What a delicious little place right in the heart of Seal Beach. Great food, prices and service! My friend ordered the fajita veggie burrito with shredded chicken and I had the spicy bowl with shredded chicken and pinto beans with the spicy sauce on the side. Charo Chicken is one of my favorite Mexican fast food restaurants. This location is on Main st in Seal Beach. The space is very small and it is as casual as it gets. 2 Small tables inside and 2 or 3 more out front. Most people tend to get their orders to go. You can call to place your order or use their app. Main St is a busy street with lots of shops and restaurants. However, i have never had any issues finding parking in front of the restaurant. Their menu is consistent with most Mexican fast food restaurant's menus, offering bowls, plates, burritos, tacos etc.. but with a focus on their distinctly tasty grilled Chicken. They use fresh Chicken. Not frozen. They flame grill their chicken to give it a charred taste. They have 2 main sauces or marinades that give their chicken that distinct flavor, including lemon garlic and spicy cayenne lemon garlic. My usual order is the 8 piece Chicken only (so, that's a whole Chicken), Lemon garlic sauce. I usually get an extra side of the lemon garlic to pour on top of the chicken. It is delicious. I get a side of the Cole slaw and a side of the black bean. Sometime I also get an order of the seasoned fries with extra seasoning. The staff is always friendly and accommodating and prices are average. It is the perfect meal anytime, but especially on a night when you just don't feel like making dinner. My son loves this place and it was my first time here, so I was all excited. He said to get the big combo so that I would have plenty of food to take home. I had four small pieces of chicken, coleslaw, a small piece of corn on the cob, tortillas, and a drink. There was lots of food. The coleslaw was very good. The corn was good too. I took my first bite of chicken and I never tasted chicken so salty before. I peeled off the skin and just ate a piece of the chicken meat. Super super super super salty. I made a face and didn't eat very much of it, and I gave it to my son to take home. He lhas high blood pressure and he shouldn't be eating it either. I don't know why he loves this place. They ruined their food with the salt shaker. There's no reason to over salt food that badly. So I paid for a large combo and wound up not eating very much of it at all. So disappointing. read more

The many chickens on the grill just emitting the most alluring smell ever reassured me I was in for a good meal. I went with the spicy tostada plate and the plate was big. The chicken itself was good. I got a side of fries that I fell in love with. The seasoning they used almost made me go through the entire side of fries before even starting my meal. I feel like this place is comparable to El Pollo Loco. They get no stars for service, .5 stars for value, .5 stars for food, and 1 star for overall feel. The cashiers were not very friendly nor were they helpful with suggesting items to order.... which makes me feel like it's just another fast food joint. They had a plentiful salsa bar. It was $13.45 for half a chicken (four pieces) and a bean and cheese burrito. not very cheap... The chicken was overly salted on the surface but completely tasteless for the meatier bits. I don't recall there being a meal option that included rice or beans... eh. This was a small place, only had two or three tables. For the restroom you have to exit the building and walk kind of into the kitchen. better than no restroom I guess. Might give them a second chance when i'm in the area and they're busier. read more

Parking can sometimes be challenging, but there is plenty of parking up and down Main Street. Food is usually pretty good. Unfortunately, It has definitely lowered its quality food and service recently. I'm not too picky of an eater, so I've let it slide a handful of times now... but they've been giving me the wrong order repeatedly now. Today was the 4th time in a row!!! It's a bummer when you go somewhere and you pay for something, and then get something totally different or without any of the incorrect ingredients requested... It feels like when they repeat back your order, they're doing lip service and don't actually give a dam what you ask for... I think this is my last time here, bummed.
