered and even then it did not help. It was not tasty. The lady was wearing sunglasses the entire time and when I came time to pay, she yells from her little area that we have to pay upfront. It was not a good experience. 90% of it was because of the service she was providing. Rest assured, we will not be back read more

The Cajun Spot - Cajun/Creole Near Me - Manteca, California

I first tried to place an order online, but the website said they were offline and instructed me to call. I called, and the woman who answered was extremely rude and seemed irritated that I was even calling. I explained the situation, but she acted as though she didn't understand what I was saying. I asked if I needed to come inside to place the order, and after about three minutes of going back and forth and repeating myself, she finally told me they don't take phone orders and that orders have to be placed in person. Her attitude was so unpleasant that it honestly made me second-guess going altogether. We really wanted seafood, though, so we decided to give the place a chance and hoped the food would make up for the poor customer service. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. When we arrived, I believe the same woman was taking our order, and she had the same rushed, rude, repetitive attitude. There were only two other customers sitting and waiting, so it wasn't even particularly busy. I also noticed that the prices in-store were higher than the prices listed online. For example, the headless shrimp was listed at $19.99 online, but we were charged $22.99 in the restaurant. We ordered everything to go, and the food did arrive home nice and hot. Unfortunately, the flavor just wasn't there. The Cajun fries looked and tasted like frozen fries with Cajun seasoning sprinkled on top. They were soggy, wet, and very bland. The garlic noodles were warm and probably the better item we tried, but they still lacked flavor and barely had any garlic. The seafood boil was also hot, but the sauce was very watery and didn't cling to the shrimp or crab legs. The shrimp itself was good, but definitely needed more flavorful sauce. The snow crab legs were mediocre. Nothing was necessarily disgusting, but overall the food lacked a significant amount of flavor, which was extremely disappointing for a seafood spot. Between the rude customer service, higher in-store prices, bland food, and overall experience, I personally don't feel it was worth the money. Unfortunately, it felt more like a money grab than a quality seafood experience. I wouldn't recommend it, and honestly, you may be better off making a seafood boil at home. read more

We ordered the $55 bucket that came with 1/2lb of shrimp and 1/2 of crawfish and 2 corn and 2 potatoes and 2 mushrooms and 1/2lb of crab legs. 1 order of white rice and french fries. That order was delicious, well seasoned and not spicy at all. We then ordered water she came and dropped off 2 bottled waters, my husband tried to tell her he wanted iced water in a cup she said its okay and just left the water bottles at our table. A table near us asked for water also they got iced cup water. We saw her called called her over immediately and told her we wanted that water (her facial expression was like oh fuck) she came over and laughed and gave us water in the same cup we had our sodas in. I was annoyed by that like she really tried to play us. What a disgrace! We later ordered 1lb of shrimp the same flavor as the previous order. This one came in a little spicy which i did not ask for but we still ate it slowly because it seemed like she doesn't understand orders!? She was the only one taking orders and serving and charging. Again food was great but service was shit and she is a bit unfriendly the older short asian lady. Also half way through our food she opens the doors and leave it wide open so our food went colder quicker and my husband was fighting the flies off the food. Honestly, I would drive to Stockton to get my Cajun fix, because it is cheaper than this place and way better service. Captain crab in stockton has unlimited refills on sodas and water unlike this place which give you canned soda and as I previously mentioned they were trying to give me bottled water. Also, the music was too loud and it was fighting with the sound of the news she had going on the television. read more

Well hubby placed an order for pick up only for the spot to mess the order up not sure how that happens but it did. Service was good this spot looks like it needs some updates interior nothing special. Ok the food was nothing special honestly the flavors were basic nothing crazy. Everything was cooked well it fed family of 4 wish there was more excitement on the taste and flavors what was not worth buying was the Chicharrons bland and not that great waste of money. We were just craving a seafood boil and wanted to try this spot probably won't come back read more

The only good thing about this place was the 2 songs the lady played super loud. We came in here on a whim on a Sunday afternoon, we were the only ones there, we got the 1/2 of shrimp bucket with the trifecta sauce, or lack there of. There was MAYBE 8 shrimp in the back half the mussels and clams were empty. The waitress sat on her phone playing whatever she was watching loudly, not once did she check on us read more

