Top view of wet bar counter

I had a pleasant and good experience working with Plamar for my wet bar countertop project. Initially, I was looking for a partial slab for the wet bar project and HomeDepot provided the best pricing but limited slab styles. HomeDepot uses Plamar for slab cutting and installation, so I contacted Plamar. Aldrin from Plamar was very helpful in addressing my questions. Eventually, the countertop project got expanded and now I need the full slab. Thus, I decided to work directly with Plamar and Plamar delivered. (see pictures). Thank you Aldrin for your prompt responses by email and phone and your guidance in getting our pieces to line-up beautifully! Also, thanks to Martin's team for outstanding installation work!

I have used their service twice via Home Depot for my two properties. I was impressed by their professionalism and with their installation team. Whoever picks up the call is also very responsive and helpful. In my latest project, I have a kitchen and 2.5 bathrooms, the company sent a team of 6 people that worked straight for 7 hours, leaving behind an impressive kitchen and nice-looking bathrooms. I will definitely use them again for my next property. FYI, I talked to someone at one of those marble stores near Junction road in San Jose. He wanted my project but quietly admitted none of them would be able to match Plamar price and one wouldn't go wrong with them as Plamar is a very reputable company among all.

Plamar installed a quartz shower enclosure with shelves as a sub-contractor of Home Depot. Bottom line, there was no apparent adhesive other than silicone caulking used to attach the shelving and the product failed after 22 months. Plamar has, as of this date, neglected to respond to my email after advising me that the work was out of warranty.

We really appreciated Liz, Ruben and the installers at Plamar that worked on our kitchen countertop remodel. They were professional, reliable and thorough and their clean up after the project was great. They were the contractors when we went with Home Depot with the kitchen remodel and we are so thankful.

The team at Plamar was fantastic from start to finish. Whenever I would called or emailed them with a question they we're more than accommodating a and answered all my questions in a timely manner. My wife and I love our new countertops . The crew/installers (Martin, Mario and Cesar) were great at installing our new counter tops! They were professional and very knowledgeable. They did an EXCELLENT JOB!!! They did such a great job that there was no trace that they were ever there. They cleaned up and made sure I was satisfied with the work. I can't say enough about them!!!! Thank you ! Thank you!!! Your company is very blessed to have such an outstanding crew of installers!!! We were so impressed with Plamar we decided to start the process of getting our back splash done too!!! Lafayette B

The team of Ruben, francisco and Javier really make a pleasant experience of working with them. Super skillful in installing countertop (quartz). Seamless seams connecting two pieces of stone at the corner. Even the pattern match. Amazing! The GM Curt i believe was very responsive in correctly minor issues when asked. The repair team came like next day. Maria was also very helpful in scheduling templates measurement and installation.

Plamar USA couldn't have been better for my out of plum condo bones. They use High Tech measuring combined IN ADDITION TO templating methods and a tremendous amount of attention to detail!! I was so impressed with how much they cared about how my job would come out but even more importantly with how it actually came out! On top of that they fabricated and installed Porcelain which is much harder to work with. It was the second time I used them. THEY ARE DEFINITELY PRO's from start to finish!

We purchased quartz counter tops in "Calacatta Goa" through Home Depot and Plamar was contracted to install them. Plamar did a thorough job and far exceed my expectations. Our counter tops are so beautiful and they installed the under mount sink with extra support. Additionally the workers were very patient with me and answered all the questions I asked. So far I am incredibly pleased with their work and will recommend them to all my family & friends!

Picture showing the countertop is now tilted.

Plamar is the contractor of Home Depot. Based on our experience, we strongly recommend against this business. We had a kitchen countertop replacement project earlier this year. During the process, Plamar cut the material in the wrong dimension twice (which was quite ridiculous given it is a simple task) and delayed the project by around a month, during which time we could not use the kitchen at all. The lady in charge Liz was extremely arrogant and did not care about customers at all. She insisted that the crew can only come at an inconvenient time with no option, and we had to take half day off of work only to find the crew would actually arrive much later than promised. Not to mention the job couldn't get done two times because of the wrongly cut material. If the final outcome would be good, we wouldn't give a one star either. That was not the case. As seen in the picture, the countertop is no longer horizontal and is actually tilted. It is impossible to fix without redoing the whole process. I thought I could at least give this review so that other customers can reconsider if matched with Plamar.

