$20 Greek salad. It is hearty salad with a ton of vegis underneath. Flavor is good. Reason for my average rating is the lettuce to protein ratio. They use head lettuce which isn't the best type of lettuce for a salad. Not sure if I would come back to have this salad again, but I would try another menu item. read more

Got two combos and was super disappointed with the fries they were barely fried at all and almost no seasoning. They were so raw when you bit them it had the raw potato texture inside they were limp too. Also we ordered onion rings which were actually pretty good but they didnt give atleast one ranch with it. I drive by this place every week and I had never been in. A sign outside caught my eye talking about a "sports box" deal, including a cheeseburger, french fries, two chicken fingers and a soda for $13.99. I thought it sounded good and pulled in the parking lot. On my way in the front door, I noticed another sign offering a daily special of a cheeseburger fries and soda for just $12.99. I chose that one since I didn't really want the chicken sticks anyhow. I ordered my cheeseburger with just onions and I asked for a small container of pico de gallo which I popped on the burger as well. You guys, this was probably one of the best cheeseburgers I've ever had. The fries were really great also, nice and thick, and they have one of those soda machines where you can get 4000 combinations, which I really enjoy. They're on top of everything, from the order to the exit, and they're always friendly. The Ambiance: Clean, with plenty of seating. We were looking for a nice place to feed a group of 20. According to Google, John's wasn't as busy as usual on this Sunday afternoon so I had to give it a try. Based on the Yelp pictures, the food looked great...and to avoid busy lunch spots that require a wait staff. Anyway, between myself and my family, we got a pancake special, a cheeseburger, a chili cheese dog and lastly a veggie burger. We were all super satisfied, the only complaint from my son was that the chili cheese dog was messy. But that is a given. The rest of my party got different items on the menu, and everyone was super satisfied and the food looked so amazing. Been going here for decades. Used to live down the street from here and it was a spot everyone would go to back in the day. I now live way down in South county and a couple of times a year I try to come here and get one of my favorite burgers of all time. Still a great burger. Still the old school diner experience you're used to but I've noticed the service quality has dipped over time. Couple of months ago I was here again with an old friend. Saw an older gentleman by himself. I over heard the entire exchange between him and the server lady that left me pretty pissed off to say the least. This guy was by himself, ordered just a burger. It had cheese and you could tell he was upset. I could also tell this man was different and needed a little more care than others. This poor guy, asked for no cheese and he seemed so sad. The lady was so rude to him and told him just to take off the cheese and gave him a knife to scrape it off. He literally looked sad and dumb founded. She straight up immediately told him "we won't be making you another burger so here scrape off the cheese then". I'm still upset for not intervening and demanding a new burger for this man. We had a good experience at John's. Grilled chicken sandwich and sourdough bacon cheeseburger combo made fresh to order with good portions. Flavors on point and service friendly. Read on Yelp about cleanliness and we didn't experience any of those things mentioned. Hopefully are visits continue to go that way. read more

However - do we need or want this gigantic of a portion? There's no way a person can comfortably finish the serving sizes they offer. It's definitely one of those spots you crave when you're hungover, that serves fried foods like fries and zucchini, cheese burgers, and greasy breakfasts. I had the french dip, my go to sandwich in life, and it was fine, nothing special but was shocked how expensive it was. I should note the ajus didn't taste like real ajus. Part of the appeal of a greasy spoon, is the price and honestly, the quality of the food doesn't justify the price. I don't see myself returning. This establishment has been around for awhile. Generally, a casual, community favorite. It was a go to spot for our family. However, the most recent visit was a disappointment to say the least. We left an AirPod on 07/03. Confirmed the AirPods were at the location. The restaurant was closed on 07/04. So went the following business day on 07/05 to inquire about the AirPods. The manager and waitress said there was no such item left at the restaurant. While the waitress had AirPods in her ears. We showed them the device location, which was the restaurant. They were of no help or assistance. If anything, they wanted us to leave. It's really unfortunate that they would lose a loyal customers business and trust for $200. The menu was average for a typical diner with your average breakfast and lunch items. I got the chili verde omelette which came with hash browns, beans and toast. It all came out to $15, which is par for the course these days. Nonetheless, the omelette was delicious and I will be returning to try other items. My neighbor, who dines out a lot, took me to breakfast at this neighborhood restaurant. Right away, I liked the unpretentious, spacious, open, bright interior framed by large windows. We ordered from an overhead menu at a counter looking right into an open kitchen. Prices were very reasonable. We picked a corner table with a good view of the new Cypress Lexington Park. It was quiet and comfortable, conducive to good conversations. Our orders came quickly. Note to self for future visit: my companion's generously-portioned, mouthwatering pork chop with eggs (basic breakfast) was a better deal than my omelette, albeit nicely-prepared. I got a Belgian waffle combo ( a fairly simple meal ) and was decent. But the service, everyone who gave a two star or below was correct. My waiter had dirty hands and dirtied my water cup. Food is fantastic with a wide variety, all done well. My favorites are the classic burger, patty melt on sourdough, and gyro combos with fries and soda. Coke soda machine has about 100 varieties, including lemonade Sprite, with free refills. Service is great, with 2 cashiers whenever needed, and they'll bring your order to your table and take away your tray/plates after you leave. It's nice if you leave a tip at the table. Ambiance is great, with a diner feel but wipe open with lots of seating and windows all around. CLEAN. Just take a peak behind the counter at their spotless stainless steel kitchen. They all take pride and ownership in making sure everything's clean. They're always mopping and even the bathrooms are spotless with ice cubes in the urinals sometimes, which I've only seen in fancy hotels or night clubs.