Not worth the money. Taste old and rubbery. The ladies super rude when complaining and then acted like they both don't speak English. Never ever will we eat here again. Id rather starve. Ughhhh yuck! read more

placed a to‑go order and when I picked it up, I realized there were no utensils, napkins, or sauce. I went back inside to ask for them. The cashier was helping another customer, so I waited. When another worker came out, I politely said "excuse me" so I wouldn't interrupt anyone. She looked at me with irritation and said, "I'm busy," even though all I needed were basic items that should have been included with my order. While I continued waiting, the cashier who originally took my order noticed me and asked if I needed anything. As she tried to help, the older woman who had ignored me began yelling at her in front of customers. The cashier apologized and went to grab what I needed, while the older woman continued to be rude and dismissive. I asked if she was the owner; she ignored me. The cashier then told me she was the owner's mother. At that point, I let them know I would be leaving a review and requesting a refund. No customer should be treated disrespectfully, and no employee should be yelled at for simply doing their job. The cashier was polite and professional, but the behavior from the owner's mother was unprofessional and completely unnecessary. read more

I recommend you not to eat here I had a terrible experience first we got there an hour and 20 mins before closing which is plenty of time for two people to eat still! Then when I went to order I told her to remove two items and she forgot to remove them when I received my plate when I was ordering she kept rushing us the whole time trying to take away our menu the whole time which I wasn't done ordering! When I got my food the corn was cold not eatable, when I told her that the corn was cold she said that she couldn't do anything about it because she wasn't the one cooking, when I went to pay I told her about her customers service not in a rude way i came off very polite and not aggressive and she started raising her voice after I told her i wasn't going to play the full price and will only play $70 on a $90 tab!! read more

My experience was horrible, it was my first time coming in to order food go and it wasn't pleasant.. the Asian lady with the glasses was so RUDES , yell and no customer service etiquette AND I WALKED OUT . Not sure if she was owner of that restaurant or that's way her personality because she's ASIAN. After that there was another customer came up to order she told that customer IM BUSY COME BACK 15mins that's the time I walked out! I NEVER GOT TREATED LIKE THAT JUST ORDER MY FOOD TO GO! read more

Best Cajun spot in town....worst food service ever Asian lady needs help, did phone order and still had to wait 20 mins at the restaurant

A lot of the negative comments here is about their customer service and theres a reason for that. I will never recommend this place just to be greeted and serve by rude employees is not a place where i want to spend crap load of money on. We have dined in had a bad customer service experience, we placed an order online and when we picked up they said they never got our order, their order doesnt even go directly to the restaurant, some rude lady said my daughter handles the online orders and they never got it after waiting good 30 minutes. We called a tried to place an order over the phone and they said we dont take phone orders you have to do it online, we tried to explain what happened the last time and before we even got a word out they hung up. This is my experience and others as well but if your ganna pay good money go to a place where you get good service and good food this place aint it. You would come out as a pissed off customer, empty wallet, and a bad decisions. read more

Being the relatively small town that we are I was fully expecting mediocre food at best. Suffice it to say my wife & I were ABSOLUTELY BLOWN AWAY!!! This place has killer, and I mean killer Cajun & Creole food, and I know my Louisiana & NOLA food. You might even say I have to turn in my gumbo crown now. If I could have, I would have gone in the back and given the cook a hug and probably called her mom. It wasn't only that everything tasted great it's the fact that seafood, especially shrimp, is not the easiest thing to cook. Shrimp can go from spot on to rubber in two minutes flat...especially in a gumbo. It was perfect! It was so authentic that if I were a gambling man I'd bet my bottom dollar there's a couple big Magnalite pots somewhere in the back (IYKYK). We will be back on a regular basis. Laissez les bons temps rouler! read more

I just got ripped off, I was charged $95 dollars for a one person bucket. Her prices on the menu she hands you are not what is charged. She made sure we sat down instead of ordering from the cash register; where the real prices are hidden. My crawdads were the size of brine shrimp. Everything was covered in a ton of butter. She had the place set at 75, while she was wearing a short sleeve short. Loud Vietnamese music playing. I will never retune here; if you look at my reviews I seldom wrote a negative review ( I'm not a Karen). Please stay away read more

today, june 23, 2026, we went there for my grandson's birthday. the waitress rolled her eyes when i stated there will be 9 for dinner. we had to ask for water. when she bought plates, she put them on the table and stated, "pass them out." we had to ask for refills of water. she was very friendly to the asian people that came in, just rude to everyone else. i will never go there again. i will tell everyone i know not to. the food order came out wrong; she would not take it back. she said, "deal with it." please don't go here. it's not wroth the stress or the money. we spent 279.39 witch included gratuity of 39.60 i can't say it enough: don't go here. read more