Plamar and Kevin were absolutely the best choice for fabrication and installation of our quartzite kitchen countertops. A technician came to measure in our home, and created a digital model from the physical plywood mock-up countertop we had made using his high-tech instrumentation. It was awesome! I served as the designer for our kitchen remodel project, and it was very important to me to select the specific slabs of stone for our kitchen counters and backsplash. My visit to the warehouse was great! I was shown the available pieces in the color we had chosen at Home Depot. Even though it was almost closing time, the staff were warm and patient as I identified the 2 slabs I wanted to be used. I took pictures of them and then followed up by email to communicate how I wanted the layout to be cut from the stone. Kevin let me know that they would do their best to accommodate my ideal layout. On installation day, I realized that they had cut them exactly how I had requested, even though there were more cuts and extra drops necessary to accomplish it the specific orientation that I wanted. The installation crew did a good job; the one seam is nearly invisible. Overall the experience was excellent, our countertops are absolutely gorgeous, and are the cherry on top of our highly successful kitchen remodel project. Thank you Kevin and Plamar USA!

I like to thank Plamar USA (from Union City), Home Depot (from San Jose) and Cambria (in Union City) for making possible to have this beautiful Cambria Trafalgar countertop in my kitchen All the team was amazing starting with ordering (Carlos from Home Depot) , communication (Dana), measurement (sorry I forgot his name) and installation (Efret and Oscar) Yesterday Efret and Oscar installed the countertop and everything was perfect, they took care of every single detail! Now each time I'm going to my kitchen a have a big smile on my face Thank you!

Plamar is the selected contractor for Home Depot. We had issues on the Home Depot front but our Plamar team was FANTASTIC. Francisco headed up our installation and he is INCREDIBLE. Attention to details and just so kind and helpful. If you're working with Plamar, 100% ask for Francisco.

L shaped kitchen counter with drop in cook top and under mounted sink, backsplashes and window sill
    Gerald B.

The Plamar fabricator/installers are rock stars! They first installed a simple minimalist 2cm Calacatta Goa dining room counter. Then when we reconfigured our entire kitchen they fabricated a long matching L-shaped counter with drop-in cooktop, sinks, backsplashes with window sill ledge and a huge island with overhang. Since this was the second remodel of a 1970's kitchen nothing was standard, level or perfectly built. The installers were amazing setting up in the driveway with a portable awning in the rain and working relentlessly to complete a very tweaky installation, all with a great attitude and pride in their work. I can't say enough about the great service from the office and design team, the pre fabrication laser measure guru, to the quality of the in-shop slabs cutting and counter fabrication and then the final on-site install crew's tweaking of the details and fine craftsmanship (not to mention the muscle involved ) ! The price was very competitive and the service five star! Thanks Plamar!

Based on my experience, you will not be disappointed. If you want to hear about the overall experience and level of service, then read on... I started off my search by messaging multiple people/companies about countertop fabrication and installation. Some messaged me back, some gave very minimal responses, some places had high prices, some didn't have time for all of my questions. This is the first time I've done any countertop work and I did a lot of research on many different places and scoured the Hayward/San Leandro area and beyond to look at different countertops, designs, etc. Alvaro always responded to all my messages and emails. Every single time. Sometimes my messages would be weeks apart. When I finally made my decision to go with him, it was well over a month from when I first contacted him. He stuck with me all along the way and that left an impression on me, especially in this type of business. I had a few strange questions about different options and configurations of the counters and he was always responsive with open and honest opinions and information. Once I finally picked out my material, he met me at the shop where I purchased the counter to check out the material and he helped me make sure we were getting a good piece that wasn't too warped. All of this helped reassure me that he approved of my selection and that his trained eye could notice things that I wouldn't be able to notice on my own. He picked up the slab with his truck and took it off to fabricate and cut. He showed up a few days later for the install and it was done in no time. Oh, I forgot to mention that he stopped by and did a consultation and looked everything over and provided a ton of really helpful advice and analysis of the job, how he would suggest doing it, what he wouldn't suggest etc. He also brought some samples with him for me to check out and offered a great price on countertops that he already had on hand. The entire experience is everything that you would hope for in a countertop install. I will recommend him to anyone that need any countertop work. The pricing was some of the best I could find, the work was high quality (still looking great and holding up 7 months in) and Alvaro was a pleasure to work with. Thank you very much for everything!

He was great and very clear answering my questions about the feasibility of the project, what material to use, and the timeline he could do the project in. He gave a great recommendation of where we could find a slab the size we needed (we needed an unusually large slab and he knew exactly where we could go - MSI in Hayward!). He came earlier this week to measure and make a template for the slabs, then came this morning to install with his team. It was quick, easy, and excellent! Him doing preparation with a template to take into account imperfections where we were going to install was excellent and the slabs look beautiful in our space. I highly recommend him!

