It's been a long time since I've been to a Sizzler, but it was my son and I this evening and he mentioned that he's never been before, so it seemed like a good opportunity to relive a bit of my childhood and check it out together. The ambiance is exactly as I remember it. The dim lighting, wood grain and earth tones, and a friendly staff bringing you plates and drink refills. The food is as I remember it as well, hit and miss on the quality of the salad bar items, as I recall as a child. The steak was on the small side, but cooked and seasoned proper, and unlimited shrimp for the kid and salad bar for me. It may not be the best meal you've ever had, but if you leave hungry then that's on you. ;) What really set the experience was the friendly staff. They were all friendly and handling business - clearly an experienced staff. We were never wanting for refills of food or drink, and they really were working hard to make it a pleasurable experience. This alone would bring me back. :) I'd say to try to come at off-peak hours at this location was it was packed to the gills @ 7p on a Sat, but by the time we left it was clearing out. read more

Holy nostalgia! I remember going to Sizzler often as a kid in the 90s. Surprised that they are still around. My niece wanted to go somewhere with a salad bar and this place came to mind. The salad and toppings were delicious. I enjoyed that part. The potato fries and meatballs were not good...at all. The beef and vegetable soup was delicious. The pasta salads were good. I didn't have enough room for dessert. My niece who is 8 loved the ice cream though. But what really stood out to me was the fantastic service from everyone who worked there, especially Beverly! She made sure everyone in our party had everything we needed. She was friendly and prompt with everything. Hard worker and hope she gets some kind of praise for this review! This is another great sizzler location! I think all the locations are revamping their interiors because this one looks updated. The salad bar was well stocked with fresh veggies and foods, tables and seats were clean. I always go for the double Malibu chicken with a baked potato add butter, sour cream, and chives on top. When I am in Los Alamitos with my mom we are going to the only Sizzler that I know is still open!! It hasn't changed: high value, great service, and clean! Booths are super comfortable, the waiter kept the drinks filled up and kept bringing us fresh plates.... The cheese toast is sinfully delicious!! Love the potato skins..... Update time! Five Stars because they take pride in customer service, keeping things clean, food variety & taste. There's plenty of booths & tables in a warm atmosphere. They get plus points for the Salad Bar. Those of us who miss Souplantation will probably understand. I wish prices were lower of course, but the place is quite popular so guests must find it do-able, or at least worth it. Study the menu board featuring Steaks, Lobster, Burgers, etc. There's a Senior Menu with at least 4 entree selections. You can upgrade to include the salad bar so inquire about that. There's a Children's Menu as well. You can also join their e-club. The seasonal salad this time was Sweet Potato & Pomegranate in a dressed lettuce mix & I liked it! There are soups & hot items as well. You can put together all kinds of creative concoctions! Located across from Los Alamitos High School. Ample parking. Great for a solo lunch, a twosome or a group. We had lunch and the experience was good overall. The staff was welcoming, checked on us often, and kept our drinks refilled. The restaurant was clean and not too busy at 2pm. The unlimited salad bar had lots of choices and everything was fresh. We ordered the Steak with Unlimited Crispy Shrimp and the Malibu Chicken with fries. The fries were soft and tasty, and the cheese toast was delicious with cheese on one side and soft bread on the other. The tiny shrimp came in a large portion the first time but was a little too oily, so we asked for another plate with less oil and it came out much better. My husband and I had lunch here and we both ordered the Italian Herb chicken. Normally, that's our go-to order at other Sizzlers, and it's never disappointed us until today. The flavor was really off on both of our orders and the chicken was really chewy. The cheese toast however, was still wonderful as well as the baked potatoes. Yum! It was our first time visiting this location since they remodeled. The menu was a little different, and maybe they changed their recipe. On the bright side, the service was OUTSTANDING and the staff very friendly! But based on the meals we had, I don't think we'll be back. read more