The Cajun Spot - Pound of shrimp - Cajun/Creole Near Me - Manteca, California

My family and I have been here many times. The food has always been great, but unfortunately the service has consistently been HORRIBLE. We've said multiple times that we wouldn't return, hoping each time that maybe the service would improve -- but this last visit was the final straw. Our server wore sunglasses the entire time and showed absolutely no personality or professionalism. When I asked about the price of an item, she quoted one amount but ended up charging us double. This isn't even the first time we've been overcharged. We gave this place chance after chance because the food is good, but poor service ruins the experience. We've finally decided not to return, no matter how good the food is. read more

We found a spot with good garlic noodles! The boyfriend and i decided to try this place out one weekend. We arrived a few mins after they opened and the place was already packed. We were lucky enough to have a spot. Garlic noodles with sausage (4/5). The dish was oily and the sausage tasted spicy. The dish was pretty delish despite being both oily and spicy. Garlic fries (3/5). The fries were ok. They had fresh garlic bits but the fries seems to be overcooked because they were really crunchy. Chicken tenders with fries (2/5). The chicken tenders were really hard. The batter had way too much flour and also the French fries were overcooked. Chicken tenders ended up being super had the next day since we took it home to eat. Overall, food was good. There was only one waitress that was doing everything all by herself. Service was great despite how busy she was. read more

First of all, upon arriving at the Cajun spot located in Manteca I felt discriminated when I walked in, the lady that wears sunglasses (black) on July 12, 2026 around 7:40pm, was very rude. I had just gotten off work and decided to give this place a try with my husband. Upon walking in sunglass lady turn me around and basically said no dining in constantly telling me no as I am informing her I have reservations right before they stop taking dine in guess which is 8:00pm. I called around 3pm and made reservations I spoke with josiah I believe is his name starts with a J. He was very polite and stepped in and seated me and my husband immediately when he heard what was going on. I also mentioned my concerns to him with his co worker and thanked him 100x as I really was looking forward to eating here, although the lady was rude we still stayed because of josiah. His service showed true dedication to his job. Throughout our dine in he came and checked on us, making us feel very comfortable and ensuring us that he is ready to serve us. While the food was ok, overall I recommend giving employees that kindness goes a long way. You should not handle anyone's food with negative energy or attitudes. It is not professional. Thank God for the worker josiah for his leadership during this experience as it was our first time. We really appreciate him. I will absolutely come back as long as he is there or more workers act like him while being in a high volume establishment. Further more, the other worker (sunglasses) seated two other families in which is also why I feel discriminated-- the entire time she just kept looking at me as if I did not belong there. Please talk to her, that is highly unprofessional. read more

I must say...the pictures on yelp does not give this place justice. It's actually really nice inside. I would suggest to come in and eat. My order was pretty simple, and tasted great. For larger orders, they would need to confirm your payment with credit card with an ID Their online website was easy to use for ordering to go. Lots of parking but pretty busy location. Pricing is decent read more

Love it! Highly recommend great food! Must come , great service!! You will come back for more

Bad service, been in multiple times and the lady is rude. We came multiple times over a hour before closing and weren't able to order.

We have been coming to Cajun Spot for a few years now and haven't been in a while - we were unfortunately very disappointed this tine around. We got our usual Bucket #3 and immediately noticed how much smaller the portion is. We used to feed three people on this and now there is barely enough for two. The shrimp were way overdone and rubbery - to the point that the shell stuck to the meat like super glue. The corn and potatoes were mushy and overdone and the pound of crab equaled two small clusters. The trifecta sauce is now sweet and hardly spicy even at the 2nd level. We also made the mistake of ordering two unsweetened iced teas which ended up being two bottles of Pure Leaf Iced Tea that they charge $6 a piece for! Total out the door was $113 after a 20% tip for a meal that was lackluster at best, and way overpriced for the quality it presented. We won't be returning again unfortunately; we can make our own seafood boil for a fraction of the cost and with much better care and quality. read more

Great little hidden gem! Nice employees and fun to eat with your hands! You order your fish by the pound (shrimp, different types of crab, crawfish), then you pick your sauce (Cajun, garlic butter, lemon pepper or trifecta (combo of all three)). Then you pick your spice level. You can add potatoes, corn or sausage. Then the fun begins. Your food will come all mixed in a plastic bag and you have to get your hands in there. Huge mess, great flavor and a whole lotta fun! Large parking lot. Not cheap but definitely a treat. read more
