It is absolutely amazing and impressive that this Sir Pizza is still in operation. I worked there for a bit 45 years ago, while in high school. I still make a point to visit every time that am in Pittsburgh. The pizza's taste is unique to Sir's and is excellent. Quick little spot to grab pizzas, pastas and hoagies in the west view area. The shop setting has a cool old school diner vibe, and the staff is very friendly. They're known for having square pizza slices, and offer a lot of variety. I enjoyed the Buffalo chicken plus the classic cheese pizzas. Sauces were tasty too! We had a great first time at the original Sir Pizza. We had never been here so we were a little confused with what you do. You walk in and order at the counter. They will give you your drinks...they have beer...then will call you later to pick up your food from the counter while you pay. We ordered two small pizzas. One pizza was plain and the second pizza had pepperoni and sausage. Both pizzas were great but the one with toppings was my pick for sure! I had driven past this Sir Pizza a couple of times and felt curious to try a new pizza place. My husband walked inside the business and ordered one 14-inch Royal Feast pizza for a pre-tip amount of $23. The employees said that the pizza would be ready for pickup in about 20 minutes, and it was ready then. My husband said that the employees were courteous. We ate the pizza at home. According to the menu, a Royal Feast pizza is supposed to blend pepperoni, mushrooms, red and green peppers, onions, and sausage, but we received few ingredients other than the sausage. Most importantly, the pizza tasted *EXTREMELY SALTY*! My husband and I each ate parts of two slices, and we could not tolerate the amount of salt. This place is interesting. You see it driving or walking by and it's calling your name inviting you to come in. The space is really big and you can tell it's been a staple and local favorite for decades. They were playing the Steeler game on the TV, just what I like to see. There's some cool arcade games in there too. We ordered a large cheese pizza and a calzone with mushrooms and pepperoni. The pizza is cut into squares/rectangles. I didn't love the pizza. The calzone was a little better, I liked how soft the dough was. The pepperoni was the kind that was crumpled up and it was hard to taste in the calzone. It was hard to taste the mushrooms too. Some people absolutely love this pizza. I don't think it's for me, but I hope you try it and like it! The staff was all wearing masks and they sanitized between customers. Customers were compliant with mask mandates too. You could tell the staff is like a family and they work well together. I brought my daughter to North Park and then decided to go the backway home to possibly go to Sam's and then saw Sir Pizza and decided to stop and get a pizza. We basically finished an entire medium pizza. I was impressed and disgusted with how much food we put away. I got half with cheese and half with banana peppers. I thought ok G will eat the cheese and I'll eat the peppers and we will take some home for dinner. WRONG! We destroyed it. The pizza was delicious. And the crust was nice and thin so G really enjoyed that. And then she was waving to everyone who came in and was saying hello so she had a blast. I would definitely recommend coming here if you want some good pizza relatively fast. There is seating inside so you can sit down and enjoy your food. What's the expression - you get what you pay for? Well in this case you get a lesson learned for your money. This pizza is not cheap. It's probably average cost but the problem is you only get a 14 inch pizza which isn't big enough for a family of four good eaters. Therefore you have to buy two pizzas. Not only that but you pay $5.35 for four very small breadsticks that I'm sure they got out of a box in from the freezer. As for the pizza it is really no better than frozen pizza. It has a cardboard like crust and flavorless sauce. I really hate giving bad reviews but I don't like wasting close to $40 when we could have had Mineos, Aiello's or Milano's for the same price. We had a good experience our first time here. A couple of friends were passing through town and wanted to grab lunch in the area. We initially wanted to sit down and eat at Good L'oven, but quickly realized they don't have any seating. So we ended up at Sir Pizza. They had JUST opened and the guy that greeted us was friendly and ready to take our order. We ordered a chicken Cesar salad, chicken parm hoagie, bread sticks, a small Buffalo chicken pizza, and beer for the weary travelers. Very reasonable price for everything. The Buffalo chicken pizza wasn't overly spicy or too soggy from the hot sauce. The crust is thinner and crispy, and the toppings go to the edge. It was super cheesy and not salty (like some of the other reviews here say). The chicken on my Cesar salad was freshly cooked and loaded with fresh Parmesan. Our guests enjoyed their food as well. I have never in my life had a worst lasagna. zero cheese over layers of noodles , ricotta and beef. zero. asked if there was a mistake. told no. I was pleasantly surprised with Sir Pizza. They are a cafeteria style restaurant. After you enter, you will proceed to the counter. We were met by a very cheerful person behind the counter. We told her this was our first time here. She seemed excited about that. She explained how the process worked and handed us a menu. She told us if we had any questions, don't be afraid to ask. We placed our order. They gave us our drinks and sides on a tray. We picked