My daughter had a softball game out here. I was driving by and was excited it has been years since I've been to a Sizzler. We don't have one where I live. It didn't disappoint it was amazing!! This was my first time at Sizzler and I was not disappointed with my New York strip steak, it was well seasoned and didn't really need that my A1 sauce either. I ended up getting the build your own salad and baked potato with my steak also. The complimentary garlic cheese bread is worth the hype also. They have a decently sized salad and taco bar also along with soft served ice cream. Our waiter Beverly was amazing too in getting me more lemonade for to go. Craving a salad bar so off the Sizzler we go! Consistently good salad bar offerings. Service is excellent! Today I tried the Prime Rib Burger instead of the usual Tri-tip Steak. Burger definitely was a disaapointment. Great bun, lettuce, tomatoes, and dressing but the meat itself was a bit rubbery, like it came out of a steam warmer vs charcoal grill. We've been going to Sizzlers since the 1980's. They have changed, prices have indeed gone up, but they still provide a solid meal at a really good price. My husband ordered the steak AND lobster and a loaded baked potato for $32.79. Where else can you get that? Is the steak the same as you'd get at a fancy steak house? Nope. But come on! This is real food at a real value. I had the two shrimp skewer dinner, which came with rice and a side (I had vegetables which were cooked just right). We both added on the full salad bar option for an additional $9. The salad bar was fresh and full of options. The only miss was the soups; neither of us enjoyed the chicken noodle or beef and vegetable soups. Overall 4.5 which I will round up because everyone was so friendly and helpful. The first time to eat there since the renovation. I wanted a steak so I thoight I would give them a try. My order was the small rib-eye with baked potato. Then I thought about other vegetables, tomatoes , lattice, etc. With the new menu you have to pay extra for a salad? So I had to settle for a very bland meal of meat and potato. I really used to enjoy the one trip to the salad bar. I guess it is all about profit and not diet. Went with a group of 6 on mother's day. Salad and soup bar was depleted, No gloves, no croutons, no chips, the chicken wings, nacho cheese and taco meat was dehydrated af like 4hrs at least dehydrated, and hard, no labels anywhere letting customers know what they were plating.. My granddaughter bit into what she thought was a chicken nugget and it was a fried zucchini. I thought she was gonna puke on me at the f****** table. Soups were empty upon arrival, then when they finally filled them, undercooked rushed bs appeared. The potatoes in the soup were hard and undercooked. My steak was nothing but fat and grissle, baked potato was an all day rock, almost broke my teeth on it. It's absolutely shocking that Sizzler is still in business and people eat here, willingly. Even if it were free, I'd go elsewhere. "Steaks" are unseasoned, unflavored jaw workouts disguised as beef, sides are forgettable, and the salad bar couldn't be more mediocre if it were on lethal doses of steroids. Prices are astronomical for the "quality" of food you get. Seriously $40+ for a "steak," god awful shrimp, and a salad? How does anyone with half a taste bud left tolerate the food. Best thing I can say is the food is cooked, you're unlikely to get sick from eating it, and you can tone your jaw muscles trying to chew thru the "steak." On second thought, if you like sizzler, please keep going and leave the real food to anyone with more than one tastebud left. Staff/servers/hosts, whatever you want to call them are great, however, unless they start bringing in food from other restaurants, I can't see going back unless I'm playing a joke on someone I absolutely hate. The food was good enough but after a long work day that's not the atmosphere I'm looking for to be rushed to finish your food and everything being put away before closing . I haven't been here in years. Got the ayce salad bar. It's decent enough. Tacos. Wings. Taquitos. Spagetti and meatballs. Soup and salad. Remember to ask for garlic cheese toast! Service was friendly and fast enough. Seniors get a drink included. The food is very filling. They use to have baked potatos on the bar but now its wedges. And there used to be shrimp and guacamole but not now. It's quier on here with an okder crowd and families. People seem generally pleased with their food. It's mice to pay ahead so you can just ho when you're done. Highly recommend for a nostalgic sizzler meal. Cost me $20 and that included the tip. read more

