Went to dinner with a friend tonight (Sunday). We were throwing out different ideas and Islands popped into my head (it's been a long time since I've gone). I looked at their website and saw they have Happy Hour 7 days a week. Sold! We met there at 5pm and still had 1.5 hours of HH left. We each got a $7 cocktail plus chicken strips and fries for $9 (I also got a pint of Coors Light for $3). The drinks were good as was the food. Where can you get a cocktail and meal for $16 these days!? I also signed up on their rewards club on the app. For doing that, I got a FREE order of chips, salsa and guacamole. Such a deal! Knowing they have great deals 7 days a week I will probably start going here more often. read more

Came here on a Saturday 12/20 night to watch the football game with family and friends at the bar area. Mark, their manager and David was very accommodating and attentive to our needs. Mark checked on us often to see if there was anything we needed to such as food, drinks and even desserts for our kids. David often came around asking if we needed any refills or wanted to order other food while watching the game. The food was great, drinks was spot on and the atmosphere was fun and friendly! My family and I will be back again! Mark and his team made our night out with friends fun and full of laughs as we all had a great time! Special shout out to Mark and David! The food was pretty good and perfect for splitting each plate. The margarita flight--truthfully the worst tasting margaritas I've had. That said, I was glad we ordered the flight since it allowed us to finish the drinks faster with less waste. Update: I originally wrote this review before leaving the restaurant. Mid-bite, our server approached the table and asked us to pay the check. It was unclear what indicated we were ready to leave, as our food wasn't finished and our drinks were nowhere near done. In collaboration with ABC's 10th season of "Bachelor in Paradise", Islands has a limited time special. Islands' "Flight to Paradise" is only $9 on Mondays, till August 25, 2025. The "Flight to Paradise" is their "Tropical Flight", renamed in theming with "Bachelor in Paradise", i.e, Shipwreck to Emotionally Wrecked & Deep Blue Sea to Sea of Love, etc. The regular price is $17+, making the Monday "Flight to Paradise" almost 50% off! Great deal! On a hot July day, the flight was thirst quenching, and buzzed me up real good. Of the 4 drinks, I preferred the Golden Mai Tai, as it was the most stiff. The others were a tad too sweet and/or bright. However, still refreshing. Service was good, and the wait for the "Flight to Paradise" was exceedingly minimal. Ample seating, Islands Restaurant is located off Seal Beach Blvd., with parking at Old Ranch Town Center. Cheap way to get drunk! The $9 "Flight to Paradise" Monday special is a cooling reprieve on a hot summer day. 03/10/24 I haven't been to an Islands Restaurant in years! My daughter and I were starving after a long day of errands. She ordered the Big Wave burger: Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles & mustard with side of sweet potatoes fries and I ordered the Malibu burger: Cheddar cheese, smoked hickory bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles & mustard - protein style. I'm currently on keto and thought that ordering onion rings instead of fries was better. I guess I was super hangry because I failed lol onion rings are not keto due to the batter and flour coating. Next time, it's a side of veggies or fruits lol The food came out timely and fresh and plated well. Our server was attentive and on it, though I caught a glimpse of a look she had like she was ready to go. I didn't blame her. It was a gorgeous afternoon with the sun beaming through the windows. I'm sure she was waiting all day to be outside to enjoy it. Food was so good! Service was great! It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon! We very much enjoyed our meal. 10/10. Also, didn't even realize they have the BEST fries!!! They are fresh, with skin and have this nice crispy-chew to them. They used to be unlimited refills, but since I haven't been here for "awhile", our server said that was no longer offered. Mud pie? Yes, of course. This was by far the best service I received the kindness and the communication goes a long way so when we arrived, I said we were a party of eight the pretty hostess at the front said it was gonna be 25 minute wait which I was OK cause it's Saturday night and it's my husband's birthday so we chilled in the lobby had good laughs. We got sat a little after eight but the hostess was so kind to keep us updated with what was going on with the booth since we were a big party. We had a young server approach us right away. My mom and I enjoy visiting this location and we had another great lunch on Friday, 8/15/25. Our server, Caitlin Elizabeth, was very kind and helpful and we want to wish her luck in her next adventure pursuing her Masters at UCLA! On Friday September 19th, my 9 year old niece and I had a dinner date at Islands in Seal Beach. The place was packed and the servers were trying their best to keep everyone happy. I normally don't leave reviews, but the service that we received was second to none. The server that we got was Omar, and this young gentleman went out of his way to make sure that my niece and I had a great time there. He even asked my niece what she wanted, he didn't look at me and wait for me to order for her, he treated her like an adult, and my niece LOVED IT. Our drinks were filled without having to ask, the food came in and he made sure to ask if we needed anything else.My 9 year old niece even looked at me and said "Wow, he is really nice!" Omar got really busy, and he had the manager stop by and ask if we needed anything else. The manager, Apolo, was apologetic because they got so busy, he brought my niece a free desert. Who does that now days? I travel all over the country for work, and I eat out EVERYDAY, service has gone down every where, except at Islands in Seal Beach. Food was great. Server was wonderful and very attentive. But the hostess was not happy when we came in at 8:55 P.M. and told us that they close at 9:30 P.M. and we had to sit at the bar. When I questioned her about it she then seated us at a table but said we had to order quickly. We always go there when we need to eat a little later but we felt rushed and had to wolf down our food to get out by 9:30 P.M. Even the table across from us mentioned that they turned off the music and TV's at 9:30. So if a restaurant advertises that they close at 9:30 P.M. does that mean they want everyone out by that time? This islands has plenty of parking with close access to the freeway. The staff is welcoming and friendly. The restaurant is clean and has a tropical flavor as expected from islands. We ordered chicken wings and soup. The wings were outstanding and made perfectly crunchy and flavorful. The ranch is a little watery but still tasty. Soup was fantastic with cheesy goodness in every chicken tortilla bite. The burgers and chicken sandwiches were made perfectly with just the right amount of sauce and fixings. I posted a review and it went to the Pine Ave location. It was meant for the Seal Beach location. Trying to fix it now Went out on Wednesday night to my birthday and have some good food and drinks! We were served by Meaghan and she was fabulous!!! Very attentive and helpful. With a wonderful attitude even thought the restaurant was swamped. The place was packed because it was dinner time, just before 6:30 pm. Our food was fresh and delicious and everything came put just as we wanted. I celebrated my birthday with a slice of Kona Pie.
