So,when I go here the food is good but I would have to say that I've never had a good experience with the service here (over a dozen times). Why did we keep going? Because we wanted to support a small business in the community that we live in. My personal hope was that it would improve somewhere along the way .My family and I have had horrendous service especially the past three times so unfortunately we will not be going back. Maybe only to order takeout. I will tell you about the past two times. My husband and I walked in on a busy Saturday evening with no reservations (silly I know). Everybody that worked in the whole restaurant walked past multiple times without saying a word. I guess everyone else thought that someone else said greeted us or asked how many. No exaggeration, we stood there for 20 minutes before a bus boy even ask how many. He said he just had to clean a table. He sat us down eventually and I could see/hear a server yelling at the young teen demanding to know why he sat her. He came over to get our drink order and I asked if she was mad that he sat us. He kind of mumbled something and I said,"Well,, if she doesn't want our business then we can just leave." My husband left it up to me and we got up and walked out because at this point I already had a bad taste in my mouth .Having been a server for over 10 years myself I was very offended by this treatment. We are very easy to take care of and are good tippers so she missed out on probably $20 right there. Your staff could say Buddy "I'll be with you in a minute." That would even be better than outright ignoring your customers standing there waiting to give you their business... The very last time we went, I made reservations for my family of four at 6:45 on a Friday.We arrived at about 6:40. Again, every worker in the whole restaurant walked past without acknowledging us. After about 10 minutes a bus boy asked how many. I said four and that we had reservations for 6:45. He didn't say anything and walked away. I could see at least two empty and clean tables on both side sides of the restaurant. At 7:05 I asked the same bus boy what was going on. He said they were just waiting to clean a table, and as I previously stated there were already clean tables. A party came in behind us and another bus boy asked right away if that was the rest of our party. I pretty much said no and that our whole party was here waiting already and that it was just the four of us and we had a reservation for 6:45.He said something about this is why I should've asked you myself. He told us(at 7:10) to follow him and took us to one of the empty booths that had been open the whole time we were standing there. He apologized profusely and then got our drinks. The server that we had wasn't very friendly but took our order right away. The bus boy brought our soups and salad, got us refills, took our dirty plates,and got us boxes. I feel as though he should've gotten the tip seeing as how the server only took our order and dropped the check off. Your bus boys are wonderful and keep your restaurant running smoothly. read more

I love Capri! This is one of the best places around the area to eat. I usually get the Shrimp Ravioli in Blush sauce. All entrees come with a generous salad which I add anchovies! Or soup which is usually wedding. And the bread, is delicious! It's also BYOB so i usually take a bottle of red. I would recommend for a nice Italian dinner. read more

We have been eating at Capri for almost two decades or more. We always get a salad and an entrée. The salad is large and so are the entrees. In fact we usually have to take some of it home. It is good home cooking. And their prices are very reasonable. We live 20 some miles north of Capri but always stop when we are down that way. We highly recommend Capri Restaurant. read more

The last two times I ordered pizza there was hardly any cheese. We always ask for extra cheese and we were charged for it. Very disappointing. Even if we didn't ask for extra cheese I would have been disappointed with the amount of cheese that was on our pizza. "If" we order again I will let them know and see what they say. read more

The staff was very nice. Ordered the red pepper and chicken personal pizza and a caprese panini. The pizza crust felt super old school which I enjoyed. Toppings weren't anything memorable. The panini was just solid mozzarella basil and tomato in their homemade panini dough. Had to request the basil balsamic vinaigrette and glad I did...added some pop. I had the fresh cheese ravioli and big bowl of wedding soup. Everything was delicious and the service was great.

Not to be confused with "Capri" in East Liberty. I absolutely love to see a pizza place that offers pizza without cheese (the "marinara" uses garlic, red sauce, anchovy and olive). All of their "specialty" pizzas can be augmented. I recommend, if you do want cheese, to add "fresh ricotta" to the "marinara pizza" -- which completes this dish in a way that is very special. However, as I said before, I love it when I can order pizza without cheese! Most "Pizza Shops" mess this up, or scoff at the order. This makes this place extra special for pizza take-out. Last night we dined in and for the first time (in a long time, maybe 5 years or more) had some good pasta. We weren't avoiding the place, we simply hadn't found the right moment. They sat us near the window in a booth and it was perfect. The place isn't very big, so pick a time in the middle of the week and not during peak hours, because it can be packed quickly. My dining partner had gnocchi with fresh mozzarella and the "blush sauce", a cheese and marinara mixed sauce. It was very well cooked and seasoned. One negative is we asked if the calamari came with tentacles and they said no. I was not super enthusiastic so we didn't order it. It's hard to find a good place that serves you rings AND tentacles in Pittsburgh. I had the "seafood alfredo" (much to the chagrin of my dining partner), and the shrimp were cooked absolutely perfectly, the sauce was creamy and lovely, and the pasta was "to the tooth" ... we have absolutely no complaints. The bread, obviously based on their pizza dough and made in-house, was plentiful and fresh. The salad that came with my meal was very "clean" and enjoyable. They were out of Blue Cheese so I had Ranch dressing instead, and it was fine. Nothing super special but not a "bad" ranch. read more

Not impressed at all for about $20. Ordered 8 cut thick crust pizza with pepperoni and roasted red peppers. Very skimpy on the toppings, for which they charge $1.50 each (pepperoni and peppers). The sauce is so bland, I could barely taste it. It didn't even taste like 'pizza sauce'...no garlic, no pepper, no onion, just some kind of red sauce. I think we got 16 pepperoni slices and 8 very slim slices of red peppers on the whole pizza. Could you spare it? The cheese, however, was very good, but that's about it. My family LOVES Capri. We always get carry out since the place is always busy. We ate inside once and it was great to see local high schoolers being employed. Their homemade salad dressing is incredible and we get a large container of it to use it at the house. I love their white pizza, my dad gets spaghetti and meatballs, sisters get eggplant parm. I live a couple streets away and really like Capri. If you're looking for Italian food in the area, there's no restaurant better. It has a very nice atmosphere. If you want wine, you need to bring your own...many people do. The staff is great and they have dedicated staff for drink refills and anything else you need aside from your regular waiter/waitress. The menu is large and all of it is great. Portion sizes are also very large. I have nothing negative to say about Capri. read more

I struggled with paying almost $20 for a takeout dish of Italian food, but I gotta give credit when due. Their chicken Alfredo with broccoli is one of the best I've probably ever had in my life.
