The food is outstanding. People often complain about the wait, but if you want fast food, go to Domino's. I'd gladly wait four hours for this pizza! The atmosphere is friendly and old-school, with a true passion for Pittsburgh sports teams. In my opinion, this is one of the best -- if not the best -- pizza shops north of Pittsburgh. read more

Quality ingredients, hand-crafted excellence, and just that good old pizza ship vibes Messina's may not have online ordering, may not accept credit cards, and may have a vibe of 2000s Pittsburgh decor... but that also highlights the old school expertise of these pizza masters! I ordered a small Turf Pizza for takeout. The Turf Pizza is an amazing name for this (and yes, they also had a Surf Pizza) with Steak, Mushrooms, Peppers, Tomatoes & Onions. The shop sits at the far end of the strip and greets you with posters and pictures of the early 2000s Steelers. The employees are all tossing dough and crafting pizzas right behind the counter. The pizza crust was AMAZING! And it photographed like a piece of art. But with the amount of toppings, I had to eat the slices in pieces... it couldn't hold up to the girth of toppings! read more

Messina's has the best prices on their Sicilian Pizza. A lot more cheaper than other pizza shops in the area. Available in 8 and 16 cut. The one I recently got was loaded with toppings. Service great but takeout time is a little longer. read more

Like the atmosphere. Food is good. Service quick. It would be good to get to where they serve a full bar not just BYOB and beer.

The pizza was absolutely the best I have had in tha Tarentum, Natrona Heights, and Gibsonia region, the cheesy fries were not what I expected and all the staff all the way up to the owner was insanely respectful, helpful, and very friendly while preparing my order only one thing to consider is you will need cash for this establishment; other than that this place seems like and honestly feels like I'm getting pretty good homemade foods. The ambience was great as well. Their barbecue sauce is a must try I will forever love it ! Great first visit keep up the amazing work ! read more

I've been eating Messina's food for over 10+ years and I love everything on their menu. Cash or check only business. This trip we picked up some wings while we watched football all day. The wings are big and sauced perfectly. I would say the "hot" is more of a buffalo sauce since it's not overly spicy. The barbecue is great because it's tangy and not overly powerful. It's a small run business so you might have to wait a while for your food but it's worth it. For our wings it was only 30 mins, but sometimes for pizza it takes an hour plus. read more

Messina's Pizza & Restaurant - TO-GO: Hot & barbecue wings w/ ranch - Pizza Near Me - Gibsonia, Pennsylvania

I have been a customer for over a decade and have never had a problem. Delicious fresh pizza. Family owned. They get very busy on Friday and Saturday evenings so delivery can take a long time. I recommend picking up your pizza on those evenings if you're strapped for time. Excellent pizza for excellent prices! read more

Great food especially for the price!!! The wait time can be a little longer than expected but the quality for the price is worth the wait. Great family very friendly, will continue to support this local pizza shop . read more

Very reasonable pricing, good food and nice people. I would recommend this Pizza shop to anyone. read more

Can't say it enough. If you can find it in the hills you are in for a treat! Yummo! Small space eating but priced right . Cash or check only--- don't bring plastic. I hope when you go there's a Penguins game on for your dinner entertainment! Great time. read more

Excellent service and wonderful staff. Food is delicious and very affordable. Highly recommended. Cash only

Nearly everything is homemade! The portions are large! The prices are more than fair! The banter between the owner and his sons is pure gold!! Greatly place for a taste of Italy!! The quality is consistent because there is no turn over of the core group. read more

Yummy. New to the area we finally found a great pizza place. I highly reccomend you go and try the pizza and wings. We also got the antipasta. Wings were a great price for 16. And the were big and meaty just how i like them. The white pizza was great too. Staff are friendly looks and smels like a pizza place how its supposed to be. It took us to go to three other places before finding this one and so glad we did. Thank you messinas for a great dinner. read more

Messina's Pizza & Restaurant - White pizza, 16 plain wings extra crispy and an antipasta. Delicious - Pizza Near Me - Gibsonia, Pennsylvania

Pizza is very good. But they are always understaffed and pizza is never ready when promised. Pizza was promised in one hour and hadn't been made yet when I arrived in an hour. This has happened repeatedly. I only come back because my son asks for their pizza. This would be a great pizza place if they knew how to run a business. read more

Been going here for years & it's the best pizza & Italian food I've ever had... the dough is some of the best... soft inside, flaky on the outside. This place is an absolute local gem... don't listen to the people who went one time. Only cons are the wait times can be long (but that's because the place is so popular!) & the dining room is super tiny. They are also cash only. read more

REally authentic pizza....The owner speaks in broken english. Pizzais really great, the only drawback is it's cash only. read more

Rude answering the phone. Don't accept credit cards. Tell customer they're wrong when order is incorrect.