They may be fine for small tiling jobs, or a cheap kitchen flip that you don't care about the quality but anything beyond that is a mistake. Project Experience: -Disorganized & Poor Communication: Ruben, the contractor, constantly miscommunicated with his crew, leading to errors and wasted time. The crew speaks limited English, and Ruben failed to properly relay instructions. -Constant Rescheduling & Delays: The project was plagued with intentional delays because they were trying to juggle randoms crew members to the job site. They do not have a dedicated crew. To keep the job moving, I had to step in and install my stove hood myself. Quality of Work: -Minimal Supervision & Costly Mistakes: Ruben was only on-site for 30 minutes to an hour a day. The crew made frequent errors, wasted materials, and ultimately cost me an extra $5,000 in materials. Unprofessional Workmanship: -A crew member (Adrian) improperly used self-leveling, causing mortar to seep through walls and doors. -The same worker almost set my kitchen on fire due to incorrect wiring. -A junior crew member (Manuel) threw away new materials, further increasing costs. -My husband and I had to redo the wall texture they applied because it was done so poorly. -The countertop was improperly installed (by Victor), leading to a post-installation crack. The contractor promised to fix it but was a no-show, wasting an entire day of our time. -The dishwasher was incorrectly installed (Ricardo), requiring my husband to take a day off to reinstall it. Material Pricing & Usage: The contractor ordered materials on my behalf, but the pricing changed and was increased without transparency. The crew also took materials I paid for to use on other job sites. Also on two occasions, we had to order more tiles at 3x the cost because all the measurements were incorrect. Other Issues: -The crew trashed and clogged our bathroom toilet. They denied responsibility until I installed a camera--only then did the issue stop. -Never reimbursed or refunded for damages and extra expenses. Final Verdict: Ruben is a nice guy and means well, but his company is not equipped for big jobs (over $10K). If you have a small bathroom tile job, they might be fine, but anything beyond that--find a better contractor. We rushed to finish the project just to be done with them, and in hindsight, we should have hired someone else from the start. Do not make the same mistake we did. 2/5 - Would not recommend for major home renovations. Recommend for small jobs only.

We hired a general contractor and agreed to use all of their selected subcontractors except for a small subset we insisted on selecting ourselves, including Custom Stone. Custom Stone came highly recommended by multiple stone suppliers and other fabricators in the Bay Area. The scope of our stone installation was large and it was critically important that we select a fabricator who had experience with higher-end homes and highest-quality installations. Our scope included a master bathroom consisting of a double vanity, an 8' tall all-slab master shower and an undermounted roman master bathtub; a large kitchen with multiple stone surfaces including a 12' x 9' island; two guest bathrooms with marble slab vanities; a guest bathroom all-slab shower; an all-slab marble surround and hearth for a 42" fireplace; a custom designed and constructed semi-precious slab backlit bar; and an outdoor BBQ counter with Neolith. At the outset of the project, Custom Stone joined us during trips to various stone yards, advised us on the considerations of different materials, and helped us to obtain the most competitive pricing with their relationships. During the fabrication process, Custom Stone sent us multiple detailed design mock-ups and welcomed us to participate in the process. They recently invested in state-of-the-art fabrication equipment and technology that enables Contractors and Owners to see exactly what output they can expect, and to efficiently and flexibly provide input into the design and configuration decisions. For example, their new 3-D Laser measuring system and real-time digital vein-matching software allowed us to approve our slab layout before the fabrication started. Custom Stone's CNC waterjet cutting machine enabled exceptionally precise cuts on the material that we didn't find possible with other fabrication firms, allowing Custom Stone to produce the highest-quality end products for our project. Custom Stone's work is uncontestably one of the highlights of the new home and has significantly enhanced its aesthetic and value. We cannot speak highly enough of their work and the process of working with them. They worked and collaborated well with other trades/subcontractors, offered up creative solutions and demonstrated an unwavering commitment to quality. When we were selecting our stone subcontractor, we considered five (5) criteria in the following stack-ranked order: (1) precision in design and craftsmanship, and attention to detail; (2) knowledge of products/materials; (3) design skill in assembling pieces to create contiguous and less visible seams; (4) use of current technology and tools; and (5) reliable and on schedule. Custom Stone achieved the highest marks across all five criteria. We would certainly recommend and hire them again for whatever scope project we consider in the future.
