First time coming here after my original breakfast spot was extremely busy--and I'm honestly so glad it worked out this way. I had seen Dalton Cafe on Yelp and noticed they're known for their homemade muffins and omelettes, and they absolutely did not disappoint. I tried the pumpkin and cream cheese muffins, and wow--warm, moist, and incredibly comforting, easily some of the best muffins I've had in a long time. For my main, I ordered the Dalton omelette, which was everything and more--perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and super filling. The hash browns were a standout, tasting like mashed potatoes but crisped up into hash brown form (in the best way possible). It's been a while since a breakfast truly wowed me, and this one definitely did. The ambiance really added to the experience--cozy and comforting, especially being seated by the window facing outside. The waitress working nights is always incredibly rude and seems annoyed by customers from the moment we sit down. There is no greeting or welcome--just a blunt, "Ready to order?" Throughout the meal, she rolled her eyes, appeared irritated, and made us feel like we were inconveniencing her. Unfortunately, the food wasn't much better. The clam chowder was gritty and sandy, the omelets had an oddly sweet flavor, and the potatoes were greasy. Prices are outrageous. Overall, the quality is inconsistent and disappointing. The entire atmosphere felt unwelcoming. Staff appeared miserable, and customer service seemed to be an afterthought. There's even a sign that says, "Beware of the attack waitress," which should have been a warning. Save your money and spend it somewhere that values its customers and provides friendly service. This is another one of those Cypress places that we love. I've reviewed them on Yelp before, and I've always mentioned how cute the country atmosphere is as well as how good the food is. I've also mentioned how good the service is, but I have to say that these are really special people here. My father-in-law, who is now 95 and has dementia, was a regular customer. He can no longer go as often as he used to because he has to wait for us to come and bring him. But they are so kind to him, even now that he doesn't quite make sense. As soon as he walks in they greet him like an old friend and my husband and I truly appreciate it. It also says a lot that the same people are always working when we come to this cafe, which is rare to find in this day and age. read more

Super cute place. On the outside, it's easy to pass by without thinking of stopping inside, but you must. Inside the place is very warm and comforting. On November 8, 2024 we found ourselves in the vicinity of a local restaurant that I particularly enjoy. As we entered the establishment, we were promptly seated despite the noticeable busyness of the restaurant. Unfortunately, my preferred seating spot was already occupied, so we joined the other patrons in the central area of the restaurant. Our server, Tammy, promptly approached our table, acknowledging that we had not yet decided on our menu selections. Tammy made our visit so pleasant, her smile and cheerfulness was just the tip of the iceberg. Tammy seemed to have a great repour with each patron and knew many by names. Tammy, witnessed me trying to take a photo of us dining in and she quickly came to our table. Tammy asked jokingly you want a photo of me lol ! Took a picture of herself playfully. We all laughed. I got the spinach, mushroom and cheese omelet, served with home fries and a side of TWO biscuits and gravy. I thought the omelet was well done, not over cooked, and seasoned just enough. My companion got a chicken fried steak with two eggs over easy, hash browns and also TWO more biscuits and gravy. The steak was a tad dry though. Our toddler got the macaroni & Cheese dish - it was soooo cheesy! We came in so late for lunch that we ended up being the only ones left by the time we ended our meal. We loved the vibe and the at home country feeling! The service was awesome, and the food was amazing! It was my first time experience on Sunday. The host refused to seat us in the booth I'd liked (2 seater) even though it was cleaned and empty. Noticed after we got seated where the host chose to seat, a couple was seated in exact spot I had asked for. The food & waitress was decent. I called several times to speak to the manager to give feedback but did not receive a call back. We decided to try Dalton's Café today. The minute we walked through the door we were greeted and sat immediately. Our server, Shelli was amazing! She was very friendly from the get-go and very personable. She recommended items on the menu and believe me we were not disappointed. My mom and I split the fancy chicken salad sandwich on sourdough. Not only was it delicious but it was amazing! The sandwich also came with the side. We chose the side salad and believe me it was huge! Very yummy with Italian and blue cheese dressing! We finished off with two complementary (for being first timers) cookies. They were the biggest cookies I've ever seen and so delicious! My mom had the chocolate chip, and I had the peanut butter! last time i came here was when it was still next to the high school, went back because i just moved back from nyc and wanted to go on a nostalgia food run. placed a phone order at 1120am, was told that itd be ready in 10min. i showed up at 1130am, asked if my food was ready, was told it was still being made. wasnt told that i would need to go pay at the register, wasnt told much of anything really. while i waited for 20 minutes 3 groups got seated but not one server asked what i was there for. i asked again if my food was ready and they tell me that its been ready and that i need to pay at the register. food was ok. biscuits were burnt at the bottom and super dry and gravy didnt really have no flavor. pancakes were really small like almost kids sized. almost $30 for daltons omelette with pancakes and biscuits with gravy. thats expensive. read more