our seats and waited for our pizza. They called our name and I picked up the pie. They do not cut the pies in a traditional way. They use a criss cross cut. We were very happy with our experience. As we were leaving, the person behind the counter asked us how we enjoyed our first time? It's those little things that help make you want to go back and enjoy another meal. It's the perfect thin crust pizza place, and im thankful that Sir Pizza (Ross Township) goes to great lengths to bring delicious circular pizzas cut into squares to the North Hills of Pittsburgh. The ultimate reason I love sir pizza is that they crumble there pepperoni, I think it's the only pizza place I've ever been to that does it, and it is a game changer. No more greasy slices of underdone pepperoni - This pepperoni has a bite to it, it's just spicy enough, and it's super delicious. I've been going to the Ross Park location for the last month while my kitchen is being renovated, and I have not had a bad experience once. This transcends not only the pizza and other products sold by Sir Pizza, but also to all of the employees that sir pizza employs- he clearly has a very specific profile of the people that he wants working for him and does a great job of hiring folks who were kind, courteous, and simply there to do their job. Considering how split the reviews are here, I wasn't sure what to expect. I haven't found a pizza I wouldn't eat, but I have found plenty I didn't like. I might have got lucky right off the bat, as I normally want a New York style plain slice, but decided on the Pepperoni this time around. Color me shocked, but the diced up pepperoni seems to be the PERFECT topping for their pies. Crispy crust, nice sauce and cheese with the salty pepperoni bits. Even better, their pizza held up fairly well reheated in the oven which is not an easy task. Shocking that some folks call this the best in the Burgh, but it is unique and something I would find myself craving. $18 for a one topping pie with two smallish fountain drinks was a little more than I expected compared to other local shops, but I will definitely be back. read more

One of my all time favorite pizza places. The pizzas are unique in that there is no "crust". The toppings are spread to the edge and the pizza is cut into small squares. The ingredients are always fresh and the pizza is always hot in arrival. Tonight we ordered a large pepperoni and ate a little less than half for two adults (good size!). The pepperoni is ground so you get a little in every bite. The sauce is also a little bit tangy so the flavors balance well. Our family has been coming here my entire life and any time I'm in the north, I find myself justifying a reason to stop and grab a bite to eat! I will say it does seem like something changed recently with their pizza and couldn't tell if it was the sauce or the pepperoni but still was satisfying! And the wait usually isn't terribly long -for a eat in or carry out situation! It's definitely "not like the others" but if that's what you're looking for...go to another chain pizza joint. The pizza is square cut and can come with a plethora of toppings! This place is quaint but that allows your to spend your time focusing on your family or friends that you are their with - not staring at a million TVs or running off to play some cheap video game. Sir Pizza certainly has a love-it or hate-it taste/style to it, obviously I am for the love-it side of the fence. I grew up in the mid 80's nearby off of Rochester Road and this was probably the closest pizza place around our home. The fact that it has remained for nearly 30 years of my lifetime shows they have a following enough to sustain business! I have lived in Phoenix, Arizona for the last 12 years and although I have paid a visit to PA from time to time I this may have been my first visit to Sir Pizza in those 12 years. I was showing my wife (whose never been to Pittsburgh) where I grew up and around the city and Sir Pizza was on the tour as a must to stop and eat at! The visit did not disappoint, unless you count her introduction to I.C. Light which brought a very funny face out. Service was friendly, fast and when I said I hadn't been here for years the gal at the counter said welcome back. The pizza did not disappoint us and only added to the great time we were having. We ordered a 14" pepperoni which is my go to here and the small cuts almost always lead me to go for one more. We said we'd stop eating with 10 pieces on the pie plate and by the time we left there were two. I've never come across another pizza place that crumbles their pepperoni and the perfect combination of thin crust, not too sweet or salty sauce and provolone cheese just works. I refer back to the start of this review, you may not love-it but at least try it. Crispy potato chips were served beside the hoagie. The large pizza was uniquely cut into numerous small rectangular pieces, making it quite easy to handle. It was excellent. The atmosphere was fun and upbeat. A large TV screen was located on one of the walls. Old family wedding pictures adorned the "La Famiglia" wall. A large, older video game was available to play in the dining room. The restaurant was quite busy and a bit noisy. However, the restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly and efficient. Have bought extra cheese pizza at both the Ross and Franklin locations. The Ross location was excellent, lots of cheese, the Franklin location was the normal amount of cheese and the pizza was luke warm when I picked it up. Lesson learned is to go to the Ross location. read more