Very good pizza. Tastes like good, homemade pizza. The wings are also excellent. The only order I have ever been displeased with is the roast beef sub. The roast beef is dry and tasteless. But don't let that stear you away. Everything else is amazing. read more

Meh ?! Just meh. Crust sauce and cheese. And nah, not again. Yinz git it ? You know what I mean - this pizza met the minimum requirements in pizza school. read more

We ordered a chicken ranch pizza and a whole steak hoagie. The pizza was just ok do to the chicken being extremely over cooked. Making it dry. The ranch sauce was very good and so was the crust. Without the chicken it would have been good. The steak hoagie was pretty decent. The steak was seasoned well and the bread they use is great. Overall I would say give them a try as the only negative I encountered was the chicken and that obviously isn't a good representation of the rest of their menu. read more

Went to dine in and waited 1 hour and 20 min for our pizza. I went up to the counter at the 1 hour mark and was told "it's slowly coming out". We then asked for it to go and then the cook rolled his eyes I guess not knowing I was still standing there. If you ever want to eat here, maybe ask how long you will have to wait. Completely annoyed! read more

I would give 0 stars if possible. Absolutely one of the worst pizza's we've ever had. Skimpy, thin, odd tasting brown, (not red) sauce. The only thing worse than the pizza was the disgusting bathroom. Geez, owner, spend a few hours in there with a pressure washer and remove the decade old grime in every corner. Then maybe drop a few bucks and freshen it up. Any higher ratings must have come from local, former (or current) stoners or country folks more accustomed to going to a feed mill or gas station. read more

Great pizza shop, great neighborhood, great food, great menu with lots of selections, great people. I've been coming here since 2010 and haven't once had a bad meal. You can eat in if you'd like, they have 5 little booths and two flat screen televisions to watch. Most people it seems either order delivery or just pick up their orders. I usually get the circle pizza, however the Sicilian pizza is quite good as well. The only real draw back is usually between 4:00 pm and 6:30 pm, especially on Fridays and Saturdays, they get really backed up, wait times are on average one and a half to two hours for your order. I find it's worth the wait though! read more

Honestly I would give this 0-1/2 of a star. First I walk in and I smell onion rings (sorry but I think a pizza place should smell like pizza not onion rings)! So my family ordered a pizza and pepperoni rolls. It took 1 hour and 20 minutes! When my friend went to go ask what was taking so long, they said "it's slowly coming out." And the cook rolled his eyes! They lady at the counter in charge of the register, mumbled, "it hasn't been an hour." Yes it has! I would NOT recommend coming here. The food was okay. read more

The pepperoni pizza is wonderful! Delicious sauce, great crust... The perfect pizza! Delivered hot to my house. I'll definitely order from Messina's again. read more

Best local pizza place around with great food. Locally owned too, homemade non-generic box brand pizza. The wings to the hoagies the the specialty food like gyros are fantastic. Not to mention the prices are unbeatable. 5 stars hands down. People need to quit going to this stupid big box chain pizza places with crap pizza and no soul. Messinas has soul, and the family runs the business with their heart and great recipes. read more

Pretty plain, Nothing fancy, its food. No credit card reader, wtf? Staff were nice, but disconnected. Need food, they got you, but if you're looking for pizza, keep walking. read more

Messina's Pizza & Restaurant - Out of 10. Pizza 6. Bread Sticks 2 - Pizza Near Me - Gibsonia, Pennsylvania

A great place to order Pizza and subs. Never had an issue with the food. We order from here 1-2 times a month. Use to get delivery, seems to take too long. We just pick up now and no problems. Staff is very nice. They do not accept plastic. Cash or check only. read more

I've had quite a few items from menu. Their strength is in everything but Pizza. Pretty good food, especially eggplant parm. Folks/Family who own and run the place are nice. Bring Cash, don't bring more than 4 people to eat in, expect close to an hour wait on any size order for pick up, and expect even longer of a wait for delivery. read more

For a takeout place, it was okay. I would never go and eat there again as an eat in. We took the kids, it was SOOOOOOO SLOW. When we finally got our food, it was okay. The place is older, run down... the people were nice enough. read more

Super affordable meals. Good pasta dinners, pizza, and wings. I order here all the time when I don't want to cook.

The regular pizza is good but Messina's Sicilian Pizza is where it's at. They have the best Sicilian around.. hands down. Their sandwiches are very, very good. Their wings only come in two flavors, mild and BBQ but the price is great for the large order you get. read more

This is a great hand tossed pizza. The sauce isn't too sweet and the crust is just right.

Great food all around. I haven't ordered anything there that I didn't like. Only draw back is they get super busy and sometimes pick up or delivery is over a 1 hour wait but well worth it read more

Got the white pizza. Absolutely zero flavor. Wanted to give this place a try. Definitely not going back.

Amazing pizza! It is made by true Italians. It always tastes great. Waiting times can be a little long though. Otherwise it is a great place to get pizza from. read more

The 16 cut Sicilian pizza is the best around and a great price. My only complaint is that they need to get another oven. Often when I call there's a wait of as much as an hour for a pizza. Although the Sicilian is incredible, I'm not a fan of the round pizza. Most people I know agree. read more
