Truly the best pizza I have ever had. Such a great experience, everyone was very nice. Definitely recommend!!

I have eaten here prior but only slices. On my birthday I decided to order a whole pizza, some wings and a salad. It was actually really disappointing. The wings were cold as well as the pizza. I actually watched them remove the pizza from the oven, place it in a box and cut it . They then taped the box closed which i thought was strange but , ok.I drove home to Freeport, about 3.5 miles. By the time we arrived home, the food was cold . What this tells me is that the pizza was already made , baked earlier and reheated. I believe that this was the reason that they taped the box closed, so I wouldn't look at it until I got home.I was expecting a freshly made pizza. Same deal with the wings. Anyone who gives this place more than 2 stars doesn't know good pizza. This place is definitely not the standard. You could tell by the way it looked that it was reheated. I will not go there again. read more

So I just walked out of j & s pizza. Why, I asked for 4 slices of Sicilian pieces ( center ones please) the young lady at the counter said ok there's one coming out of the oven now. Because the owner saw that there were 2 slices ( side pieces with crust) on the counter he told her I could only have what was already cooked. I could not believe the I couldn't get 4 slices of freshly cooked pizza. What's the world coming to. I then walked out not believing what had just happened. Never again. Minus all stars. We spent over $30 on 2 bottles of skunked beer, a half dozen wings that were dried out and had no flavor except for the oil they were fried in, and an Italian hoagie with brown lettuce, 1 slices of of ham, no cheese and a partial slice of salami. This place is horrible. Be advised. read more

I tried the eggplant, stuffed meat, square thick cut and thin mushroom and pepperoni pizzas. I would get the eggplant and stuffed meat slices again. I was not a fan of the thick crust (a little bland and doughy). The mushroom and pepperoni had yellow and white cheeses, it would have been better without the yellow cheese. I had their simple side salad (lettuce, tomato, onion and cheese.) It was fairly large and filling for a side salad. The staff was friendly and eager to help. I can not speak to the pizza... But I can tell you the fried dough is delish!! My Gram took me there 30+ years ago for fried dough and it tastes the same! So super yummy! And at $1 a piece I got some to share with my siblings. What a delight. read more

If you order take out and there is something wrong with your order, it pains them to make it right, even when its their fault. About their Pizza...if you like your pizza with a crispy crust, this isnt the pizza for you. You need 2 hands to eat a slice, one to pick it up and the other one, to quickly pick up the floppy end to save your toppings from sliding off. Floppy is the perfect word to describe it. Honestly, from the floppy pizza to the frozen fries to their lack of good customer service, J&S is mediocre at best. read more

Use to order from here once or twice a week and then we noticed that the prices were different based on who was working, Delivery with tip sometimes was less than picking up. Was told today that a Cabrese Salad does not come with a dressing so it is suppose to be $1.00 extra when you ask even though it is under salad and you get one dressing per salad. Then I was told I should always get charged $1.00 for extra olives (4) for these miniature olives. Then the tomatoes used to be real nice and now you get half or quarter tomatoes. I really enjoy most everything about J&S Pizza. I am 47 years old at the time of this writing. I remember J&S when they were in the old Highlands Mall....yeah the mall with two directories, which is comical because it was so dinky that even a toddler couldn't get lost! Hahaha Anyway, our family always enjoy the food and service. The family that owns it are true Italians and they greet you with a smile. They're always busy which is a testament that the food is delicious and consistent. Many others in the Valley and myself will keep coming back. It's quite a breath of fresh air getting food at a family owned restaurant and that they have a stake in the community. It was inevitable that they had to hire a slew of high school kids to keep up with the demand. The plain thin pizza & tuna subs are great! That's basically all l get there! Pizza is the best around, even with all the competition. If you haven't tried spaghetti pizza, try it. A meal in a slice. Their thin crust reminds me of NY street pizza vendors pizza, excellent. Very much worth a try. Oh and their Stromboli and salads are right up there too! read more

Stopped here for some pizza after visiting a buddy in the hospital nearby. I've been to J&S before, but it's been a while. My 10 year old - quite the pizza lover and critic - went with the exotic pepperoni pizza slice. I tried a slice of their white topped with tomato, and a slice with eggplant and mozzarella on top. They have quite a variety of slices to choose from, as well as calzone and other menu selections. They heat them up as they are ordered, so you always get it fresh and hot. The serving staff are friendly and efficient, and it's obvious the cooks in back are busy. Everything looked clean and well kept, including the rest room. Good food! I especially liked my slice with eggplant on top. Everything was seasoned just right, flavorful and generous in size. Our food, with drinks and 20+% tip - less than 20 bucks. Great spot to stop. I order from here frequently, and have been for years, and it's always consistently DELICIOUS, and the service is just as wonderful. I've never had one bad encounter from this establishment in the 20 or so years that I've been ordering from them. I usually order a large thin crust pizza with pepperoni, and a large Italian hoagie. Sometimes I'll get chicken wings instead of a sub. Everything is always fantastic. The pizza has a sweeter sauce, but I love it. The pizza is deliciously greasy and tasty. The subs come on homemade rolls that are so tasty and fresh. This is true Italian food. The service is always phenomenal. These people really have a good work ethic and you don't see much of that anymore. I recommend this place over any pizza place! You MUST try if you haven't yet. read more

The restaurant is a nice looking restaurant when you walk in, but the people are not. When I walked in everyone just stared at me and kept looking at me while I was eating which was very uncomfortable. The food isn't so great, the pizza tasted like cardboard and it was cold. The (1) slice I got took 10 minutes just to heat up and it wasn't even cold. When I walked in they said hello, well one person did. When I left however nobody said anything which was odd, being they have like 20 works all just standing there upfront. I wish the costumer service was a lot better and I will be going to another pizza shop. All good I can say is that the restaurant looks very nice. read more

I don't know what all the hype is about this place. I ate here a lot growing up & have never cared for it. To this day, everything tastes exactly the same. I think the food is just unseasoned. Their thick crust pizza just tastes like a loaf of bread with toppings on it, its not even crispy on thr bottom. I'm sure I'll eat food from here again, because my family loves it, but I'll never feel satisfied with the flavors. I normally add my own seasonings at home. read more