The meat isn't as good as what you would get at an expensive steak house but it's very good and the portion is very generous. The soups taste homemade and the Clam Chowder served on Fridays is the send best I've ever had. The baked potato is huge and delish w sour cream, butter and chopped green onions. A vegetable side dish is included, Lastly, in lieu of garlic toast, you can request a baked muffin. My fav is the Blueberry muffin. I ordered Fried Clams for my Evening Rations. I had salad and the two sides I chose were french fries and cottage cheese. In addition I had garlic bread. I had "Wooder" to drink. Quality of the food was quite good and I left very full and very satisfied. Men's washroom was clean and had paper towels available... good. The washroom was designed for one person at a time which is not so good. In addition there is a sign saying that the washrooms are for customers only which I disapprove of. I have a bone to pick with the personal appearance of one of the employees. The guy who greeted me wore his shirt untucked which I consider to be unprofessional. Met 4 friends here cuz I was having work done on my car and had 2 hours to kill. Only one of us had been here before and recommended it. Seemed like your normal local diner, but ALL the food was incredible! The soup came out with tons of veggies and the salad was fresh and chilled. I saw a variety of items at our table that ranged from breakfast to dinner entrees. French toast, Pigs in a Blanket, Monte Cristo and a Steak plate with Spanish rice. After a few hours of Pickleball in the morning we stopped by for breakfast with friends visiting from Hawaii. The cafe was not busy on that Tuesday morning so we had a very attentive waitress and service was great. Stepping into this restaurant is like stepping back in time. It feels cozy and warm like a country cafe. They offer Mexican and American dishes. My husband and I shared an Omelette breakfast that came with pancakes. Our friends ordered cinnamon French toast, stuffed French toast, another Omelette variety and a skillet entree. The portions here are big and easily shareable (at least for me). This is a good place to dine indoors with small groups of 1-6 people. I think larger parties would probably have to split up or wait longer. Good place for breakfast /lunch. Steak was a bit tough even when cooked medium rare pancakes, delicious syrup homemade you can tell service friendly except that they were getting upset at the Korean waitress. She seemed to cry, but I think it was because they were complaining about another coworker, we did something to her anyway all that stuff should've been kept private in the back but I guess that's what makes for a home family style restaurant ha ha, ha, ha, ha would come back again also you get free cookies if it's your first time. read more

I stopped in for a late lunch at this diner finding there is plenty of parking on either side of the building. Breakfast is served all day and they have a multitude of sandwiches to choose from. I sat at a booth and was immediately handed both a regular menu and a senior menu. That's the first time that's happened to me and I'll always remember Dalton's as the first place I felt like an old man. Haha. I ordered the monte cristo sandwich with a side of fries. The monte cristo wasn't deep fried in the traditional way but it was one of the best non-traditonal monte cristos I've ever had. The perfectly made french toast was used to make a double-decker sandwich...so, yeah, three slices of french toast...sprinkled with powdered sugar and cut into three pieces for easier eating. In between the layers of french toast were deli sliced ham and turkey along with gooey melted cheese. A side of mouth-watering strawberry preserves was provided in a ramekin for dipping. It all tasted fantastic although at first I had to use fork and knife to eat it as the french toast was hot off the grill and drooped when I tried to pick it up. No matter, it was amazingly good. My only criticism is it could have used an extra slice of both ham and turkey. The fries were hot and soft inside with a slightly sturdier exterior. I prefer a little crispness on the outside of my fries but these were still excellent. Service was on point and the prices were as expected. If I lived near here this would be a regular spot for a meal. read more

Hubby ordered the Dalton omelette with freshly baked and warm, blueberry muffin with home fries. The food arrive, timely quicker than I anticipated. I love my Ortega omelette the chili added a kick to it. Hubby wasn't quite thrilled with his. He said he would've liked his eggs on the softer side. He said it was tough. He is particular about omelettes, he says what he received was a scramble being passed on as an omelette. I wanted to try the grits-not entirely sure how I was supposed to prepare or dress em up but they're "gritty" -I liked the texture. The pancakes were just okay but were piping fresh & hot, a bit chewy, which I liked, a bit dense for my taste. Coffee was decent and Sherri stopped by several times to check on us. It tasted a little water down though. I was impressed with the way the staff were working as a team to ensure the customers are well cared for. The vibe was warm and welcoming. I can easily see how it is an establishment rooted into the community. Customers looked happy as they thanked and said goodbye to their servers like they're regulars. Dalton's Cafe is like a more homey version of Dennys. They offer the same amount of food but there is a more personal touch involved. At least that's what it feels like to me. The inside of the restaurant is very clean and has a welcoming feel to it. We came here an hour before closing so they sat us down fairly quickly. Our waitress was really nice and gave us some pointers on what to order since it was our first time here. She recommended me Dalton's Omelette. The food was out in less than ten minutes. The omelette was huge as you can see in the picture and came with a side of hash browns. It was more than enough food which I liked! It seemed just right and there was not anything wrong with it in the slightest. I will say that I would like to come back to try some of the other stuff on the menu. Okayy so I was actually a bit upset, I enjoyed my pineapple chicken sausage breakfast plate . Their muffins are OUTSTANDING but customer service was terrible . The attitude of one lady was truly upsetting , she was hostile , argumentative and completely unpleasant . When I walked in she seemed to be a bit busy preparing to bring someone they're food so I tried not to take her first words to me offensively but I've truly never been treated this way walking into any restaurant , she really said " what's up what do u want " in a very harsh way ...... I let it pass and said out to myself she's probably just overwhelmed and we have all been there but it just progressively got worse It was a male waiter who was very helpful polite and pleasant. He had brought me my iced tea but on accident brought me unsweetened, I just kindly told him I wanted the raspberry tea and if he could switch it out for me and apologized for not being specific and threw out a smile . He responded with it's okay no problem at all , THEN hear comes the lady who greeted me opening her mouth in the back ground scuffing ! Saying no it's not okay and walked off .... I said WOW she is very unprofessional and she became soooo hostile after that remark . Truly my feelings were hurt I am a sensitive person and she almost sent me in to tears I had to walk away from the whole situation ! She wanted to argue and she enjoyed flaunting this nasty attitude. And it was really really sad because I enjoyed the food and enjoyed those baked goods more than anything and planned on getting used to them lolol but now I am truly not wanting to go back and run into this woman .
