Horrible. I listened to the reviews and unfortunately made the mistake of trusting it. We ordered the #1 which was extremely simple broth, noodles, and beef. Somehow it still went wrong. The portion was small and the broth tasted watered down. The meat was tough and tasted like discount expired meat. Overall, it was not good and I would recommend any other pho spot honestly. Service was mediocre and almost non existent. You pay at the counter and get seated down in a small space. The sauce bowls are filthy and condiments aren't wiped down so there was sauce and splatter all over the side. We asked for veggies and did not receive them until about 10-15 minutes later and the broth already had started to get cold. Hopefully someone else will have a better experience as this experience was a one time thing for me. I, for sure will not be going back. read more

First time coming here but I came here with people who already been a couple times. When you walk in, you order at the front of the register and pay right there and then. I've been to one other restaurant that does this and I find it so convenient! I ordered the pho chin. The broth tasted really flavorful and they gave a good amount of sprouts on the side! I think next time I'll get the ribeye instead of the brisket. The Thai tea was also really delicious! The chairs were really comfortable, it was different from what I usually see in pho places but it was nice. There's also outside seating if that's your jam. Also the pho came out really quick. Within five minutes of ordering and sitting down we all got our dish. I was pretty surprised. We came around lunch time on a Friday. I love this place! The pho is so delish, and the options for meat are great. I tried the garlic beef and was amazed by the flavors. I want to try their oxtail pho soon. Not as good as its Elk Grove counterpart- the broth did not have the oil skimmed and had a lot more MSG. The Hanoi pho does not come with the fried donut and the steak was overcooked. Overall still ok if you are in a bind for pho in the Davis area. read more

Went here for the first time recently and was blown away! There's a limited menu, but the pho is *chef's kiss* and the size of the bone marrow wowed the whole family! Was really happy to hear Sit Lo opened another location in Davis. We ordered the Hanoi and Saigon. Hanoi had more of a beef flavor and the Saigon tasted more like your traditional pho which has the herb flavor to it with your tendons/tripe/beef balls, etc. Hanoi is also sweeter with more scallions and just beef. One of our favorite pho places is actually the other branch of Sit Lo, but we were surprised at how different they are. At the other location, the fried doughnut also came with your pho vs at this one, it doesn't. You have to order it separately. Also, at the other location for the Saigon, it had a lot more different meats/tendons/tripe and overall, the amount was larger for each pho. Nonetheless, this will probably be the best pho place in Davis so it's still nice it opened here. I don't recall the other location having oxtail pho, but this place has it, but when we got there at opening time, they said it was sold out? I think since it's new, they are still working out the kinks and I'm sure their menu will start having the things listed. Come check them out. read more

We come to Davis regularly and this place is on our rotation. The short rib pho is great if you are feeling particularly carnivorous. The bone marrow is HUGE and is worth sharing, especially if you like beef tendon and are willing to put some work into cutting it off the massive marrow bones. read more

