This concept is SO cool. Basically a Chipotle, but for Vietnamese food. Yes, please, thank you. You pick your base: rice bowl, salad, or sandwich. Then your protein and toppings going down the assemble line. You must get the cilantro sauce to top it off! There's a few set items off the menu for you if you're not sure how to build your own to make it taste good, it's a safe bet and I'm sure you can still customize it if you wanted to. The portions are really generous, I literally can't finish the rice bowl, I was in a food coma just walking back to my car, it can probably be made into 2 meals for me. I always wanted to come here but they were closed down dud to covid and only opened up recently. I love their pork combo rice bowl (so much fresh veggies)! Im a huge fan of broken rice and fish sauce and they just have the perfect dish for me. I got my order togo and they packed two side of sauces of fish sauce and tamarind sauce which were both absolutely delightful. I also tried the pork banh mi and the baguette was perfectly toasted. If you want a nice fresh warm banh mi, the baguette takes 3 minutes to heat up so just keep that in mind. read more

The review is for the BB special. It was good but if I closed my eyes it would be hard for me tell you it was a banh mi. There was double pork in the BB special and my scoop was maybe towards the bottom of the serving dish so it was also dripping with grease. This is a 3.5 star restaurant. It's a nice concept that it's Chipotle style with Vietnamese staple such as banh mi, rice bowls, salads and vermicelli bowl. I came because I heard of the BOGO deal for their grand/soft opening. This is also more Americanized Vietnamese food. I got a chicken salad bowl and a tofu banh mi. They definitely give you a lot in terms of portion but the price is also higher than what you usually expect. The salad bowl was filled with things like carrots, lettuce, chicken, jalapeno, etc. The chicken was tender and flavorful. The banh mi was ok. The carrots were not pickled enough, there's no aoli in the sandwich and the tofu was more marinated and soft. Again, more Americanized. One thing that I observed though was that when I asked them to put everything in both the salad and banh mi, they didn't. The banh mi lack a lot of the stuff that the salad had so I'm not sure if that was a mistake or if "everything" varies between sandwich vs rice vs salad. read more

My boyfriend and I decided to try this place out on 03/31/2024. Arriving there the restaurant was very beautiful especially the outside as they have a nice outdoor eating area. When it was time to order the employees seemed like they did not wanna be there and hated their jobs. The girl that helped us kept getting annoyed when we were choosing our toppings for our bowls we kept needing to repeat the toppings because she was not adding them to or bowls. It seemed like she was in some kind of rush to finish our order when the restaurant was not busy. Great lunch time spot. Service could be a tad friendlier, it sometimes feels like they're doing you a favor by serving you. Not an ideal feeling, but that could also just be a gen-z trait. As long as I stick to rating just food, it's a solid 5/5. (I have tried the rice bowls - steak and chicken - on multiple occasions with fresh salad veggies, side of soy sauce and a side of chili paste/oil). It's also a lot of food for $13.50 which then makes you wonder if you need that much food for a working-day lunch. Food prices in seattle have gotten crazy and feedback worth acting on is for establishments such as this one to be willing to serve a smaller portion and keep the cost under $10 (after tax). One of the most authentic banh mi's I've had outside of little Saigon! Super great prices and really fresh and yummy. The location is great and it's always been clean when I've came in. I'm trying to convince myself to manage my expectations as this place is essentially vietnamese fast food, but I can't help but compare it to traditional vietnamese bun and broken rice dishes that I grew up eating, especially since its the same price. I found it absurd that I was paying $15 for this easy meal, when I would have paid the same amount to sit down at an authentic restaurant where they actually make it right. I got the broken rice bowl with pork and all the toppings. The broken rice is way too mushy. It's supposed to be an almost al dente texture. Pouring the fish sauce over the rice made it even mushier and I didn't even use that much. The pork was delicious. Corn is not a traditional topping and I regret trying it with my dish. I did opt for jalapeño and maybe the staff member hated me or something but they put a shit ton that made it extremely spicy. I also don't get why everyone loves the green aioli sauce. It's like how italians would faint at us putting ketchup on pizza. It just doesn't belong there and it's almost offensive that it's an option. When my bf went to go pay for his meal, he also wanted to pay for mine, and the rude staff yelled over at me WHATD YOU GET. I felt like her tone was unnecessary and was extremely off-putting as I'm not hard of hearing, and even if I was, she could have just waited for me to come closer. Maybe she was trying to hurry me up so she could go back to scrolling on her phone. The bathroom also gave me crusty vibes cause they store things there, including napkins. Really fast place to get a pretty good Asian food fix. Inside looks a lot like Chipotle, but instead of burritos you get to choose between bread (banh mi), rice, salad, or vermicelli noodles. The protein selection is impressive - even their marinated tofu tasted pretty great. You get to choose what complimentary toppings you want to add. I'm usually too intimidated by selection to customize dishes at places like this so I always just ask for everything; fortunately everything they have works really well together. I ordered the SLUrping Noodles special, which is basically a pork vermicelli noodle bowl, with the fish sauce. Everything tasted pretty good together, refreshing veggies, flavorful pork, and the filling noodles. It's a bit hard to actually slurp the noodles, but I appreciate the word play nod at the neighborhood. My only complaint is that I didn't get enough of the fish sauce flavor actually come through, but otherwise a really satisfying meal. Generally a really clever "fast food" concept of Vietnamese food. Ordered this restaurant on DoorDash because it was 50% off. Food was decent but not great. Good qua Tory for the price.

So I don't know too much of the restaurant as my coworker suggested it. All I knew it was it's close by, it's Vietnamese food, and it's priced well. The menu doesn't have a crazy amount on it, which is probably for the best. Too many options in south lake union makes for incredibly long lines for for those picky eaters. I ordered off the specials menu, got the BB pork belly banh mi. It's kinda served chipotle style where you order your base and customize with your fixings. My sandwich consisted of what appeared to be pork belly, another thinly sliced beef, scallion, house mayo, cucumber, carrot, cilantro, a green sauce, jalapeño, and a nicely over easy egg. I normally don't eat pork, but I just went with it. I was concerned at first because the meat looked incredibly wet and the pork belly looked not so appetizing being pulled out of a wet container of floppy fatty meat pieces. But once everything was put together and into the bread it was pretty good. And my sandwich plus a fountain drink was only ten dollars and change. A definite rarity in south lake union, and it was a considerable amount of food, my coworkers were very pleased with their meals as well. The food was good it was quick-ish, but it wasn't absolutely outstanding so I would say a 4 is sufficient for taste, but for price it's definitely a 5. My major complaint is the line system. This is of course south lake union an area full of biotech, Amazon, and soon to be google employees. One person managing the food and one person managing the register while several people stand behind the food service line will hinder the flow of traffic heavily. I'm interested in seeing what happens in the next year or so. I would definitely return. read more