I have eaten here probably 100 times the past 10 years. Since they remodeled, I came in today to check it out. I ordered the senior shrimp and chips and found that they no longer offer the side salad or soup with the senior meals. Very disappointing. The wonderful staff said they are not happy about that and have received many complaints. My daughter had a birthday perk of a free drink which I later found I was charged for, along with my own drink. If the owner continues to not conform to the printed menu on the website he will soon know closing for good! read more

I went to this establishment with my mother for evening rations awhile ago. We ordered and paid for the food before we were seated. I ordered rib eye steak and French Fries. I had "Wooder" to drink. Steak was delicious. French Fries were decent. I was glad that the cheese toast is now all you can eat. Service was good. Men's washroom was a little small but clean and paper towels were available... good. This establishment rates a rare perfect score. If I was to assign a letter grade as is done in school, this establishment would get an A. read more

We went to Sizzler in Los alamitos after they remodeled it. We were super disappointed and left without eating! We're seniors and always got the senior:smaller meals that came with a side salad and drink. They no longer offer these meals and all the prices were much higherwe won't be going back because it's no longer a good deal. If I want to pay those high prices, I'll eat at a better steakhouse. That area has lots of seniors so I'm sure we're not the only disappointed ones. read more

My coworker and I would visit frequently for the side salad, we are not big meat eaters and we never cared for the other food items only the salad. Well Sizzler decided to take it away and force everyone to purchase the whole salad bar at almost $20 per per. My husband and I have been coming to this Sizzler for over fifteen years, repeat customers. Today is unfortunately our last visit. We have watched prices climb steadily over the years but today was ridiculous. We used to be able to each get a dinner that included either steak, chicken, shrimp or ribs with two sides and a side salad and a drink for around $50.00. Today my husbands steak and 6 jumbo shrimp (not really jumbo) with ONLY one side was $21.29, no drink. My dinner was 12 "jumbo" shrimp and ONLY one side was $19.79, no drink. We drank water. Our total was $45.00 and this was after they rounded out without asking us. I guess they have to pay for the remodel somehow. We won't be back. read more

My autistic son only eats pickles when we go out to eat, most establishments, even fine dining restaurants accommodate this request for no charge, but this freaking guy tries charging us 5 bucks for a ranch size cup of pickles. Best Sizzler around is in Los Alamitos We usually drive down to Lake Forest to go to the best Sizzler in Orang County , hnown as "All American" Sizzler. This one is just as awesome and not so far away. Everything at the salad bar is fresh The food bar has potato wedges, wings, mini corn dogs, taco/nacho bar. There are plenty of types of potato salads and other stuff. The wait staff keep everything clean and are on top of keeping drinks full and cheese toast served. If you need a steak or salad for a good price in some uth LA county, this is a great choice. It seems to be a favorite for people all dressed up in their church clothes on Sundays. It doesn't have a theme, so .... No easy nickname for this one. read more

Obviously, the steaks, seafood, etc. are not my thing, however, the salad bar is great, the service is very good and the baked potatoes are not bad either. I had actually been to this exact Sizzler years ago and had enjoyed it, which is why I recommended it tonight to a friend. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the food tonight. The fried chicken wings, pasta, potato wedges and barbeque chicken bites had been sitting there for a while because they were not hot and dry. The chicken noodle soup and taco beef were way too salty, while other items like the artificial crab salad and clam chowder were bland. (I have been to the El Toro Sizzler and still remember the Garlic Toast there being absolutely amazing - it was really mediocre here.) The server, however, was hardworking, attentive and friendly - which is why it wasn't a lower star rating. In addition, the lettuce and salad bar items were extremely well kept and fresh. Before I was finished, they brought out new barbeque chicken bites which were delicious when they are fresh, but they made the mistake of piling on the cold and dry chicken on top instead of tossing it out. The pickled beets, peach slices and the lemon parfait were probably my favorite things tonight, which are pretty sad choices to be favs. I have never wanted to stop eating at an all you can eat salad bar before I was full... that is, until today.