I had a bad experience as I ordered Pho brisket. I let the server know it was super tough and not acceptable. They said we know it is tough. So why in the world what a restaurant serve food that they know is not OK ?? so I question why are you serving something that you know is not going to be satisfactory to a customer they did not answer me. I asked for a refund it took 45 minutes to get the refund. I was very disappointed with their customer service. I will not be going back there. I went there to experience the food for a review as a food critic that I write a column for so of course, the review will not be favorable due to not accommodating me in a timely manner and serving food that they know was not OK to serve. Don't be fooled by the presentation. I was drawn to this restaurant because the pho looked more like the pho I'd get in Vietnam than the other pho places in Davis (i.e. fresh pho noodles, offering Chinese fried doughnut, etc.). I was very excited to try this place with my boyfriend, who had never had pho before. When the pho was brought to us, it looked quite promising until the very first sip of broth. It was underwhelming to say the least. The broth was extremely bland, and had no flavor whatsoever, leaving more to be desired both in taste and aroma. It lacked the aromatic spices, richness, and depth of a good pho broth, and lacked flavor to the point it tasted watered down. When asking my boyfriend what he thought, he said it was aight, stating that it was lacking in flavor as well. I was disappointed that his first time trying pho was such a let down given how promising the pictures and reviews of this place looked. Maybe we went on an off day, but I'm surprised how many good reviews this place has considering how bland the broth is. I'm giving this place 3/5 stars instead of 1 or 2 because the service was good, for the fact that they had fresh pho noodles, as well as for the fact that the other components of the bowl were good i.e. the noodles (although there could've been more noodles to be honest), as well as the meat quality and quantity. Went there with my wife and kids. You order before you get seated, which is kind of weird, but ok. You end up with a bunch of people standing right at the entryway looking at menus trying to figure out what they want. They offer many different combinations of protein for the pho, and two different kind of noodles (fresh and rehydrated). They don't offer much outside of the pho, so if you want a sandwich or grilled meat keep looking. They had a kids pho, which I appreciated. It was beef ball and noodles in a smaller portion. They didn't put any garnish on top, which I super appreciated since we are giving it to our picky kids. Both kids enjoyed their pho. I had the rare steak and beef ball and my wife had the combo. I highly enjoyed the broth, it was wonderful. The beef balls were also on point and tasty. The rare steak (they use ribeye) was soooooo tough. They really should switch to filet. I had to chew on it for a while. The noodles were overcooked. They would basically fall apart. I've had fresh noodles in my pho before and they didn't get mushy like these. My wife said that here tripe was good, but she said the tendon needed to be cut into smaller bite sized pieces. She also thought the noodles were overcooked, but the broth was great. I felt that the price was a little steep for the quantity of food. There wasn't much meat or noodles. I feel like the kids pho noodle portion is the same as the bowl you get (there's only one size). I feel like you could increase the noodles by 50%, that's how stingy I think they were. Overall I might try them again, though I have seen other reviews with complaints about the rare steak (it was quite tough). Maybe I'll just order the kids pho for myself. Run don't walk!!! This place is superb -- I was in pho' heaven! I was sooooo excited to see ox tail as an option on the menu. I know I looked like a cave woman sucking the meat off the bone. The broth was delicious -- meat was falling off the bone and they were not shy with meat portion. I for the first time was able to eat all my pho' it was that good. I legit couldn't stop even tho I was STUFFED! The ratio of broth to noodle to meat was perfect. The complimentary hot tea is awesome, but they had great drink on the menu as well. The Thai tea was fire. The service was the fastest I've ever experienced. We had just settled into the table and food had began to come out. Thoroughly enjoyed Sit Lo Saigon for its authenticity and delicious taste. I would argue this is the yummiest pho in Davis with the flavorful broth and tender meat. The ordering process is a bit funky; as you walk in you order at the front and then you are assigned a table. Before we could even get to our table a few of the dishes and toppings were already there - super quick service. There is plenty of seating and was pretty busy when we went mid day for lunch. First time visit to SLS Elk Grove. Pho broth was excellent, service was super fast. Really liked the combination of short rib with oxtail pho. Also ordered the bone marrow to try. Excellent choice. Only suggestion for improvement is to make the broth. hotter temperature wise. We tried the fresh instead of usual rice noodles which was extra. Good choice, but wish the noodle portion was larger. this place has the best hanoi pho/ pho broth in general! i love that they also offer the fresh noodles in addition to the typical noodles you get at pho restaurants. the hanoi pho broth is the perfect amount of savory and flavor. i dont even add limes or seasoning into my pho because it comes out tasting perfect each time. my husband gets the saigon pho which is also great. i think this pho place in general has the best broth/pho. although they are the same owners as the other sit lo location and saigon alley, this particular davis location actually has THE BEST pho, even better than its elk grove/other counterparts. we've also had order the side of bone marrow, oxtail and donuts. the bone marrow is literally a big ass bone where you'll have to dig inside for the marrow so ask for a little spoon. it goes well topped off with the chinese donuts. the oxtail meat is nice and tender and comes with a lot. they both come in a bowl of broth. it can get busy while school is in session but their operations is pretty fast so the wait is never too long. read more

This is has got to be one of my favorite pho places in Davis. This is the type of restaurant where your order and pay in the front before being seated, despite this, the service is great and the staff is quite attentive. I love that they don't cut corners when it comes to serving you a good portion of food and they also offer extra pickled onions with your pho which is my favorite part. I had low expectations because davis pho spots usually aren't that authentic or great tasting compared to spots in the bay. However, I was really surprised that the broth had the star anise taste. I was really pleased that there was $0 delivery fee over $12 orders on DoorDash as well. The meat on the ribs were fall off the bone soft & they even offer thick noodles (not offered at any other pho restaurant in davis). Review from POV of a Viet kid from the Bay. Good for Davis but I wont say that its the best pho ever for sure. Portions are really good, they give you plenty of meats and the bowls are huge. Also have some fancy add-ons like bone marrow and oxtail. It helps me feel a little less homesick and I'm grateful for that. My only complaint? comment? is that the Pho is a little oilier than I'm used to and I feel like it could be more fragrant from the spices. Service is good! Food comes out quickly and is overall a nice experience. Modern looking interior and its been busy the couple times I have been.
