I'm visiting a friend in New York and we decide to go to Sisters to have dinner and some drinks. After paying a 300 bill, a burst of wind makes one of the windows to fall, hitting the left side of my head and making a cut in my ear from which I start bleeding. We ask the waiter for assistance.
Enter drunk hostess
We are approached by the hostess who has been clearly having some drinks and we can tell right away because of the way she speaks and how slow her reactions are. She brings me ice, a bandaid and a bottle of Advil. We ask her to bring something to clean the wound in order to not get infected and this is where the fun begins... After telling us she will go to the bodega to get the first aid kit, she takes around 30 minutes and comes back empty handed. We tell her that we just want rubbing alcohol and cotton to prevent the wound to get infected. After disappearing for another 20 minutes she tells us all pharmacies are closed, we give her directions to go to a nearby Walgreens but she goes inside and after 5 minutes comes back with A GALLON OF HAND SANITIZER AND A DIRTY RAG. Well this is just it, we tell her I won't use that and ask her how she treats an injured employee, apparently that's a question for the ages...
Enter prig bartender
We get then approached by the bartender who at least is not intoxicated. After assessing the situation, this person is competent enough to go to the pharmacy and bring back rubbing alcohol and cotton pads and it would have ended there if he wouldn't have said "I hope you don't faint, need anything else?" To what a friend jokingly replied "some shots would be nice" (we already had been there for an hour after being attacked by the facilities) and we get this reply "the alcohol and cotton are on the house". Dude. Just shut up. You're not doing me favor, I'm asking for the minimum after getting injured at your place. After returning the alcohol and pads to him in order to treat his coworkers in case they're injured in the kitchen (you're welcome guys) he states that he has been standing up for 10 hours (not our problem), that we were cracking jokes (I thought that's what you did when you go out with friends) and that we deserved no better. We decided at this point to just leave after such a bad customer service and in order to stop getting treated like an inconvenience due the poor state of the facilities.
Something to think about is that our party consisted of 3 Black persons and 3 Hispanic persons. Let me ask you, do you think things would have gone down differently if we were white and I went full Karen on the staff? The rubbing alcohol wouldn't have taken an hour in that case? Is this place racist? I will leave that question to be answered by you, if you dare stepping inside this death trap.
