Site One has purchased 2 of my favorite Seattle landscape suppliers, Terazzo and Trendset, and ruined both of them. The inventory for natural stone products has been moved to remote locations, the sales people have zero product knowledge, the yard people are mostly rude. For context, Ive been a custom residential landscaping pro for 40 years. They're charging $98 for a yard of gravel that i can get for $65/yd somewhere else. Since SO took over Terazzo it's been a slow decay. At first it seemed like things were going to stay the same but eventually it all went downhill. I will never return. read more

The place is not for the faint of heart, it reminds you of scary places where bad things happen around the corner in movies. haha. But, the prices are 1/3 better than the other places. Dear owner your store got one of the most arrogant, rude and unprofessional staff ever i encountered in any business in recent times. The lady over the counter gave me false and incomplete information about "online order discount" without handing over the discount code to me, neither did she tell me about in person delivery payment making me come for a second trip. This same lady next day attempted to charge me a false amount which i already paid online, and upon confronting her about high amount, she mentioned on her screen; which i dont get to see; the amount is lesser and right one, and in case if I am billed more i should come back for a refund, with a rude disposal tone. Why the hell customer needs to drive back to your store when the mistake is on your end, and you are denying to fix. Both the staff are rushing us to get out of store despite I am interested to buy more stuff and inquiring about prices. Last but not least, I was not given any receipt for payment i made, even after repeatedly asking, which is completely ILLEGAL as per consumer law. I am complaining this to BBB. Your staff is extremely rude, cold, unprofessional, flawed with lack of training and disgusting to core to deal with. I used to go here when it was Clarks. They weren't great, but polite, helpful and knew their jobs. Today I show up and notice it's been bought. I was the only customer in the showroom. The clerk completely ignored me until I spoke to him directly. Even then, he wouldn't look up from his phone to give yes/no answers. I really needed 3 cubic yards of mulch so just went ahead and bought them despite the complete lack of professionalism and ineptitude. I asked; he came with the new company, Siteone. For what it's worth this place is a great resource. About a decade ago I had them deliver a truckload of dirt for some raised beds I built. The soil was good enough. Recently I built 7 very large tree planter boxes and needed some more soil. I did a bunch of research, looked at different options and decided to sample some of the soil I was going to use. They sell bags you can pick up. I think I'm going to have them fill my truck up this time, the delivery has gotten more expensive, if I were only to get one cubic yard it would be cheaper to buy soil at home Depot. The more you purchase the better deal you're going to get. Some reviews of this place make note that the staff can be less than helpful. This is not been my experience over the years. I think people are being overly sensitive. Do you have to ask for what you want, they can't read your mind. read more

Not visible from the street - but probably the best way to get a large project done. If your working on a large area nothing is quicker than have a truck load dumped right where you need it. I had been buying bags at home depot but it is expensive and very time consuming. The lack of visibility from the street - if your at all curious be sure and drop by and drive into their parking lot. I think it would be great if they could somehow put a little of their product alongside the driveway to advertise similar to how the neighbor on the left did. Probably best for contractors but they do sell by the bag and offer samples. I found the ladies behind the counter to be very friendly - almost fussing over me. Pricing can be a bit confusing as some rockeries sell by weight - some by volume - I did a little math on all of it and its very competitive but the price varies on the product. If you want large boulders or statement pieces - no better place - don't think Home Depot or Lowes even sells that sort of thing (maybe online with direct shipping). read more

They are gone and now it's Siteone which is farther away from my residence. The facility on Industrial is nearly impossible to find! We drove around for over an hour and finally gave up. Bought pavers, retaining wall and rocks from this place for my backyard work, cannot complain too much about the products except for some dog shit in paving sand. About the service, they can always make you feel you should be grateful because they are willing to sell you the rocks, and for your stupid questions, they are reluctant to answer that. Their driver took the pallets back when doing another delivery, I called them right after to see if I can get my deposit back, they asked me to be onsite, since covid errand didnt get back until a few months later and they refused to return my deposit. Since our clients cannot go on big outings due to COVID-19, our team decided to do rock painting in preparation for earth day. I explained to the employees who we were and what our project was and they pointed us in the direction of the rocks we would need. An employee helped my boss and I carry the 4 bags of rocks we hand picked over to the scales. However this was all for fun and games. He and the owner had no intentions of charging us anything. If I could give no stars I would. My dad's been working on our front yard and had made frequent trips here. I was completed appalled by the behavior of the staff here. After my dad had paid for bags of sand, the an employee who was helping with loading sand bags refused to help my dad load his bags. He told my dad to "Help himself" when it was his job to load. The employee was currently helping someone and asked my dad to wait, which my dad was happily going to do, until the worker decided to tell my dad he was going to help the guy BEHIND my dad first. This makes zero sense. I'm not one to play a race card but it's a little too convenient that the customer before, after, and the employee happen to be Caucasian while my dad being Asian. After calling around for the pebble color that would match my paint, I was able to locate it at Clark's. They had my color for a reasonable price. When I arrived, the guys at the counter were super cool offering all kinds of ideas and tips on landscaping. They have a wide selections of pebbles, rocks, gravels and sands. You can also order bricks and other hardscapes. They mostly deal with landscaping contractors but they'll happily give homeowners all the answers they need. There are multiple locations and each has different pricing on rock products. I went to the Hayward location and bought a ton of Mexican black stone. Service was poor and the front desk lady is extremely rude, but the pricing was good so I purchased and delivered a ton of rock. During the project I was working on I needed more stone and found a closer location in San Leandro. When I tried to purchase more at the San Leandro location they wanted to charge me more. I told them the price I had paid and they told me they were told by their manager that they could not match pricing. In my opinion they deal with the public rudely at both sights. I watched how they treated the people in front of me and it was just as poor as they treated me. I have now started to go to Acapulco Rock and Soil and found them to be better pricing with better service by the front desk staff. They also were more accommodating for my deliveries needs. read more

I definitley reccomend going in person because in my experience you get way better customer service and you really do need to see the pavers or rocks you are buying especially if you have never seen them before. I was going to order recycled rock, sand, and the pavers from them but they needed too much time to special order the Basalite pavers so I ended up going with ewing irrigation in San Leandro to order the pavers. The delivery was of 3 cu yards of recycled rock and 1 yd of sand. the driver was on time and was helpful in putting it in the right spot. Overall happy - There were a couple times I had to chase them down for answers but overall the price and quality was there. read more

I have used this rockery for 15 years off and on as needed. It used to be fairly good. My last 2 experiences have not been stellar. Yes I'm female, Yes I'm older but I have been doing my own landscaping for the last 20+ years. 1st time the grey beard just didn't have time to deal with me so I left and asked my gardener to pick up the rocks at San Leandro location. He arrived with a trailer load for 195$. 2nd time knew what I wanted, had truck weighed, put 10-15 rocks in, that weighed between 10-20# @ .12 per# (more on the small side, I'm old), had truck reweighed got charged for 600# @.16 and cost was over 100$. I know the cost posted was .12 per#!!!! but whatever, cant do anything about it now ,- except write an HONEST review. Truck arrived at 9:40 and the driver was nice and when we asked, he dumped it to our side yard instead of in the front driveway. We just finished laying down all the mulch and they're very clean (no random items in it at all) and pretty good quality. read more

I finished the project using the same material that I would have purchased from them from their competitor.
